I've levelled almost all my elite specs in WvW. it's very quick. Not even level 50 in the xp ranks (it goes into thousands) and I've levelled 6 elite specs with WvW heroics. It really is quick, I'm not a heavy player of this mode at all. Plus at the same time you are also getting lots of tomes of knowledge from reward tracks, which means you don't need to level extra chars to 80. The bar is really not high for joining WvW.

Agreed, games which turn around are often the most fun.

You may get better matchmaking at a higher tier in ranked, I wouldn't know but the matchmaking at lower tier in ranked is a worse experience than playing unranked.

Player suggestion (regardless of their skill) for balancing is a very poor replacement for having competent game developers. It creates more problems than it solves.

You can turn into a fire dog on DBL, it's clearly superior to anything else.

I've been using Strikes to get ascended armour. For the actual time I spend playing, seems very time efficient. I am not really a farmer, I don't enjoy sorting through loot that much. With strikes, I can just pay the shards in and get what I want. the three easy strikes and forging steel once a day is about 40 minutes or there about and doing that once a day for a week can get around enough to get one of the smaller 150 shard armour pieces.

You need to stop being such a crying noob and use a proper set of commands to get the most out of core engi. I use the following: Escape>Logout>Character Screen>Second Character from the left.
