They did say stuff will update over time. I'm guessing they are desp trying to stretch all this out as long as possible > > I enjoyed the dialogue sequences a lot, but the content was rather dull - mostly due to the bosses health pools being massively too high Have to agree, I've finally caught up on the story but I found some of this content a bit dull as well. I was a little disappointed with all the new stuff being party based.. that said it wasn't an awful experience and considering it was party based it was actually done quite well, specially when you compare it to the old dungeon story modes which are a real pain to experience casually when everyone just wants to rush and skip everything.. I would prefer to have my story content solo personally just so I can play at my own speed, it felt a little to pressuring to rush along with other people around.. no time to explore or anything and I don't like that when i'm playing something new for the first time. As for the bosses.. yeah, far too beefy in the HP department and the fights just dragged on a bit too long, even regular enemies had a bit too much hp imo I don't mind the improved damage they do though, that made for more enjoyable fights but the high HP they have just makes it drag on too long.
  2. Yes although for the sake of story spoilers etc I would not advise you rush ahead to PoF to unlock the Raptor. If you have PoF and you just want a general mount to get around a bit faster then I would advise you go into WvW instead and unlock the Warclaw then use that in PvE. It's a little slower than the Raptor but they have similar jump abilities. The Raptor does jump further than the Warclaw but I haven't used a Raptor without the mastery that upgrades it's jump skill in a very long time so I'm not sure how much difference there is between the base Raptor Leap and the Warclaws Dash. Either way Warclaw will serve you just as well as the base Raptor will in PvE without you needing to skip ahead and spoil any story. Plus Warclaw is the only mount you can use in WvW so if you end up enjoying that game mode it's definitely worth having.
  3. It's very close for me between the Raptor, Skyscale, Roller Beetle, Skimmer, Warclaw and Griffon. Skyscale is going to get the win just because of two factors.. freedom of movement and it's a dragon!! (I love dragons ^^) Raptor remains my go to mount for most play though and is probably the mount I use most, plus it has the best dismount ability (AoE pull) which makes it easy to just blast a ton of AoE attacks and do huge damage before enemies have a chance to start beating on you. The Warclaw i'm fond of for 2 reasons. 1. It makes WvW maps far less tedious to get around and for me at least more enjoyable, no more getting screwed by ambushes because I have movement skills equipped to get around faster, plus no more falling behind zergs because you missed out on the speed buffs. Warclaw fixed both those annoying problems for me which greatly increased my enjoyment when playing this game mode. 2. Warclaw serves as a good PvE mount if you don't want to use (or at least want to limit the use of) the PoF and Living world mounts but you still want to take advantage of the movement speed increase that mounts provide. This reasoning is also why I think Warclaw should be a core world mount accessible to everyone without needing PoF, it would also be good incentive for people to come and try out WvW content. Skimmer has become significantly more enjoyable and appealing to me since it gained the ability to go underwater. I am a big fan of Underwater content in Gw2 and I believe this area of the game has massive untapped potential which Anet has not fleshed out yet. Ever since PoF came out and added mounts to the game an underwater mount became one of the main things I really wanted in GW2. Finally I now have one and I love it, ^^ even if don't get to use it very often due to limited underwater content, specially in newer content. Roller Beetle and Griffon. I like these two for the same reason, Gotta go Fast!!! Bombing around on these two mounts at max speed is an absolute blast.. pun intended. The Griffon unfortunately demands a little more set up and is more punishing when you screw up and loose your speed but gives more freedom when you have room to zoom around in the air. The Beetle on the other hand is much easier to get going and recover from a screw up but requires a lot more skill, practice and map knowledge to control and use effectively. The beetle however is by far the most rewarding mount in the game to learn how to use and once you get good at using it, it does feel very satisfying when you can drift around everywhere really quickly without constantly smashing into everything xD Great mount, great fun ^^
  4. Running Gw2 at max is not advisable imo.. At best I'd say high is where you wanna aim for due to needlessly adding performance drops pushing for minor visual improvements. There is so much skill spam, effects and other things in the game that will overwhelm even beefy computers.. that's why many large events start to lag out for most players. Frozen Maw being so notorious for this that people regularly joke about the FPS drop while fighting it. When it comes to hardware though you want to focus on CPU more than GPU. You'll also want higher speed rather than more cores since GW2 doesn't take advantage of multi core CPU's as well as other games do so high speed CPU's are far more advisable than more cores for this game.

This is with no power/precision/ferocity stat. Pure condi with 91% damage contribution from burning. It's not bad! > > Figured as much :) I've not played much ele tbh last time I ran a condi build on Ele they only had 1 elite spec lol
  6. For PvE the main thing i'd say is most important for condition play is the ability to fast stack damage.. last thing you want is to be wasting time slowly stacking conditions which is the main reason I give up playing a condi Necromancer in PvE a good few years back.. It's just too slow. In most cases power gets it done much quicker which is why most just go with power builds and will often try to talk you out of playing condi in PvE but if you're intent on having a good condition PvE character then go for something that can stack lots high damage conditions like burns really quickly. Guardian and probably Engineer would be your best bet there.. maybe Ele too but i've not much experience with those classes, specially on condition builds. Revenant i've some experience with though, you can get a good bit of damage from Torment pretty quickly on them as well.
  7. I think the best thing they could do for dungeons would be to add a hard mode option. Bulk up the token reward for hard modes and add a new ascended weapon set and trio of armour sets for each dungeon with an Elite status. Anet would never do this though, they don't really want people going back to old content much when they're so focused on making new content all the time. It's counterproductive.
  8. I'm not playing much due to the lag issues, they've kinda killed my will to play over the last few months. I expect i'll start playing more once the voice patch and new episode release since i'll have a lot of new content to experience for the first time. It's pretty common for people to come back around a new content release anyway, but not everyone sticks around and farms new maps. Personally I don't care for farming so if I stick around and farm new maps over and over I get so sick of them that I never want to play them again.

While I 100% agree and have voiced my concerns about that quite a bit as of late. I gotta admit, I love how you worded that XD brilliant. I actually kinda enjoyed Iron Fist too hahahaha but still, well done lol
  10. Main problem is the launcher pads, they can lag out sometimes and screw you out of a jump, specially the ones leading upto the diving goggles but this has always been a problem. Despite efforts to stop it, you can still skip most of the puzzle using mounts though.
  11. Nice, did you also block her from taking the first bite and say sorry, aegis :D
  12. Thought about this a bit myself too. Mounts being a thing has already lead to reduced waypoints being added to new content so I expect something similar for Cantha. Maybe we won't get Waypoints.. maybe there will be something else that from a lore perspective is different but mechanically will function the same. In Siren's Landing we had Shrines that you could teleport to just like waypoints (minus the fee) but you couldn't use them unless you were on that specific map. Anet could also maybe do a throwback to Gw1 and have certain outpost locations serve as fast travel points but have it so that we don't teleport to them but travel to those locations offscreen.. mechanically the same but lorewise, different.
  13. I have a scenario in my head for how the Ice Brood Saga might end, in that scenario we end up having to flee through a portal/rift that Aurine creates without knowing exactly where we will end up. We end up stranded on Cantha and now have to deal with the Empire hunting us as foreign invaders while trying to find a way to get back to the mainland.
  14. Some people are just unhappy about the state of the current game and the direction it is going. Those I find are the ones who say the game is dead/dying. Most of us disagree and don't feel the same way.

  16. Above 2 comments are 100% correct. Minions need time to fully respawn or they will die the next time you mount. It doesn't take very long but if you're a regular minion player then this is something you have to get used to playing around. It's quite easy to get used to it though so don't worry.
