  1. They *really* need to think about the words that are put into the character's mouths. It's just so... Unbelievably bad. "What? No! ... We have to fix this!". Who wrote that rubbish? There are dead bodies littered on the ground and Braham talks about "fixing" that. What are they going to do, give the corpses a wee tune up? Good as new!

The entire trailer had really dire voice acting and dialogue seemingly written by children brought up watching nothing but endless Hollywood blockbuster trailers. I've been playing PoF and it's almost heart breaking to watch such amazing environment and creature design get so completely and utterly squandered by the poor voice acting and writing.

  2. Holes? That was what bothered you about *that* instance OP? Good Lord. I was triggered by the freaking stairs that SPIRAL INTO THE WALL, and the invisible walls *everywhere*, and by just how awful a character Kasmir is, and by how pointless talking to Komir was, and by just hos generally bland the story is.

The sandy bit with the puzzle was neat though.

    > warrior is one of the classes which doesnt get weaker at all. ANets favourite child, like many love to say

Yeah what the hell, the damage on e.g. Precision Strike is more or less halved in spvp according to gw2skills, hundred blades on the other hand is like 80% effective. Trolol. Rev OP!

  5. Less trollishly latency is usually a physical issue, barring faulty hardware. Your high latency is probably due to the increased distance between your PC and the servers, so there's not a lot you can do about it. What's your internet connection quality generally like? There's always the possibility that you have a bad wifi signal or crappy cable. I had an issue with my ISP having a constantly low signal down the line in my new house, they kept insisting there wasn't a problem but then most of the city started experiences outages. If you open a console window (windows and R, then type cmd) and type "ping -t www.google.com" what is the latency reported back?

  6. One of my other favourite games - Elite Dangerous just added a major new UI feature to enable the use of an in-game shop linked to microtransactions. The result was similar - horrendous bugs touching all aspects of game play. I do not understand how a UI can be designed so poorly that it affects other elements of a game that should be protected. For instance, how on Earth should a build template system be able to strip enchants?

Yes $$ is what keeps the lights on. It will be interesting to see if any more expansions get put together, or if LW is the way to go again like they tried after retail release. I'd love another expansion but it may not be financially feasible.

  8. Hi ladies and gents at Arena Net. As a long time player of GW2 and a fan of your work (especially zone/level design) I just wanted to say cheers, your game is quite good and now that you are giving HoT away perhaps I can convince some IRL friends to give it a go. Here's to 7 (I think?) more years of a good game.

    > Hey he the person that said Dwarf was defense role. It's up to Swag to explain that. Define what makes one legend defense or not.

Perhaps because all but one of his skills are about control and... Gee. I don't know, defence?

How about you explain why you are unwilling to accept the rather obvious.

That's basically true for most of the dialogue. It makes little sense and people - sentient, intelligent creatures, just wouldn't act the way they do in the game. A case in point - the sheer childishness of many of the characters, Destiny's Edge's squabbles, the commander (player) indulging their every flight of fancy instead of putting their foot down like a commander would, etc. I get the feeling that whoever writes the dialogue at ANet perhaps lacks the required life experience to really explore the interactions and ideas that the game sets out for its characters. It's almost like a cheap fanfic, instead of the fleshed out novel the world's set pieces demand.
