Fractals were meant to be bite sized dungeons that you do 3 a day but now the new fractal team thinks they're normal sized dungeons you have to do 3 of a day..it's draining. The reason fractals were set up in 3's was because all 3 combined were meant to be equal to one full dungeon, not THREE DUNGEONS COMBINED like the new ones. All the new fractals are far too long and they keep revamping old ones to be longer ;/ Why was molten bosses made so long...?

I did it last night, it has been lengthened / t3 is longer. It used to be a dash down a gantry and across the bridge to the two bosses but at least in t3, it's now a little bit longer with a couple of bosses beforehand. Perhaps it is different depending on the tier it is played at? If I recall level 40 was the one that got farmed endlessly.

    It got changed I believe

Oh sure Sevenshot is terrible, I absolutely agree there. But I thought we were discussing skill #2, and while I do agree that it's not great it's good enough. I noticed some people have looked at this from a pvp viability perspective but imo the whole shortbow itself is bad news for pvp viability - all the SB skills are bad in that mode, not just #2.

People like that guy you responded to are why people voted yes in the poll, dare I say there's an l2p issue among the Rev players? :P

  5. My Rev is pure Viper's, or rather was, until her accessories got a stat reset recently and now I can pick them again. That got me thinking, maybe I'm done with my Viper's / Kalla / Fractal build. Maybe I want to choose a new set of stats that would possibly suit a wider selection of game modes such as wvw as well. But having not played for a while I don't want to muck this up. So:

    * My weapons and armour are Viper's and ascended.

    * I have a set of power swords (including Bolt) that are also ascended but the secondary weapon is exotic (staff and hammer)

    * I also have a set of zerker accessories somewhere, possibly, which may also have been stat reset? Who knows.

I was thinking of switching to Diviner's to carry groups in fractals with alacrity, but I'm unclear whether that actually means pure Diviner's stats or some mix.

I play in Fractals mostly, and in WvW occasionally.

Advice from my fellow 1%'ers that also play Rev very much welcome :)

    > I think Arenanet missed an opportunity with raising the Skyscale here. We got to "pick" our own egg to carry around for all the collections, but not really. I wish we truly would have been able to pick 1 of 21 slightly different sized and colored eggs. The resulting Skyscale could be 50/50 male or female, with the pronoun Gorrik chooses determining what sex we got. We could also have a different randomized base color for our baby Skyscale (which would be changeable once the mount is unlocked, but still). It would personalize OUR chosen Skyscale a little bit.

Well he, she, or undefined by rare chance which gives you an extra skill that launches hell-fire missiles and makes helicopter noises.

  7. You can run a Diviner's Revenant that mixes support and damage. The idea is apparently to keep alacrity up at all times for your party. I'm considering switching to that build after my accessories got that free stat reset but I am going to need to do more research. Check the metabattle site for builds if you are interested.

With respect to Power Rev, the damage it deals is perfectly acceptable even in T4 fractals, but it's not "the best" that's for sure. As others have said, it's a little dull as well (so I'm not sure how much better Diviner's would be).

I really like the Revenant and have mained it since it was released, but even I don't currently use swords. IMO for Rev, Viper condition is more exciting for PvE damage because the rotation is absolutely mental, plus you have a ton of cool party buffs from your summons. SO, I would go Chrono if you are set on swords, it sounds more exciting.

In which case it has dongle privelege.

    Oof, rude but funny ;)

Uh oh, just 4 posts in and somebody has already taken offence! I wonder, would you similarly be offended if somebody questioned why another mount was a he? Video games folks: They are Sherious Business!

OP apparently castrated male horses are easiest to control, while female race horses are more difficult but perform better. Maybe the Skyscale is female to reflect its fiercely independent nature?

  11. Wait wait wait. Hold on. You mean to say you lot have actually paid attention to the shlock they called a story in this game ever since Destiny's Edge and their High-School angst were introduced? Welcome to reality I suppose, the story is not the reason I play this game - the map design on the other hand is superb.

  12. I tried playing the latest wow expac with friends a few months ago, it was God awful. Even with friends it's just no fun at all in every respect. I just kept thinking, I wanted them to play GW2 and see what a good, fun MMO is like. Alas I'm the only person I know IRL that plays GW2, but that's fine, WoW is just so bad.

  13. Surprised Taimi is so highly favoured, I'd love to see her die. Horribly. Feet first.

Canach is the obvious choice though, he actually has some wit and isn't just another diversity check box ticked >.>

I also rather like Caithe - she's rather unpredictable and also seems to have a genuine motive and reason for existing.

    > Trib mode takes a very long time and there is no way to save progress. This makes it completely inaccessible for someone that does not have several hours in a row to sink into a game. Like...people with jobs, second jobs, school, homework, extracurriculars, etc. It also means that if anyone experiences even one short DC, they could lose hours of progress. Expecting everyone to have internet connections that literally never drop is unrealistic at best (let alone if you're trying to do it in a party - that leaves multiple points of failure...)

Tribulation mode isn't for everyone, it is brutally difficult if you don't know what you are doing. With practice it is perfectly possible to do world 2 zone 2 (the most difficult trib level) in about 15 minutes. The other zones come in at 3-12 or so minutes, again assuming you have figured out the route.
