  1. Anet doesn’t know how to balance and yet it’s so “difficult” for them to balance between PVE & PVP/WVW game modes lol.... but anyways, I’m only gonna speak for Mesmers. “Balance” isn’t giving every other profession unique mechanics/boons/skills etc... to others and then nerf our class so we aren’t included and making us only good for ‘utilities.’ “Balance”, isn’t introducing the Mirage E-Spec and removing a dodge bar (in pvp/wvw) when everyone else ESPECIALLY [that profession that won’t be name], gets to run around with 2-3. So, with us receiving a lot more kitten nerfs than other professions, expectations are definitely high for the Mesmers EoD Elite Spec.

Just as long as the next e spec I don’t have to rely on shattering as a damage source. Shatters don’t bring anything new while every other professions new e-spec gets something different...
  3. Or not make them at all. *shrugs* or tie precursors etc... behind them.
  4. Ritualist outfit or Outfit Voucher so we can choose which outfits we want...
  5. A 100% agree that there needs to be a “medium” mode so atleast first timers can immerse themselves in the lore of the raids and actually get to experience what others do. I still have yet to do the path of fire raids but the other raids I did with FRIENDLY players who actually trained and were very patient. Not saying we don’t need them but it would be preferred if there was an “easier’ ish” mode that anyone/profession can take part in.
  6. > @"Yoci.2481" said: > What we will get: A single clone that works sort of like a Soulbeast pet. Phantasm skills will switch the type of the pet. I like this idea but will tweak it by having it so we get an "Illusionary Form" F1-F4" which gives us access to different skills depending on the form we're in. Clone/Phantasmal won't spawn anything and will just increase the duration of the form by 1 second. So essentially the illusionary form takes inspiration from Death Shroud and the "Break Illusion to Defeat" that the White Mantle Mesmers have. OR This could also be made into an Elite with a high cooldown which would be the same as Warriors Rampage form but taking damage will break the form faster and not affect your actual health bar until it's gone.

If they're going to be making "special cases" like giving an e-spec an extra weapon and as a note, I couldn't care less if the Warriors are known to be the masters of all weapons, then other classes should be able to dual wield weapons of the same type too. For example; Elementalist got a sword with Weaver, so why not give them Dual Swords because whose to say when EoD comes around, they give them an off-hand sword in their new e-spec? It would be stupid and a lazy idea to pull something off like that when they could've given it to them when they introduced Weaver. To make it 'simple'; for the new E-Specs, if the weapon can be dual-wielded, they should automatically give the E-Spec an extra weapon. Hell; I'm still wondering why Mesmers didn't get Main hand Pistol and I'd be pretty pissed if they gave us that for the next E-Spec when that could've been given us as a Core.
  8. > @"Jables.4659" said: > No. To me, removing shatters would remove the identity of Guild Wars 2 Mesmer. That being said, I am 100% on board with phantasms being replaced by attacks executed by the actual Mesmer. If done well, this could solve some issues. > > 1.) Insta-gib Power bursts would be less lethal as you would no longer be able to precast Phantasmal Berserker and have them land with the rest of your combo. I'm curious to see how the power burst would adapt to this type of change. Perhaps you would throw mirror blade from range and blink in to use GS-4 right as mirror blade hits. > > 2.) Power Mesmer would gain some much needed mobility via Greatsword and Offhand Sword phantasms. > > 3.) The inherent issues of relying on AI to deal damage would be drastically reduced for Mesmer. This has become more of a problem since Anet reworked phantasms into one and done attacks (admittedly a necessary change due to Chronomancer). Far too often the phantasm is summoned and either whiffs its ability or its target dies and the phantasm does not attack at all. > > 4.) It could fix another issue resulting from the previous phantasm rework in that we no longer gain instant access to shatter ammo upon using a phantasm skill. The reworked abilities could summon a clone upon use. > Well to be fair, no one asked for them to remove Hexes/Interrupts which I felt were Mesmers real identity in the original game and it’s not like they couldn’t add hexes in GW2 since it’s essentially a reverse-barrier. But anyways, I still would rather your idea for the next E-Spec so we aren’t reliant on clones and shattering. I don’t necessarily have an issue with phantasms as you just cast them and they deal a lot of damage. I just want their cast time reduced. Also for the next E-spec, if they give the Mesmers an illusionary form, it can almost work the same as death shroud or holosmith giving access to phantasmal melee/range attacks dealing good damage and inflicting confusion & torment.

If yes, this would be kinda unfair for engineer once again, since this class has just access to speargun as underwater weapons.... why should some classes get 2 new weapons while engineers just get 1? I'm sure they'd give Engineers Spear to compensate but I guess we didn't 'think' that far and some engineer kits can be used underwater as well.

  11. Well, going back to Cantha ha always been my dream since my first MMO adventures started on Guild Wars Factions. I’m also very excited to see “my people” the Kurzicks and can’t wait to see how maps/locations are translated into the game. What I “want”, it would be cool (and make a lot more sense) if they tied the usage of Underwater weapons to be used on land, to our new elite specs. But aside from that, I’m pretty easy going and just want to be immersed by Cantha once more for nostalgia. I’ll probably spend a few days exploring before I even care about the living story with the dragon lol.
  12. > @"Dadnir.5038" said: > I commend the effort, but I find none of those proposed e-spec attractive. Unless it’s the XX number of E-specs you’ve drafted.
  13. I like the ideas but will have to give my opinion on a couple of things. So with EoD and the number of threads on possible elite specializations, I think we all need to keep in mind that our future elites will be based on the various lore(s) within Cantha. Which for one I thank you for taking the time to make some of the ideas you posted because now'a days people don't and end up creating elites that are overloaded and forget it needs to make sense gameplay-wise and lore-wise. To make a note, I'm not too sure when EoD will come out, be it next year Summer or Fall, but my opinion is gonna be based on what I feel makes sense, is within their time frame and I guess the resources anet has because I'm sure there will be a lot of recycled things within the new elite specs as I'm sure they're focus will be on the Story, maps and cosmetic nick-nacks. > Firstly, for all the "unique" mechanics each profession will get is up in the air and there's really no right or wrong one answer since the ideas are vast. But the ones I sort of like that you've mentioned above are of the: Thief & Guardian, everything else sounds neat on paper but don't think they are required/need more polishing/balancing. > > For the weapons, as I've mentioned in other posts, I still stand by that due to time restraints, resources etc... they'll likely have the new elite specs allow ALL professions to use their underwater weapons on land, but with certain skills changed to compensate (example; floats, sinks etc..). I still think this is a good idea because since a lot of people are not a fan of underwater combat, why not bring our underwater weapons on land too? But with that said, I'm not completely ruling out new weapons but there's just not many that make much sense with certain professions thematically and since they're focusing on giving us Cantha as soon as possible, I wouldn't mind getting new weapons in a future expansion after EoD. > > However, if not underwater weapons used on land, then I'd say: > Guardian: Warhorn > Warrior: Staff / Dual Pistol > Revenant: Greatsword > Thief: Greatsword / Dual Axes > Engineer: MH Mace > Ranger: Rifle > Elementalist: Longbow > Mesmer: Warhorn / MH Pistol > Necromancer: MH Sword > > I'm 99.9% sure they aren't going to make new weapons, maybe in a future expansion after EoD but for now, the weapons we have in-game is what we have to deal with, the ones requested I'm sure was inspired by WoW, which is fine, but I still don't think they'll be added sadly. For the Utilities, I won't say too much about it since they can practically be anything, but I'll drop my two cents on what I think each profession might get: > Guardian: Wells / "Spirits" aka work like the "Phantasm skills like Mesmers" (However, since Ritualist was my first char when I started my GW adventures, I wouldn't prefer Guardians getting Ritualist stuff and would rather Monk abilities, but that's just me being petty lol) / Divine Favor > Warrior: Preparations/Motivations/Commands > Revenant: Tengu / Vizu > Thief: Stance / Living Shadow "Clones" > Engineer: Augments / Steal > Ranger: Venom / Stealth Attacks > Elementalist: Meditation / Imbue / Invoke > Mesmer: Shouts / Stances / Conjure > Necromancer: Mantra / Glyph / Conjure Other than that, good thread regardless and can't wait to get more information on EoD and our future elite specs so we can all began theorycrafting and saving up for future builds.
  14. No. As someone who only has one char and have searched through every corner of every map location, I don’t know how you people do it but having to make a new char and explore EVERYTHING again? Absolutely not. Would rather have it so every area is unlocked for future chars once I’ve played through entirely. Some might say “well you get other items, achievements etc....” well “technically” I shouldn’t have to make another char to get more gifts, backpack skins etc.... they should have it where I need to get more map currency and buy them that way or something along those lines.
  15. When I first saw these pictures I got so excited and I honestly can't wait to "Go Home" where MY Guild Wars Adventures started way back for me. I was a Rit/Mes, allied with Kurzick and I just loved the environment and atmosphere of Factions. I CANNOT wait to see how the Echovald Forest has evolved! Also, going off from the pictures: The Unknown character of the woman, "A promised future", I have a strange feeling that she might be Emperor's Daughter? (if he has one) and perhaps she is also the "Champion" of the Deep Sea dragon? Regardless, I hope we get this new expansion soon!
  16. Ritualist outfit or atleast give us the outfit voucher so we all can pick an outfit of our choice.

  18. Just a reminder that the elite specs would revolve around the theme of Cantha once we get there as the elite specs were based around Elona. But with that said, who knows what other classes will get and it’s really up in the air. I personally have a feeling they might migrate Underwater weapons to land use, just different skills of course. But if not those then I personally think the classes below might get: Revenant: Greatsword Warrior: Pistol/Pistol or Staff Guardian: Offhand Sword/Axe/Mace Elementalist: Longbow or Axe main hand Mesmer: Warhorn, Dual Daggers used as range weapons or Pistol main hand. Necromancer: Sword or Axe main hand Ranger: Rifle Thief: Dual axes Engineer: Scepter or Focus Again, I still think with the theme of next expansion we’ll likely get to use our underwater weapons on land, just different skills and then they’ll give us new utilities etc... but who knows. There’s no right or wrong opinion. We’ll just have to wait and see.
  19. I hope they make the Dominion of the Winds accessible when EoD is released.

I'm stating that, with EoD around the corner, it's likely Warriors will get a staff and will be treated the same way as how Thieves got a staff for their Elite Spec... > > But the reason you gave for that is because the watchknights do it. They've been doing it since 2013, so by your logic it was 99.9% confirmed that warriors would get staff as a polearm in HoT and it didn't happen then, or in PoF. Why should it happen now? Not that I even care about warriors and what they get, I’m just assuming that’s what I’ve been hearing others talk about since what other weapon could they possibly get when they essentially have everything at this point lol...
