  1. After Scarlet & Mordremoth, the story just got bland for me. But I’m sure it’ll get better when we go to Cantha. It would be nice to migrate away from the Elder Dragons and deal with an enemy on par to Scarlet or even Joko.
  2. > it wont return, ih ambushes dont deal dmg anymore, staff ate 50% dmg nerf, scepter lost all its dmg due to bleed on crit trait. > staff clone has more dps with auto-attacks rather then ambushes. Axe is the only good IH ambush but those clones are melee anyways. > IH is better for power IH then for condi now. Essentially Mirage is a write off E-Spec all because people love to complain. Feels great getting an expansion that catored to everyone else and we ended up getting nothing out of it...ASIDE from using the Spec in PvE. Yippie.
  3. New to raids myself and have done a couple of runs so far. However, with that said, there are very MINIMAL people who actually are patient and helpful. But to be brutally honest, the raid “community” needs to do better and needs to dial the toxicity level way down! Especially when it comes to yelling at people who made a small mistake/mis step and telling them to go die of covid. Definitely not cool...
  4. > @"Obtena.7952" said: > This is even LESS likely than getting _one_ new race. I don't understand where people get the idea a new race would be 'interesting' ... like interesting how? All the races play exactly like all the other races. What is the 'interesting' part of Anet introing a new race? I mean, it adds to the somewhat diversity in the game, even though a high percentage of the player base plays as Humans *shrugs*. Yeah it might not "add" something to the game but neither does having Aurene around when all she does is sit in the EotN or when she does help, it's a minor cameo appearance lol. Same goes with Masteries, I still have yet to understand what they were going for with that but it's still added and they continue to add more. But with that said, I'm not picking sides and by the looks of the time they'll have to give us EoD and factoring in Covid, I doubt we'll get Tengu. Nonetheless, I'd be very surprised if they added them in.
  5. > > > > Again, I don't think the tengus will be added, but I'm still neutral and not going to rule things out just because of assumptions. > Sorry if I misunderstood you, but in this scenario Cantha would be only playable for Tengu characters? Anyone wanting to play on their old asura would be left out? > Or it would have to be two completely different stories, one for the old characters and one for the tengu. > > And then, what do we do with LS6? The tengu is bonded to DSD and the rest to Aurene, separate stories forever? Or will the tengu not be playable in story content after that? We're going to Cantha this year so how am I saying Cantha is only accessible to only Tengu? Everyone will have the Guild Wars 2 game by now and no ones saying other races will be left out when as I said again, we're all going to Cantha with our current characters. Essentially it's like what WoW did with their new races. In this case, getting to make/play a Tengu requires an already level 80 char or completion of the previous living story (Zhaitan etc..) which I'm sure everyone has done and then you get to make a Tengu in their starting zone being in Cantha or for those who want to explore old content, the Domain of the Winds. Their starting story would revolve around Cantha and the DSD and then they can explore the other story with Aurene if/when Anet decides to do the audio/visuals for that. I don't see what the big kitten issue is with Tengu not having an as strong relationship with Aurene. Aurene isn't everyone's messiah...
  6. > @"maddoctor.2738" said: >This isn't like adding a new profession, adding the Revenant made no sense lore-wise, as the "first Revenant" was supposed to be Rytlock, after he entered the Mists. But at least that wasn't a big development problem, as adding all the dialogues would certainly be. > > If Tengu are added to the game, their story will begin with the content they are added in. This includes voice lines, and probably armor sets too. 100% agree with this. If the Tengu were to let's say start in the Cantha, they're story can revolve around whats happening in Cantha which is what the rest of us will have to deal with when we get there. The deep sea dragon and then they can perhaps have us visit the capital city of the Doman of the Winds. Tengu don't necessarily have to have some sort of relationship with Aurene and not every Tengu knows about her since majority of them kept to themselves or some tribes are in the Cantha region. So whats to say that some tengu allied themselves with the deep sea dragon. :)
  7. > @"Fenella.2634" said: > Several people have suggested to skip most or all of the previous story with Tengu. > > However, this does not work. The PC's bond with Aurene is crucial to the plot and very unique. Without that, how can Tengu get the same plot moving forward as the older characters? > And in order to have this bond, we need to have at least LS2 and everything that followed as canon for the character. > Having a generic Commander character die and be replaced by the Tengu PC would not be the same, so going forward, this Tengu would have to have a different story, even after their introduction. > > This, plus the 6 new voice actors needed for all future content. Phew. All that just for a bit of cosmetics? I don't think it's worth it. Not necessarily. The tengu race can start in Cantha which I'm sure with basic knowledge everyone knows that Cantha had no communication with the other races and our side of the world. So the Tengu starting in Cantha would be a "for now" if they wanted to end up doing voice lines for the previous living stories. However, I don't really see any issue when it comes to voice lines and the plot if they just started in either the Domain of the Winds/Cantha. Also, what's to say if they didn't want to have a bond with Aurene and ended up having one with the Deep Sea Dragon over in Cantha? Again, I don't think the tengus will be added, but I'm still neutral and not going to rule things out just because of assumptions.
  8. > > > Well yeah, you are right they can't seem manage something basic like warrior, and im proposing something that switches bodies , but one can dream right. > Hey Vancho, So yes it does and looks cool when I watched the video but Anet is VERY lazy and on top of that, they essentially ruined the Mesmer by tieing the shatter mechanic to them for every single E-Spec which is VERY distasteful and unoriginal. I’m afraid for EoDs E-Spec... However to add to your idea, awhile back I thought of just incorporating the “White Mantle Illusion” ability called “Break Illusion to Defeat”. Not sure if you’ve fought one but it’s basically you attack the Mesmer and once it’s “dead” it reveals that you only defeated the illusion of them and then you have to kill the real one. This idea I really like because it acts as a sort of “illusion of weakness” from the original game.
  9. I'll accept a "Minstrel" type E-Spec AS LONG as it has the following: New weapon is NOT yet another offhand. F1-F4 is replaced with an F1 or F1-F4 which acts as an instrument(s) unlocking varying weapon skills. Sort of like how Engineers have kits, the Mesmers will get "Instruments." If the idea of the above instruments is not given, and we only get a warhorn as a weapon, then the E-Spec needs to be a pure healing with secondary being buffs, E-Spec. Other than what I just mentioned, If its not along those lines then don't bother and would rather them give us something like a Bayonetta playstyle with a Main Hand Pistol and tricks/stances.
  10. Anything that “buffs” weapons should already be built into the weapon, I shouldn’t have to trait for it... Anything that’s in the grandmaster and isn’t a hard choice between the other two, needs to be removed and have something more viable. A lot of traits need to be switched/combined with traits in other traitlines. Trees need to have a better identity as to what they’ll give you. So far Domination does that wonderfully with it being the GO TO for PWR/DPS builds. While everything else has useless, questionable and traits that don’t align well with the tree it’s in. As some examples: Dom = Pwr Illu = Phantasms/Clones, CONDI Inspir = Boons & Healing (Inspir has some okay traits but better ones could be added to it) Chaos = Utility & Defensive Duel = Mobility & Crit Chrono = It kinda does and provides everything “too well”, which is not a bad thing but again, other especs won’t stand a chance against it because of how “meta” it is. Mirage = I was hoping for more access to confusion application but with it being “condi” focused, I think some traits need to be explored again. Additionally, Mirage given back their dodge in PvP/WvW.
  11. Mesmer **Warhorn** (which I don’t want nor do we need another kitten off band weapon just for two measly weapon skills). **Main hand Pistol** OR **Dual wielding Daggers** that are long range. Think of Irelia from LoL kind of style. These are the weapons that make the most sense for the next E-Spec but we’re not sure what we’ll get since it depends on the theme they’re going for when we go to Cantha. **But with that said:** Warhorn = Shouts Pistol = Tricks Daggers = Stances
  12. And this is why I NEVER rely on clones and just use Self Shatters. I swear, the next E-SPEC should NOT be reliant on clones or shattering. Direct all those damage/condition numbers into more useful skills/attacks.
  13. Ritualist Outfit! The Primeval Dervish Outfit has been in the store for months and I don't see why the Ritualist outfit hasn't been out the same length of time...
  14. Bumping. Here’s a question: What would everyone do/say IF they actually were going to introduce the Tengu as a playable race, starting their story in the Cantha region and also unlocking the Domain of the Winds in EoD??
  15. Protected phantasms is still a useless trait and I still believe phantasms should not be targetable or killable since they execute one attack (when not traited) and then immediately transform into a clone. So it makes no sense to have them be targetable. Additionally, there should be atleast 1 trait in the DOM or ILLU line that gives phantasms fury/might or whatever boon so then other wasteful traits such as protected phantasmas etc.... can be freed up for something new. Repeating myself but below are my thoughts taken from my previous thread on traits that need to be changed/removed/fixed: >! **Domination** >! _“Ideally should be personal damage focused aka the Power trait line, might, interrupts etc.”_ >! >! None (that I can think of) >! **Dueling** >! _“Ideally should be focused on mobility, reflects, vigor, swiftness, endurance etc.”_ >! >! **Change/Remove:** I feel that **Blinding Dissipation** should be moved into the **Master of Fragmentation** in the Illusion tree, so instead of shatter two crippling, it will blind. >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Duelists Discipline** should come free with the pistol and changed into something else. >! **Chaos** >! _“Ideally should be focused on condition damage, duration, confusion, retaliation etc.”_ >! >! **Change:** **Chaotic Transference**, the gain expertise based on your concentration should be removed since the top condition gears are Trailblazers and Vipers, which means we’re losing concentration and making this trait useless. Have it so that we gain expertise based on condition damage or even vitality. Again, if I’m wearing full trailblazers and have 0% concentration, I’m only getting half the benefit from this trait. >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Chaotic Persistence**, as a tier 3 trait, 2% doesn’t scream that viable to me. >! >! **Change:** **Chaotic Interruption**, move to the Dueling tree. >! >! **Change:** **Bountiful Disillusionment**, have it affect nearby allies as well? >! **Illusions** >! _“Ideally should be focused on shatters, illusions and phantasms. Pretty self-explanatory.”_ >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Escape Artist**, I love the name, but we already have **Desperate Decoy** and don’t have access to many stealth skills like the Thief. >! >! **Change:** **Malicious Sorcery**, remove the attack speed and have it come with the scepter weapon already as a base. Then add something along the lines of increased damage towards foes with confusion or torment by X%. >! **Inspiration** >! _“Lastly, I think this trait line should be our support tree, heals, boons and buffs to supportive utilities like glamours etc.”_ >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Restorative Mantras**, have tested it on a full Minstrel and healing to other allies build and the healing is barely noticeable. The healing should be at least a burst heal comparable to the well of eternity or have it’s healing increased. >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Wardens Feedback**, have it already be a part of the **Focus** weapon and replace the trait with something else towards our glamours, heal or boons. >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Protected Phantasms** don’t need protection if they turn to clones right after they’ve attacked, so this is essentially a waste slot and needs to be replaced with something else. >! >! **Change:** **Mental Defense**, remove the phantasm and perhaps have it so that Glamours reduce damage to allies standing in them or a trait that reduces condition damage/duration (maybe against torment and confusion). >! **Chronomancer** >! >! **Change/Tweak:** **Lost Time** and **Remove/Change Seize the Moment** as so far these two don’t match up to **Chronophantasma**. The last time I picked Lost Time was for my boon build when supporting. >! **Mirage** >! >! **Change/Remove:** **Mirage Mantle**, change it to something else. >! **Change/Remove:** **Dune Cloak**, I’d have this trait take the spot of Mirage Mantle and have.
  16. They should’ve given Mirage Dual Axes. That’s they’re biggest mistake for when they introduced the E-Spec and they better compensate for when EoD comes out...

I was gonna mention the Elonian and Vabbi ones but I figured since POF, anet had so much time to implement them in game. Tsk tsk tsk.
  19. I’d like for them to bring back the Ritualist outfit already or permanently add the outfit voucher in the gem store so we can choose which outfits we want. But to answer your question the outfits I’d like for them to add would be: Luxon Kurzick Ancient Imperial Norn And lastly, Obsidian
  20. **Mesmer wishlist for the next e-spec** Shatters no longer relied on for damage or rotation. More confusion & torment Faster casting utility skills **Other mentions:** I’d be okay with a healing focused espec but would prefer a pure damage/condition spec. I don’t want clones to be the focus and would rather them play a part in the background or atleast the back burner.
  21. > @"Stand The Wall.6987" said: > i can't figure this thing out. there are no heals (the heal well doesn't count), barely any cleanses, and yet its labeled as a support. why even go minstrel if you can't support lol? might as well go damage and at least contribute a little instead of being a complete dead zone of heal/ damage contribution. now if you grab mantra heal spammer, thats something i can understand. This is why "some" Mesmers on here who push others in the wrong direction should have their advice taken not literally. I'm usually in WvW and I usually run Pwr Chrono when I'm roaming alone or with groups. But since the majority of the time I'm helping the allied zerg, I'm 99.9% of the time going damage and picking off their backline or downed. THAT's how we support our team by just focusing on the weak ones and bursting them down to dwindle their numbers. There's really no point in running support unless perhaps Anet gives up a ton of healing and support skills for our next E-Spec, REGARDLESS of the 'few' utility skills that we can bring, they aren't exactly necessary when with an ally zerg unless coordinated otherwise. Everyone has different playstyles so if you excel and contribute more as a DPS chrono then I'd rather you go that. Support chrono and taking: * **Veil** that's cooldown is super long just for a 2s stealth is not worth it and will usually be replaced with Scrappers Stealth Gyro. * * **Null Field?** Again, why tell another Mesmer to bring something that only strips 1 boon at a time as opposed to Phantasmal Disenchanter that removes 5 boons and bounces 4 times. If Null Field did THAT then it'd be worth taking, other than that, if you're boon stripping, I'd take PD and if I'm condi cleansing, I'm taking MoR. * * **Portal.** Lastly, it's situational and depends on if you're communicating through discord and what not. But the majority of the time, Portals = Death in a lot of people's eyes, so, I wouldn't bother to take it with you unless told otherwise. If I wasn't DPSing and decided to go as a support, the skills I'd probably take with me are: **Illusion of Life Phantasmal Disenchanter Feedback Mimic Gravity Well and Blink _(which I feel is a must to have a break stun and a great emergency button if the enemy team does a surprise ambush on you)._**
  22. To be honest, I don't see adding the Tengus as a bad idea and it could probably work if they: * Didn't focus on making previous gear fit them and gave them different ones, while looking into making the others fit them perhaps down the road. * Since they wanted nothing to do with the rest of the races, their story can start in HoT/Cantha so then they wouldn't have to come up with so much back story in regards to Zhaitan etc... But as many others have said, it likely won't happen and I wouldn't be bummed if they weren't going to be added. I 100% welcome the idea since Tyria seems to be flooded with people picking mostly Human toons. Overall, Tengu isn't really a priority and I would rather them focus on Elite Specs.
  23. Legendaries are just for glamour. It’s not gonna give you any advantage over someone and someone will likely get their kitten kicked by someone in exotic or ascended lol...
