  1. Using Windows 7. When I update to the newest version of d912pxy (Release v2.3.1), and activate it, I get the following error message on game start:

    ```
    ---------------------------
    Guild Wars 2: Gw2-64.exe - System Error
    ---------------------------
    The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------
    ```

    The previous Version v2.3 works fine. Any clues?

    It will never be completely fixed. Part of the problems are caused by a DigitalRiver AI system trying to automatically detect fraudulent transactions. But this system is far from perfect so many legitimate transactions are blocked. These will probably only stop when ArenaNet stops using Digital River as their e-commerce partner, and I read nothing suggesting they will.

  3. I think the overall reduction of communication and involvement of ArenaNet employees with the forums is the main reason for the increase of an overall atmosphere of toxicity here at the forums. The community wants to get heard. Players want to communicate their concerns, ideas and suggestions to the ArenaNet team, but hardly ever get a reply. This leads to frustrations. Nothing against moderation, I understand that we need to keep the forum tidy but when the chance is greater to get a warning by an anonymous forum moderator than to get your voice heard, then this does not leave forum contributors with a positive feeling. Players have for example asked for years for the status of the WvW alliance system that was announced years ago. And asked for years if GW2 could get native DX11, DX12 and/or Vulkan support. Why isn't there anyone at ArenaNet to address these questions?

    While overall, I think that the GW2 community is still quite friendly and helpful and in love with the game. Even when there is a lot left to wish for. But when the community feels that they are heard, that the many ideas, suggestions, complaints are noticed by ArenaNet by getting replies, then I think toxicity will largely go away here.

    Of course, we as community also need to do our part. Do we really need ten threads about the question if GW2 is dying or not? But more than 50% of the threads are directly or indirectly addressed at ArenaNet. And while I understand not every one of them can get a reply, more involvement would be the key to a better atmosphere here.

    This concern is directed towards ArenaNet and I hope to get a reply.

  4. While GW2 development is not going to be as far as I would have hoped for, it is still one of the most successful western MMO games. I do not see a reason at all why it would come to an end anytime soon. The franchise is too valuable to just shut it down. There are many way smaller MMOs that are still online and/or in active development. Things like Everquest, Everquest II, Runescape, Lord of the Rings Online and even Meridian 59 (1996).

    NCSoft is an uncertain factor in these times where most of their revenue comes from Korean and mobile games. But if NCSoft would ever decide that ArenaNet/GW is no longer fits in their portfolio, then the most logic outcome would be that they sell the studio or split it off. Just like LotRO changed hands a few times. (Turbine+Codemasters/Turbine+WB games and now Standing Stone games)

    And believe me that LotRO is tiny in comparison to GW2.

    And yes, a lot could be improved. I would love to see game/rendering engine improvements. WvW updates with the alliance system. Far better communication and involvement between ArenaNet and the community which would greatly reduce the amount of toxicity here in the forums.

    But I'm happy with the expansion announcement, the continued living world releases and I am deeply thankful to ArenaNet for making the franchise I call home since 2006. And the fact that even GW1 still has its servers online and gets occasional updates reassures me for the future of the franchise.

    I don't think a fourth expansion or a GW3 is not a consideration just yet.

    It makes your character a lot better in PvE. I appreciate the fact that some aspects like mastery points can be gained exclusively by achieving/leveling things in game.

    Not everything should be for sale. And this is one of them imo.

    > To make things even ~~worse~~ more realistic, allow harvesting of nodes on the map only after buying gathering license which lasts until the change of maps with gold, or permanent license with gems, cost of said license calculated dynamically based on average TP worth of all map nodes.

    Also, add medical bills for when your character gets treated or revived. And add a mandatory health insurance that does not cover the costs if your character needs extended medical support.
