  1. I don't like Canach very much, he is sarcastic and not the friendliest lad to party with. I think we really need a decent bro replacement for Trahearne if there is no way for it to come back to life. There is enough sisteromance already, give me some bro love :D

I would consider also adding home decorations and NPCs just for the sake of variety.

If you argue that "well, all those guys SUCK," it makes no difference--that is your subjective opinion. The fact is, there is plenty of representation of male characters from all races and of all personality types. > "I want male characters that I PERSONALLY LIKE" is a valid want. However, your dislike of the current male cast doesn't mean there isn't enough/equal male representation. I am not talking about all the NPCs in the game, I am pointing my finger to the main NPCs who follow the commander in almost every story chapter, I have played all the available story PoF has to offer and I am currently playing LS2 and there are always Taimi, Caithe, Kasmeer, Marjory and Rox as female characters and Braham, Canach and Rytlock as male NPCs. It's wrong to talk about characters who don't actively take part on the story as often as these ones, and some NPCs are classified as males even though they shouldn't like Scruffy which is a construct. A few of the ones you mentioned have already turned bad guys and male characters are used predominantly as villains. We have only 1 female good elder dragon in the story, because Vlast has been butchered instead of being developed deeply. I can name a lot more female characters who haven't turned villains and are still alive, it makes no sense in this discussion to name characters that have not been developed deeply as much as the ones I have listed for you, so sorry if I have just killed your excitement. I STRONGLY think this game is in dire need of more deeply developed good male characters and good male elder dragons. Do you want to know what I don't like? I don't like NPCs who behave like teenagers, I am tired of listening to the annoying voice of *Taimi and the Kasmeer+Marjory sisteromance. Enough boys, Anet, give this game proper manly NPCs. *No offence to the voice actress who plays Taimi, she is a nice lady and I send her my blessings, but her voice in every story feels overwhelming.

You'll notice that most of the time the boons you have are the common ones like Fury, Might, Regeneration and Swiftness. This is because the boon application is uneven, and most of the time unless you have a specific group composition many of the boons in the game don't even come into play. > > While permanent uptime shouldn't be possible solo, it should always be the case in 5man+ with 2 supports. Well written, this is one of the suggestions I wrote not long time ago. Profession restricted dominance is a very bad thing and it doesn't promote variety.
  7. Guardian is in a decent spot but it's not doing better than other professions. If you have a look at snowcrows the benchmark is currently dominated by mesmers with 42k dps. Considering Anet is not going to nerf the current Meta builds I would rather buff those builds who are not in the Meta with a balance patch before EoD is released so the staff can focus on balancing the new elite specialisations.
  8. I currently play healbrand to help my guilds in raids and fractals when they are short on healers, healbrand as a second spec is always in demand. The current Meta for raid supports are druid and healbrand at the moment as tempest is stuck on the bottom tier for unknown reasons despite elementalist requiring a decent amount of skills to play it right
  9. My thoughts about Elementalist as a player who played this profession on all builds and modes. PvE: It's underpowered compared to the time and skills it takes to master this profession, needs buffs or a complete rework especially on the healing aspect of tempest PvP: Only viable as bunker build, this means we have to sacrifice all our damage to survive and compete for control. WvW: Not viable as a roamer for the average player, not valuable in zerg as its outperformed by other professions and it's currently out of the Meta. Open world: Squishy, too much efforts to play it right, not as bursty and tankier as other options like necromancers or mesmers. Overall if you are making one profession hard to master you should also reward players based on the high risk high reward otherwise it just cannot compete.
  10. I have already expressed my disappointment on support Elementalist in a feedback not long time ago. I hope the devs will bring it back into the Meta. I have an elementalist at max level and I don't know what to do with it because this profession feels pretty much underperforming for the efforts invested to master its mechanics. Tempest needs a rework.
  11. If your hardware has the requirements to run GW2 and Windows 10 I suggest you to use bootcamp from your utility folder and create a Windows 10 partition you can use to install GW2 and play the game. Windows 10 is free and this way you save money for the next expansion without giving up the game entirely
  12. Looks like you would be better off with a ranger, soulbeast is a good solo in WvW and if you want to play in zerg or raid as support you can play druid

It’s just that we’re given a month’s notice and it’s challenging to suddenly buy a new laptop/desktop. > > If we can still play GW2 on a Boot Camp Windows on our current Mac devices, it would be a big help as the Mac player-base transitions to Intel/AMD PCS. I can confirm you can use Bootcamp to make a partition on your hard drive where you can install Windows 10 for free and play GW2 with a 64 bit Windows client. The process is pretty much automatic but you have to download Windows 10 first. The newest iMac computers don't even need a flash drive to do the partition, which is good. The Windows client is more optimised than the Mac one from what I witnessed
  14. You can already do it by mastering the Crystal Champion and Griffon masteries. Use the bond of faith to launch from your mount and glide and then use the Griffon ability to mount up while gliding. I don't think this is something you can do with a Skyscale. So the only thing we need now are the updrafts, we definitely need a lot more of them in every game content.
  15. @""Veprovina.4876" You can't take Steam as the only representative of the world gaming market, you are not considering other game stores and Apple has its own game store as well. Please refrain from writing invalid arguments based on your opinions, you have no idea what your talking about. My claim still stands right, your assumption that the gaming market orbits around Windows is a pure old myth based on no evidence. Here is some food for your thoughts: https://www.wepc.com/news/video-game-statistics/
  16. Please don't start getting into the Apple vs everything else argument on my thread. I have had Windows for years in the past and I have had very bad problems with it, from viruses caught on secure websites, to black screens of death, OS crashing, data loss and those annoying windows update familiar to everyone
  17. I feel so kitten off today that I am not even in the mood to play Gw2 at the moment. Regards A very unhappy and unsatisfied customer
  18. Dear ArenaNet, please consider writing an official guide on how to allow MAC users to play GW2 in order to give players at least the chance to enjoy the game they paid for. Nobody is going to refund me my 80 Euros I have spent for the ultimate bundle 4 months ago and I don't think it's reasonable that someone has to spend all that money to see the game client sink all of a sudden.
  19. OpenGL is being deprecated by Apple because it's not an efficient tool to use the hardware at its full potential, it will soon be deprecated on all platforms. What is ArenaNet doing about it? You can't live forever on a thin line and false hopes that OpenGL will last forever. Good luck with that. Game development was never meant to be an easy job.
  20. > @"Sansar.1302" said: > in windows guild wars use dx9 NOT OpenGL You are just reinforcing my argument where I have claimed that even Windows is dumping OpenGL. From google search: Does Windows 10 have OpenGL? "Pretty much any OpenGL error is caused by a lack of optimization of drivers for Windows 10. This means that if you run your favorite games smoothly in previous versions of Windows, you might experience some graphic card issues in Windows 10."
  21. > @"Veprovina.4876" said: > They're dropping it because Apple is making it impossible to code cross platform for developers. They're moving to proprietary chips and an entirely different architecture that current code doesn't work on well, and in the future might not even work, especially because Apple is not known for supporting their older systems. And they're not about to code a new client from scratch just to accomodate Apple's stuff. Sure it kinda still works now, but one new Apple chip later andthe support for the current OS is gone. Probably a few other reasons but, that's the "Apple way". > > It's the same why most developers don't code their games for Linux. First, there's like, no market share for them, Apple maybe, but not gaming related so not much market there. And second, there's a lot of effort involved into coding, and maintaining 2-3 different clients. It's not like this is a single player game where you code once, publish and maybe update a few times before you forget about it, the updates need to be constant. And since Apple is dead set on making developer's lives harder with the decision they made - that means double the work for every update of GW2. Linux at least is bridging the gap between Windows and Linux. Apple is widening it. Your assumptions are full of flaws and one in particular is just a myth: "> It's the same why most developers don't code their games for Linux. First, there's like, no market share for them". The current market on apple devices is currently growing and a lot of people use Linux, but hey...There are always people like you who don't know and fuel the stereotype where only Windows deserve the whole gaming market cake. You are not considering gaming companies just don't want to invest in improving the quality of their products anymore. There are better alternatives than OpenGL, go and read them.
  22. Will Bootcamp allow MAC users to continue playing the game using the Windows client or not? Looking at GeForce Now I see no reason to buy a new computer anymore, it's ridiculous how gaming companies have kept using low rendering technology for years without investing money into more profitable and better quality alternatives, easy money I suppose...
  23. Deadeye has little mobility due to the kneel feature, it has to rely on stealth in order to survive. Why don't you run stealth reveal and learn how to counterplay instead of asking for nerfs which would cripple a whole profession and make it useless? All thieves rely on the stealth mechanic to make up for the lack of block and lack of heavy armor.
  24. I can confirm this Sickle has been bugged since the beginning of Wintersday 2020. A fix is required
