The pact wasn't infested, he corrupted hundreds of Sylvari in that very moment the Pact's attack started by giving them false wyld hunts through the dream. Nobody could have predicted this, it was a perfectly crafted ambush and the only way the pact could have avoided this would have involved discriminating and excluding the entire Sylvari race from the pact during this campaign based on no real grounds to do so other than fears.. fears which would have been considered unjustified at the time. Doing that would have likely driven more of them to Mordremoth as well as oppressed people tend to get very angry and lash out at those doing the oppressing, but it never would have happened either since the pact was lead by a Sylvari at the time as well and Traherne never would have accepted such treatment of his people based on their race, nor should he have. There was no way to avoid this event occurring.

That said it wasn't just Mordremoth's vines striking airships out of the sky though, it was countless corrupted pact Sylvari that had fallen to Mordremoth as well which sabotaged the entire plan and launched a surprise attack on their pact allies. It was a devastating blow to the pact that they didn't see coming.

That was pretty much their plan.. bomb the ever loving hell out of Mordremoth with overwhelming force. Mordy threw a vine in that plan though.
  4. > @"Milkshake.4370" said: > **Omitted Content Detracts New Players** > Firstly, I must say that I really enjoyed playing through all the episodes of GW2 however, **I was truly only hooked after reaching Heart of Thorns**. > I am originally a console gamer and only now started getting into PC gaming and I feel that the first half of GW2 (Level 1-80 + Living World S2) is not on parr with the modern gaming world. I understand that the game was just starting out at this point and did not have a high budget, however I feel this may be a reason why the game is struggling to attract new players. > I've called out this problem in the past as well and feel like Gw2's early game content, specifically the personal Story, Lw1 and Lw2 could benefit from a sort of "remaster" update. I know this would be a huge workload for the developers and it would take a lot of time but honestly.. this is something I want and have wanted for years almost as badly as I want new expansion content, no joke.. i'm dead serious on that and have said multiple times in the past that I am 100% willing to suffer a massive new content drought so the devs can work on improving the early game content. What I think needs to be done.. honestly is not all that much but would be a lot of work. First of all Vanilla Gw2 needs a bit of a difficulty buff in the later game regions (like Orr) to balance it out more with the years of power creep the game has had. Atm it's far too easy for players to get complacent with some build they pulled off a website somewhere and not really knowing how to play it right can still steamroll through content until they hit the difficulty spike in HoT.. which usually results in angry posts here about how hard HoT is despite the countless nerfs the content has had to reduce that. The problem is that nothing prepares you for HoT.. that's why the spike exists and always will exist, and that's a flaw with the Vanilla GW2's end game content. The core game needs to do a better job at encouraging players to learn their classes.. experiment with the build system etc and making the end game pve content a bit harder to bridge that difficulty gap with HoT might just be what the core game needs. Secondly the personal story needs to be remastered and brought upto par with HoT. How I imagine this to be done is by scrapping the existing "cutscene" dialogue segments and replacing them with the same style of in game dialogue that has become the normal standard of storytelling in Gw2 since HoT came out. Since the dialogue is already voiced and in game I don't think this is an impossible thing to do.. it's just very time consuming but I believe it would absolutely be worth doing. I am fine with much of the text based dialogue remaining as it is for the personal story however I would not oppose new voiced dialogue replacing a bunch of it either. Thirdly Living world 2 content could use some additional voice work to bring it upto par with HoT onwards, there is a bit too much reliance on text in lw2 imo and I think that could be remedied by having some new voiced dialogue done to replace some of it. Additional note: I also agree with those who say that season 2 is a bad buy compared to other seasons, you're not getting new masteries, new mounts, new maps or anything of the sort with season 2 like you do with season 3 and 4 so what you are paying for is pretty much just the story content and a few achievements. This is a problem and could very well leave some players feeling like they wasted their money on this season which could be a red flag for them not to buy any more content for Gw2.. a bad bad bad! attitude for them to develop. I agree this season needs to either become free to play or should be included free with the HoT expansion. Lastly and most importantly, Living world 1 needs to be re-introduced into the game as replayable content.. this one alone is by far the biggest sin for Gw2. I am never going to stop banging this drum. This story content not being in the game is a huge problem for me as someone who cares about the story of this game and having this huge hole in the story bothers me immensely and has done for many years. Re-adding LW1 needs to be a high priority imo and should Anet ever do a big remaster of the core game with all the dialogue upgrade's ect that I think they should then these also need to be applied to the LW1 remaster as well. These few changes are pretty much the only things I really want for the pre HoT game and I would be more than content with this content if it ever got these upgrades. > It is difficult to follow or invest into a story, especially when you feel you have started in the middle. Especially the missions where players have to go through Scarlett's belongings, secret hideout, and follow her trail, her memories. I did not know who Scarlett was and the short recap provided in game was not enough to create a fulfilling experience to me as a new player. > I think this is a huge huge turn off for newer players. > I agree, this bothers me as well even though I played and experienced the entire LW1 content. This is the main reason I am never going to stop supporting the remaster/reintroduction of LW1 content into the game.. it is as/more important to me than any new content coming to the game and the more new content they add the more annoying this giant hole in the story is to me. > **Heart Of Thorns** (HoT) > This is where the game takes a huge turn for the better. Absolutely everything is improved; music, sound design, world design, story, writing. Literally everything about this expansion was **_incredible, captivating, and immersive._** The only reason I played to get to HoT was because I saw my partner playing this expansion and it was very different from Level 1-80 and LWS2. If I was a newer player, I would never have paid for this expansion or even gotten to it based off of the experience I had with the gameplay prior. Somebody in my guild compared this to a restaurant, which forces the patrons to eat an entire loaf of bread before giving them the ordered food. Some people are full after the loaf of bread, most people don't even finish it and get to their meal. I think that this may be a source for the dwindling GW2 new player numbers and ArenaNet's revenue. There is very little encouragement or incentive for new players to purchase expansions or spend money on the game, when the initial opening content is so boring and slow. This sets an incorrect precedent and expectation for what the paid expansions will be. > Again I agree and still blame the core game's lacking endgame content for this problem. By the time you get to HoT you should be playing at the level required to not get massacred by everything in that content but the core game and LW2 to some extent as well does an atrocious job at preparing you for HoT. Fixing the core games endgame and upping it's difficulty would be the best solution to this problem imo and get people wanting more. > **Living World Season 4 - INCREDIBLE but Lack of Marketing?** > As the game progresses after HoT, it keeps getting better and better. With more mastery points and mounts, the story, sound design, and music reaches incredible potential and structure. If I wanted to get people to play the game, I would be pushing and screaming for them to play Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire, or Living World Season 4. I don't understand why ArenaNet hasn't pushed for certain aspects of these expansions in their marketing campaigns. > I don't know much about marketing etc but Living world 4 has been by far my favourite content in Gw2. Some of the best Gw2 moments imo are in LW4 and I disagree severely with those who claim that season 4 was hot garbage or a big disappointment.. I love this season.

We were given 3 different names to choose from. The other options were, The Unbroken and Eternity's Guard. > Also when u compare all the humor dialogue the game got in compare to before u noticed a style change to the popular marvel humor. > Gw2's always had a childish sense of humour even in the personal story there were some good laughs so I don't really see much in the way of a "style change" as you put it regarding humour.. it's still pretty childish at times but still funny. If anything the game has gotten slightly more mature and a bit darker over the years which imo was a big positive from the more kiddy friendly way this game started out.. everyone was far too happy and vanilla and cheesy back in the early days of the game.. something I think Anet has remedied quite a lot over time.
  6. > @"Balsa.3951" said: > Lack of creativity and self-confidence > End of Dragons/ End of Jedi > Heart of Thorns / Game of Thrones > > Very embarrassing.... > > > Being original is a risk for big companies now Gw2's expansion names have always had a direct meaning or reference to the story, I don't agree that they just ripped off something else that is popular. The Heart of Thorns is a legitimate relevant location in the Magumma Jungle. Path of Fire is a reference to the war campaign the God of Fire waged across Elona. End of Dragons we expect to be the finale of the Elder Dragon main storyline of Gw2 which has been ongoing for almost a decade. They're not just random words that are irrelevant to the game, neither are their logo's which typically depict an Elder Dragon that play's a relevant part in that expansion's storyline.. hence why many believe the DSD is going to be the big bad antagonist of the expansion since it's clearly depicted in the logo.
  7. Another major thing that screws over racial skills is the level locked access to utilities. By the time you've leveled up enough to unlock your utility and elite skill slots you've likely already unlocked class skills to fill them. Anet could easily remedy this problem by removing those level locks and having all players able to use all their racial skills as soon as they create a new character.. basically racial skills would now act as starter skills until you replace them with class skills and players would be able to get a nice bit of use out of them, especially their racial elites in the earlier parts of the game. This alone would be a pretty nice QoL improvement for racial skills imo and I expect it would be almost effortless for Anet to do as well.
  8. An underwater variant of a Tangled Depths like map full of caves etc that are air pockets where we can fight on land against some enemies and have story chapters there. On the top of the water there are various floating platforms and a canopy style area like in Verdant Brink with a few small islands or giant tree's coming out of the water that can be climbed and explored too. A gigantic new world boss that must be fought both underwater and on land via the use of floating platforms and siege located on nearby islands. This kind of map concept has been something i've wanted in Gw2 since before Gw2 even had a living world :P
  9. Agreed. Racial skills in general need some improving or need to be redesigned into something new.. such as gimmicky F6+ skills that add some racial flavour to PvE characters without breaking the game.
  10. Yes but not to the addition of a 4th traitline.. that would greatly hurt the game more than anything. I'm voting yes purely for the addition of new minor traits per line that give us a choice. Occasionally I find myself running builds that don't always make use of certain minor traits.. thus the traits are completely wasted. Having a choice in this area would be nice to have and would give a little more build diversity overall without causing any major balance problems. I think the optimal amount of minor traits would be 2 which would give us 6 total minor traits per each specialisation line to complement the 9 Major traits per line we already have. Another thing I want to note as well. Every single character should get a build template slot exclusively for underwater content. When you cross into underwater your headgear changes, your weapons change and your utility skills change but your Traits do not!.. We need an underwater build template so that we can setup a purely underwater build that our characters will automatically swap too whenever they enter water.

Hehe no more dumber than duel maces tbh ^^ That's more a thing with in game skins though, Gw2 maces are mostly on the ridiculous side when it comes to shape and size, most of them wouldn't make practical weapons in reality, specially duel wielded lol There are far worse offenders than duel sceptors when it comes to things that look dumb in this game.. borderline every infusion, the vast majority of outfits, pretty much every legendary tier weapon, armour and trinket and more or less all the premium and special mount skins.. all qualify there XD

Those scepters are quite large for that model. Utterly silly looking in my opinion. He's one of the NPC's in the Ascalon Catacombs dungeon. It does look pretty silly though lol The scepter's he's using are obtainable in game (It's called Emberglow) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Emberglow and they are genuinely that big on players too, like one handed staff's XD He's one of the more well known NPC's in the game that uses unconventional weapons like that which has occasionally lead people to think duel Sceptors maybe a thing one day. I'd certainly like to see this combo tbh specially since no playable class so far has been given this combination. Much like Duel Shields and Duel Focus this would be entirely unique to the first class that gets it.
  13. We've only seen Primordus in Lw3 so far and just his head but from artwork etc as well the design concept of him in Gw2 he seems to be quite Crocodilian like. Considering that it's now been confirmed that Primordus is Jormag's twin I imagine Primordus to be similar in design to Jormag as well. So when I think of Primordus and try to imagine what he will look like I tend to think of a giant Lindwurm Dragon with a Crocodile like head. To give a visual example.. stick Primordus's head onto this artwork example I found online.. and then imagine it all Destroyer themed and you'll get a general idea of what I expect Primordus will look like when he has a full body model in Gw2. ![](https://imgur.com/sXIJEM2.jpg "") The main 2 things about Primordus that causes a bit of discussion amongst fans is his size and his drastic change from how he looked back in Gw1. I actually have a theory explanation that I have suggested in the past that would be a cool solution to these issues. The Primordus we see in LW3 both is and isn't actually Primordus. What we saw.. the giant crocadilian like head is actually a giant Destroyer that Primordus.. the same Primordus design that we saw in Gw1 has constructed around himself like a giant living suit of armour and the real Primordus is inside this giant destroyer fused into it with those unusual tendrils he had growing out of him back in Gw1. I expect that given Primordus is able to construct his minions out of nothing but rock and lava this would definitely be something he is capable of doing to both protect himself and enhance his ability to tunnel through the world. If this is how Primordus is really designed then Jormag and Primordus could be very close in actual size but we could still have the massive Primordus armour construct deceiving us that he is ridiculously bigger than anything we've seen in Gw2. It could also set up a great twist where we defeat "Primordus" only to then get the Surprise nope! moment when we realise we havent killed the real Primordus.. only broken his armour and severely kittened him off instead. If Anet went with something like this for Primrodus then it negates the design change and the size difference between Gw1 and Gw2 and both designs of Primordus could be used to make a pretty epic battle with him when we fight him.

  15. One area of the game I think could use a bit of a overhaul tbh.. Would be nice if we had some custom input over our pets stats/skills and the ability to define their roles. Too many pets in the game atm which kind of get neglected due to their species and skills. In all honesty I think Anet should take away the current list of pets and put them into categories instead. Example: Instead of having 5 different Drake pets that have different Archetype's, F2's and skin's we instead have a single Drake Family. Once we equip the Drake Family we then get to customise it by choosing which Skin we want our drake to have, which Archetype it will use which will also buff associated stats and define which Soulbeast skill you will get when merged and choose which F2 skill we want our Drake to use as well. This would allow us to have for example, A Deadly Fire breathing Ice Drake that burns and gets buffs to it's Precision and Condition Damage. The main reasons I think this is worth doing. 1. It gives Rangers more freedom to customise their Pets into their builds. It allows people's preferences for any pet skin per family to be included in any build they want, this would boost build diversity a bit and allow people to play with their favourite pets all the time rather than being forced to either sacrifice an optimal pet for cosmetic reasons or sacrificing a favourite pet for better build performance.. Considering cosmetics are a huge part of this game it seems unfair that Rangers are forced to chose their pets based on stats and skills and are potentially disadvantaged when choosing based on their preference for how a pet looks, this issue would no longer exist if these changes are implemented. 2. It will fix the imbalance issue that currently exists with various pet families that do not have access to all the various Archetype's For example there are no Stout Birds, No Supportive or Stout Devourers, No Ferocious Pigs etc.. Worst of all there are a bunch of existing pets that are only categorised as "Unique" such as the Smokescale, Iboga and Shark etc. All of these pets can finally use their own family categories and will be able to be customised with any existing Archetype the player chooses, allowing you to have a Stout Smokescale to act as a tank for example. This will also allow for new pet skins in the same Family as well such as Smogscales which could bring in a new ability for either it or the Smokescale to use.. say an AoE Fear or Poison field for example. New Colour variants of Iboga, Wyverns and Bristleback with new F2 abilities to choose from could also be added to beef up their family tree's. With the reduced list of the existing 50 (terrestrial) pets into 15 (terrestrial) Families not only would you have a cleaner and more easy to use pet list than this current one. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Terrestrial_Pets.jpg But it also free's up a lot of space for new family categories to be added as well such as Skales for example, which have long been a creature type in Guildwars that many Rangers have really wanted the ability to tame since as far back as Gw1. It also means that tons of new pet variants can be added to the game purely for cosmetic reasons without needing to fill any kind of combat role such as all the DLC pets and the Reef Drake had to. Anet could also add rare coloured pet's to out of the way places in the game for Rangers to go and hunt down that would be a fun reward for exploration etc Or add them as temporary Rare spawns after defeating powerful creatures and/or beating big meta event's. For example after beating the Defeat the Legendary Forged Hounds event in PoF there could be a rare chance that a few Juvenile Hound's of Balthazar will spawn there for Ranger's to tame. Stuff like this would severely improve the Gw2 pet system in my opinion and significantly improve the fun around hunting pets on Rangers. I would love to see Anet do something like this in Gw2 someday.
  16. If you don't like the Elder Dragon story then you're not really all that invested in this game's story. We all knew what Gw2 was going to be long before Gw2 even released so no Anet isn't just going to dump the entire concept of this game until they are ready to end the main story of Gw2, but we are getting there now and I do expect a finale to the Dragon Story fairly soon. That said all those moaning about the Dragon story.. they do amuse me with their attitudes that whatever comes after Elder Dragons will automatically be better because it won't be about Elder Dragons XD That's the same flawed logic as people nagging to stop going back to lore rich Gw1 locations because we've been there before already. Just because something is new! doesn't automatically make it better!.. and you can't force creativity especially with little to nothing to build on especially with deadlines lording over your work. Shigeru Miyamoto once said “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.” I completely agree with him on that and I will always support delaying a project if it means getting a better experience.. delays are good, deadlines however are one of the main things that often hurts or ruins games.
  17. I don't hate any classes but Mesmer and Ele are the two that I've never enjoyed playing very much.. mostly because i've never been able to make a build for them that i've really enjoyed playing.

You can see Jormag’s size between Zhaitan and Mordremoth. > > https://mobile.twitter.com/that_shaman/status/1333405006213615619/photo/1 As Konig pointed out the different models does tend to change the size of the dragon between appearances, This is also why I said I expect Primordus size to be heavily reduced once we see a complete model of it in game. The main indicator of Jormag and Primordus sizes is the lore about a previous conflict they had in the last dragonrise. Primordus physically struck Jormag in the side during the last dragonrise which is why shards of Jormag's blood can be found all over Drizzlewood coast. If the current model chart that Shaman made is accurate to their size then Primordus would be big enough to eat Zhaitan and Jormag which would just be absurd lol A clash between Jormag and Primordus would be more akin to the fight between Glint and Kralkatorrik.. or Teen Aurine and Kralkatorrik as we saw in Season 4. Jormag would be at even more of a disadvantage too since as far as we know/suspect right now Jormag likely has a Lindwurm design and has no wings and cannot fly to avoid attacks like Aurine was able to. To me this does strongly suggest that Jormag and Primordus are somewhat closer in size to one another which Jormag would need to be to take a big hit from Primordus like it did in the last Dragonrise, if Primordus was too much bigger it wouldn't make much sense. But we only have the Season 3 Primordus model to work with atm.. but once we see a full model of him in game im sure we'll get a better indicator of his size, my guess since Primordus and Jormag are twins is that Primordus also has a Lindwurm design or Crocodile like design and is a little bigger than Kralkatorrik's body/head/tail but not as big as his wingspan while Jormag is smaller and more in line to the size of the stand in I made. But I could be way off, we'll just have to wait and see once both Dragons have complete models.
  19. The mark of a great liar is one that manipulates and lies using the truth.. that is what Jormag does, it doesn't outright lie to you.. it's very sly, perverts the truth and lies by omission and tactics like that so that it can always say things like. (Purely fan based dialogue not from the game) "I never lied to you, I told you the truth.. I just didn't tell you everything because I can't trust you.. not yet, because you're working against me, but I don't blame you.. I understand your fear and your doubt's but you must trust me, I am not your enemy and you will need my help." Lies with the truth.. justifies it's actions.. deflects the blame and calls your actions to question.. sympathises to your situation.. reassures.. and seduces. Jormag is a master at this kind of thing and it's what Jormag has been doing more or less for the entire IBS, trying to get us on it's side by making us think it's on our side. Also Jormag isn't small exactly, so far we've only seen it's head so there's not a large model to go by as of yet but I am still expecting Jormag to be about the length of Kralkatorriks Head and Tail maybe a bit of the neck too in total. That would make Jormag much bigger than Zhaitan's body but not as big as it's wingspan and much thicker than Mordremoth's body but not quite as long. If you want an example and comparison compared to other ED models I made this a while ago to show around about's what I expect Jormag's size to be using a mishmash of kralk parts as a stand in as I expect that better fits to the Lindwurm body type I am expecting Jormag to have. ![](https://imgur.com/cyfT5Vg.jpg "") Also to note as well, Primordus will very very likely be shrunk down when he gets a full body model in Gw2, I do not expect his head from season 3 will define his full body model, it's just too big.. however I do believe he will be the biggest of the Dragons.
  20. Seems people really like the evade and leap combo on demand.. Ok so how about (if possible) we replace the leap skill with Serpent's strike while we are within like 150 range of an enemy and after using Serpent Strike we get a new quick thrust stab skill that deals big damage to enemies struck on the back or sides? This would make Monarch's leap purely an engage and retreat skill and would give the on demand dodge that would help make Ranger Sword a better duelist weapon. If it's possible to setup skills like this that change when an enemy is in a certain range that opens up a whole lot of doors for every class to get some significant upgrades to their various weapon skill sets.
  21. Well Gw2 is a story driven PvE MMO.. the PvP modes are irrelevant for the most part and that's been pretty cemented by all the neglect it's gotten over the last several years the game has been out. PvE gets almost all the attention because that's what sells the game, makes them money off the cash shop, that's where most of the player base is and prefers to spend their time and that's what most players want more of. I'll never understand people who only play Gw2 for the PvP.. they're basically buying expansions purely for the elite specs and nothing else.. paying full price for like 10% of the game.. that baffles the kitten out of me tbh. But each to their own. I agree with OP though to some extent.. nothing in WvW or PvP should be locked behind anything you have to play PvE to obtain.. but that also goes both ways for me. Nothing in PvE should require you to play WvW or PvP either. I've seen a lot of people talk about needing to go into WvW for legendary's etc and I agree that there should be some way they can avoid doing that as well. Allow all game mode rewards to be accessed and earned exclusively in those modes, that's the best solution. You wanna sell people on each mode then do it with exclusive skins.. for the most part Gw2 has done that though.
  22. It's already been established that Jormag and Primordus are two sides of the same coin.. opposites etc. Given that's the dynamic I think it's far better if it's also reflected in their personalities. Jormag is sly, cunning and manipulative and also very very intelligent and it seems to genuinely want to preserve the world forever in ice. That would have to mean Primordus is none of those things and the complete opposite. That wouldn't make Primordus stupid though.. just more single minded in it's desires.. Destruction and death. There's a reason we call violence and destruction acts of primitive, savage or evil behaviour.. I think Primordus should reflect those traits, Specially since Jormag is supposed to be it's opposite and Jormag's traits have already been established. If Primordus is to be a dragon of fire and destruction with a more single minded purpose of eradicating all life on Tyria then he needs to be as close to an unstoppable force as possible for him to be a good villain. That alone will make him by far the most dangerous of the Elder Dragons and that's what he deserves to be. This is why I think we need to witness a cataclysmic event in Gw2 that Primordus is responsible for.. we need that moment where against all odds Primordus still wins. I know we had something similar with Kralkatorrik but Anet need to go so much further with Primordus to establish his power and dominance. That's why I think Primordus will end up killing Jormag.. and why if Primordus dies at the end of IBS like many have suspected he will it will be such a tragedy and a waste of potential for what could be this franchises most dangerous villain.
  23. Many have long asked for a Bestiary or Diary like feature added to the Hero Pannel that will provide us with information about the world.. I am a huge fan of something like this and it could be made into a really cool quest for Gw2 as well challenging each player to hunt down every kind of enemy type, and POI etc per character to unlock the information contained in those notes. Not all point's of interest need a dossier full of information about them, some could have a few fun facts about the history of the location, others could have major history and lore going back centuries and some wouldn't need to have a dossier entry at all. As for enemies, details about behaviour, abilities, health and other combat data like stats could be provided as well as some facts and common loot/resource info. Big named enemies could have far more information provided about them like backstories about the terror and destruction they have wrought on the world and where they came from. And animals could just have short descriptions, stats and combat info as well as notes about their habitats/locations and whether they are charmable by rangers, could also display the kind of resources they can drop too such as specific meat, hides etc. Could also be extended to nodes as well, after harvesting a node for the first time it'll give you some basic information about that node, the tool needed to harvest it and which maps that node can be found in. There's a lot that could be packed into a Bestiary like this, a fun quest that will involve you running all over tyria and doing everything to complete it. Plus the information that could be made available may end up being really helpful to a lot of people, specially the combat data of specific mobs and their skills. Specially that of boss creatures, raid bosses etc.
  24. That title confused the hell outta me for a second, I thought they finally added new minion skins or something XD
  25. Well that's one way to stop the enemy taking it back xD
