We shouldn't be beaten over the head with a metal bat, then be greatful when they decide to beat us with a wooden one. To add to this as well; Anet had no VALID right to remove Mirages dodge while EVERY.OTHER.PROFESSION, gets to keep all two. ADDITIONALLY, there should be no reason Mirage loses a dodge and Daredevil gets to keep their THREE dodges intaked! So when people say “oh well there has to be a trade-off.” Here’s a trade off, if they're gonna remove Mirages 1 dodge, then I suggest you do the same for Daredevil and heck, why not do it for everyone else. Won’t happen but everyone should understand the point I’m making. So when anyone in the GW2 community or say their “part” of the Mesmer community and are okay with the removal of Mirage dodge for the sake of “balance”, are no better than Anet. #Facts

That would be cool lol. But I’m pretty sure they would have it where he whispers to everyone just like what Jormag does. I think a lot of people would complain about Revs getting a little perk that only they can hear.

And these ladies and gentlemen are the hard facts that fall off deaf ears. Such is the Guild Wars 2 community that loves to blame Mesmers for everything when that's besides the case...
  4. A Shiro fractal would be great as well for EoD, or even a Raid revolving around Raisu Palace with Shiro being the end boss of course.

Anet really hates us Mesmers for some reason. :disappointed: > And it's not just pulls, i don't know if Mesmer currently has anything specifically better than some other class. Well let’s hope we get something unique in EoD. I’m still hoping for hexes, which would be a “Backwards Barrier” lol! xD

Never thought about the targeting which is a good point and I’ll also add that Anet wanting to create this I guess “Naruto clone jutsu” type of feel where our opponent is just gonna attack clones thinking it’s us, was and still is a complete fail because it simply doesn’t work. The CLOSEST skill IN-GAME that I keep mentioning that we should’ve gotten was the White Mantle Mesmers “Defeat to reveal” skill where they’re essentially a clone themselves, taking all the damage and when you think they’ve killed them, they reappear and you get the real one. THAT to me is what we should’ve gotten and just making all shatters go off on the Mesmer and that’s it. But anyways, making clones invulnerable I still agree is a balanced route since they don’t really deal damage and only inflict conditions/cc. Though clearly that’s a problem for me which funnily enough is not a surprise to me when there’s other professions that are more overloaded AND they make it seem like Scourges Shades aren’t already invulnerable and inflict conditions/cc. Lol....so people’s argument of “oh invulnerable clones/phantasms, too op” is not enough for me.
  10. A new stat combination I’d like to see in EoD is a: Condition Damage Condition Duration Power As nice as Vipers is, I feel since my precision is sitting less than 50% regardless of getting fury or spotter, I don’t really think it’s that useful of a stat. In groups that provide those boons I mentioned then sure, but if soloing or in WvW you’re not really gonna notice it. I personally believe they should merge the Condition Duration stat into the Condition Damage and have it where a certain % of condition damage increases your overall condition and cc duration. But it’s just a thought and not a must for me.

I agree and I actually was thinking that IF they ever decided to abandon clones/phantasms all together or perhaps just tie them into utility skills. I think they should maybe perhaps looking into replacing them with some form of “Phantasmal Weapon attacks.” So something along the lines of the original Guild Wars: Mesmer “Illusionary Weapon” and the Ritualists “Weapon Spells.”
  12. > > > > > > > @"Justine.6351" said: > > rofl ok, > Apparently never used CoR or any of the renegade summons. **But yes only mesmer has issues.** Our class has been nerfed and crippled the most than other professions out there so yes, Mesmers DO have a lot of issues that still have yet to be fixed... I still don’t see why they haven’t given the class a complete or minor overhaul.

But there is definitely some "clunkyness" with those 3 phantasms. Yeah that’s why if not instant then definitely 1/2 a second which is far more reasonable. As strong off hand sword is, I can justify its usefulness in a rotation when it’s so slow.
  14. Don't get me started on the cast time for: **Phantasmal Disenchanter, Swordsman and Defender** and how unbearably slow it is (EVEN with quickness). It needs to be instant or ½ ...
  15. Bumping because this proposal and AMAZING. I really hope you add to this post and come up with some concept for traits, utilities and an elite. Words can’t describe how great of a job you’ve done and the visuals make the post and the idea ten times better. <3
  16. > @"Yoci.2481" said: > They haven't even addressed the most basic problems of Mesmer and you people talk about the next elite. I don't understand this. Just as a friendly fyi, the Mesmer community has BEEN very vocal about the problems and unfairness to the nerfs we got so....if anet doesn’t want to listen then that’s they’re problem. Even though we won’t see EoD until perhaps fall or winter this year, the sooner they announce the new elites, the better so it gives us a chance to work towards builds/armour. (For those who are looking into picking up the new elite specs of course)
  17. Melandru doesn’t have a proper model such as Balthazar, Kormir etc... so I guess they were lazy and used the Sylvari model lol *shrugs*
  18. > @"Mungo Zen.9364" said: I believe that while you could bake all these traits into the prof mechanic, it doesn't actually improve anything unless there is something created to fill the void. > > So what do you suggest we replace these traits with? Is it Mesmer specific or does it apply to all professions? > Agreed that's why I mentioned that when those traits are merged within the Shatters, that it frees up space to have new and more unique traits to take their place. What that pertains too would obviously be up to Anet. But as I also mentioned, the "new" traits can revolve around affecting our utility skills/elite or the Mesmer themselves.
  19. Yeah nothing about this saga is/was exciting. We’re all just waiting for EoD and I hope we get some information on it really soon so we can start preparing for it.

Mesmer is still my favorite class to play however, so I was hoping to get some advice on these builds. > > https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Chronomancer_-_Power_DPS_(Fractal) > https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Mirage_-_Condi_Mirage > > These are the two builds I am looking at, I mainly do a bunch of open world stuff and dungeons and occasionally fractals. I also play some WvW but i was thinking of getting gear for a support chrono for that later. I just don't really know what's been nerfed and what not hahaha. Thanks again :) Heya and welcome back! So currently Pwr is the way to go for most if not all game modes and that's what I'm seeing a lot of Mesmers I'm affiliated with that are running, at least until we see what the new expansion has to offer. I have 3 ascended sets so I'll just provide you with the builds & gear I run for them below: **PWR** (I usually run for all gamemodes. The only thing I'll change is remove chrono and replace with dueling for optimal damage) http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAwyFlVwmYbMPWJO0WZNbA-zxQYhoj7bHEYp0UIUbBUREESCYy0IgzIA-e **SUPPORT** (My fractal gear mostly and sometimes will run for raids if quick boon is needed) http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAw2ZlNwWYOsD2Je6T5tXA-zRJYqR3fZ0bKkeF47s0+mF-e **CONDI** (I rarely use this but when I do it's in PvE or WvW - I also usually switch out Chaos for Inspiration for condi cleanses and improved signets) http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PiABs+trlVwwYJME2IWOP6rOA-zRJYkx/Y0NFCVB6nGF8sB-e Hopefully this helps and good luck!
  21. > @"Fueki.4753" said: > If it gets its dodge back in PvP, what's going to be the new trade off? > The Mesmers receive damage each time one of their illusions is killed? What kind of question is this lol? Let myself and people who actually have played the Mesmer for a long time fill you in on something. Mesmers should've NEVER had a dodge removed from them for PvP/WvW for the Mirage Spec. They crippled the entire spec doing that while everyone else gets to retain two dodges? You really think that's a fair trade off? Let's be realistic... because if you think that's fair then by all means, REMOVE two dodges from Thiefs Daredevil and then see the forums spike with uproars.
  22. > @"HotDelirium.7984" said: > > > > > But again, i wouldn't want that if it means further imbalance to the mesmer and further future nerfs that might eventually happen because of this. Because then anet nerfs one thing that affects all others that never needed nerfs in the first place due to how closely everything on mesmer is tied to the shatters and illusion generation. > > I guess internal software could make it generate other things in their stead like instead of clones and phantasms gain 10 stacks of might/gain 1,000 health etc. but that does lead to balancing issues for other traits. I updated my post but I'll mention here as to what I wrote just to bump the thread again. Basically, my thoughts in balancing are to merge shatter traits into the shatters themselves, which will free up a lot of traits to be filled with something else. Which I think would be great because it’ll give the class a chance to get unique and better traits that can be focused on the Mesmer itself or their utility skills and less on the shatter mechanic. I've gone through the entire list of shatter traits and it's very distasteful how there are so many of them, but it's 99.9% doable to have them simply "come with" the shatter(s). At first I was thinking maybe the next E-Spec would follow the same route as the Soul Beast and we'd get some form of stat buffs but I don't think they'd recycle something like that since it's nothing new.
