  1. I mean, i know races are not "required content" so mount rentals are a nicety that Anet did, but come on, if you're going to rent mounts, just make them last an hour or however long, but then give the players full use of that mount (unmastered?). When you rent a car in real life, when you get out of it, a person doesn't come in it and drives it to the rent a car dealership so you have to walk back to the rental to drive somewhere else. And yeah, it's a game, blah, blah, just seems like a silly restriction to not be able to remount wherever within the time constraint.

The most useful to me i think has been the Bunny! It's amazing how such an "early" mount will still be relevant later. Speaks volumes on the great design of the mounts! I mean, even when i had the borrowed skyscale mount in Dragonfall, i still used the Springer a lot of the times. The least one i use is the jackal but only because it's so specific that i don't know where to use it instead of just using the Raptor. Unless there's a sand portal, Raptor is almost always better. Jackal is basically reduced to "a thing you use to enter portals", and there's not many of those around. I wish they could implement more uses for it, some sand roads like in PoF, those are amazing, running on sand so high up! Raptor is useful when you have gaps to go over, or lots of flat land with obstacles. Skimmer for bodies of water. Beetle for vroom vroom. Bunny can still scale heights faster than Skyscale, Griffon for vroom vroom in the air. However, Skyscale is all around useful everywhere. > > Disagree with jackal. It really depends on the terrain, though. I find that the raptor doesn't manage inclines very well. Hmm, never really tried the jackal on inclines. Raptor with no jumping manages inclines for me just fine, had no reason to try anything else honestly. And since i got the roller beetle, i use raptor even less. I just use it if i need to jump far and in citites, but that's about it. But i still use it more than the Jackal, idk, they should maybe put in more uses for the jackal. Or maybe increase its speed a little bit to be faster on flat ground or inclinces than the raptor, that would make it more usable.

When the Skyscale runs out of stamina (which it will if you try to keep your altitude), it goes down just like the griffon - but with way less forward momentum. And the small gains in altitude on short distances can almost always be achieved with a springer, too. > In short, the scale to me feels like a swiss army knife of mounts - longer "jumps" than a raptor, decent maneuverability, sufficient speed bursts especially with the masteries... really handy, yet sometimes you just want the perfect tool for a specific job. > **But**, MacGyver wasn't famous for his giant toolbelt... So pick your favorite :) Yeah, i'm gonna get them both. If i drop 250g on the priced gw2 collections i could unlock the library, do that and get the griffon today. Skyscale still has 1 timegate, and the grindy saddle part after, so... Idk, might be useful to have a griffon in the meantime, but then again, i'm currently thinking about what to do with my money, i don't want to drop too low as i might not be able to do some stuff for a while if i get the griffon now.

That's how we get to the champs so quick - all the parachute drops are perfect for the griffon. Nice! I don't have all the Icebrood saga episodes though, so i'll wait til i buy the missing ones before i continue that story. I'll probably be late to the party, but whatever, i'm sure the maps will be played enough. Even PoF was sufficiently populated so i could do the griffon events more or less easily, and that content is now really old.
  6. > @"Salt Mode.3780" said: > and even then chronomancer supports cannot compare to how awesome it was when mesmer glamour ment something way back pre expanc I know right? Especially because Null Field, the skill mesmer supports are kinda built around (if you want to boonstrip), can be blocked. It's the only boonstrip that can be blocked btw, all the other professions get to have their boonstrips uninterrupted, but not ours, cause screw Mesmers, we're OP witho our buggy skills, inconsistent profession mechanic and 2 dodges apparently... So why not just gimp us more with being unable to boonstrip like everyone else. Makes me mad sometimes... > @"Every day pon.5386" said: > Who is to know if the profession will be updated by Mesmer players? The profession runs the risk of being worse off after another haphazard revision, so maybe the profession is safer & better off forgotten ?‍♀️ We want the second dodge back on the mirage and consistent skills and profession mechanic. How will that be worse? If i press a button and nothing happens - but the skill goes on full cooldown - that's where we're at right now, it won't be worse if i press a button and i can actually use my skill like every other profession. Imagine if firebrands F skills don't work, or they work but then immediately are rendered useless after the skill cast like we have to deal with our clones. Imagine the outrage. Why is there no outrage for Mesmers then? Why do we have to deal with that while every other professions has a profession mechanic that just works?
  7. Thanks for your input everyone! I always forget to elaborate and just later dawns on me that yes, it varies greatly by the item... So the one i was thinking about was Frostfang. It's an axe, so it's always meta, and according to gw2efficiency it's the one i have the most materials for, meaning, i'd make most profit on it. Even if i buy the precursor i'd make profit. But... Until i sell it i'd be broke.... So....
  8. > @"Ayrilana.1396" said: > The weapin you're trying to sell plays a role into it but it's difficult to really give you an estimate. When I used to sell them many many years ago, it would be anywhere between a day to a couple weeks. It all depended on there being players willing to buy them and not having someone, or many, come and list theirs cheaper than mine. Yeah, that's what i'm afraid of, listing my weapon, then someone puts theirs 1c cheaper, and 10 more people do the same, and suddenly i'm in a 3 month waiting queue just to break even.

Pretty much this. There's also usually some "bounty train" squad in LFG you can join and they usually do all of them. I got most my bounties done by using the mentor tag and asking in map chat + LFG. People came and helped. It would have been way easier with a commander tag but i don't have one of those yet. Still, a mentor tag was enough.
  11. UPDATE: So it indeed turned out that i'll be able to unlock the Griffin way before i unlock Skyscale. I did all the Griffin collections except the gold purchases. So provided i'im willing to drop 250 gold on it, i could have it right now. Skyscale is in the "Raising Skyscale" phase. I fed it 2 times, now i have to wait for another daily reset til i can feed it again and proceed to the next part. Already did the toys and treats. It was kinda funny throwing all the treats on him at once lol! If they did a time gate for the feeding, they might as well do the timegate for the treats, but i understand why they did that. Anyway... Yeah... The answer to the original thread question - Griffon or Skyscale - is YES!

Haha, well they kinda made it front and center for a few episodes, would be kinda weird if they don't do anything with that. They did bake in an "escape plan" though, when asked "how she is" or something by the commander, taimi says she might have a month or might be years. Translation - we don't know when or if we're going to continue that story thread. If nothing ends up happening, it'll just mean that "hey, turns out she didn't get worse all this time trolololo". > @"draxynnic.3719" said: > On the question of Blish being 'tortured': > > I _have_ come across references to sensory deprivation being used as a long-term method of... enhanced interrogation. It's one of those things that doesn't _sound_ as bad as inflicting physical pain, and it probably doesn't generate results as quickly, but it does have long-term psychological effects. Like solitary confinement on non-introverts but so much worse. Yes, that's what i think Blish's fate implied. Some think it's just like sleep while some think it's torture. But since Anet didn't exactly provide closure on Blish, i wonder if they intend to somehow continue his story. There could be scenarios where he gets out of that situation more or less intact. So if they do bring him back, it would be interesting if they delve into the psychological effects of such prolonged sensory depravation. I mean, his first experience with that on the docks wasn't pleasant...

Wasn't top tier or anything, but i managed to kill people and both get killed by people when playing, so it worked and was fun to play. Then i went on a long hiatus and when i got back i thought i'd jump into WvW and roam again. That dodge thing is SO clunky, you can't escape anyone's AOE, you just have to tank the damage or slot 3 mobility skills just to get by... It's a shame, it was so fun to roam as a mirage, and i saw a lot of mirages roam as well, both power and condi at that time. Now all i see are Chronomancer supports.
  14. I like the idea, i'm just not sure how many people are in both the "PvE crowd" and "PvP crowd", that play both and would enjoy that mix. Most of the PvE players would rage when getting killed by an enemy player, and PvP players would be annoyed with the PvE mechanics. But who knows, maybe it would work, depending on how they implement it. Sounds cool! :+1:

Wouldn't condition damage works better than expertise if you want some additional source of damage? I thought about it, but since i play a Mesmer, my conditions come from crits (Sharper Images), and Grieving has precision as a minor stat. If it had **Power**, **Precision**, *Condition damage*, *Ferocity*, That would be perfect! But it lowers my crit a lot, and then there's no real need for condi damage on it because i'm not going to proc bleed that much. > @"Raffrey.5271" said: > > @"Fueki.4753" said: > > > @"Raffrey.5271" said: > > > Now that I think about it, why not try Grieving? Even 100% condition duration will only make it something like 220 damage in 10s, this is assuming the mesmer's condition damage is 0. I think condition damage would be more effective here. That's true. For a build that focuses on condition proc on crit, **Power**, **Precision**, *Condition damage*, *Ferocity*. Kinda like Grieving, but with Precision as it's main stat instead of condi damage. EDIT: Just looked it up. That's Destroyer combo! But it's PvP only... :disappointed:

Sure, it seems minor to you (and many of us, I'm sure) but we already know that the code is built on old, convoluted code which can have unintended consequences when changed. Figuring out what might break when making a change in code like this can be a very big task. > > As to the second point, I'm pretty confident that if this change would significantly increase sales over the resources that would be needed to make the change, then Anet would have done so. It's always about the money. :) > Yeah, i know we don't know, but idk, youtube a bunch of coders or whatever, and they program whole AI's in a day and stuff, i don't think a simple UI change will require that much work to be honest... But you're right, who knows what they did to their code, maybe Anet totally messed it up and now can't change it lol. But you don't think being able to see a whole weapon wouldn't increase sales? I think it would, a lot. I mean, greatswords would probably sell double if people could actually see them. I don't know, obviously none of us can comment on how hard that would be to change, but honestly, defending a simple UI change as something that "requires resources" and needs balancing in time spent vs money gained is just ridiculous. Most programmers can do that in an afternoon. Like, just resize the window so there's more space around the character. Doesn't need to be fancy.

Additional vitality will either be irrelevant, since you'll have a healer anyway, you'll get 1shot by mechanics if you don't dodge, or you'll simply yeet through mechanics so quickly, you won't have time to get hit. That's why it's not meta. Thank you! My point exactly! Nothing will ever beat Berserker's, they already have the ultimate power creep stat combo, so any arguments that some other stat combo would be OP is kinda moot right?
