  1. I love how people are posting meme mesmer builds that require you to double press all of your buttons with continuum split, claiming "those are SupErstROng" while completely ignoring every other profession's actual meta builds that decimate even the burstiest and most efficient mesmer builds with 2 skills.
  2. Well, becasue it's an MMO. I don't play MMOs to solo around, i play them to play with people. The only reason i "play alone" is because this game lets you do that. I can just do my own thing, and others can join or i them without the need for a party. But whenever i see someone, unless we're just running by each other in separate directions, if we end up doing the same thing for like a minute, i always say something. Anything really, most of the time it's either a cringe joke of a current situation or like, a comment out of nowhere. And to this community's credit - most of the people respond and love to have a chat, even for just a minute. I didn't come across many rude players, and when i did, i usually managed to turn the situation into everyone laughing. Because there's rarely "all bad all the time" people in game, most of the "edgy" ones are either bored or had a rough day or whatever so they tease in map chat and troll a bit. Personally - i can laugh with them, even at my own expense - and whenever i start laughing with them at my own expense the situation suddenly turns into a funny conversation that has nothing to do with how it started. I love this community! There's some people that either write something short and stop responding or don't respond at all. So that's ok, i just leave them alone to do their thing. The weird part? I'm not like that in real life or other MMOs! :astonished: I don't go out of my way to talk to people in RL, nor do i practice it in other MMOs, and in no other MMO did i meet such a chill friendly community which speaks volumes on how good the fundamental game design is that makes me comfortable enough to just drop a comment to random people without it being awkward for both parties. Other than that, i join squads when there's metas and i regularly do WvW with my guilds so yeah, this game is best with people. Which should be no surprise to anyone since it's an MMO, but not all MMOs are created equal and i've had some uncomfortable cringe moments in most of them when it comes to grouping and player interaction but not here.

You think those two are related somehow? And i don't mean like, family, but like related "story threads" or whatever. Also, i don't remember that bear, it's been a looong time since i went there lol.

Apparently at the start of the [ice Caves of Sorrow](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ice_Caves_of_Sorrow) mission in Prophecies, there were [tameable bears](https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Black_Bear). Unsure if that is related, but the mission area looks [pretty close](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/guildwiki_gamepedia/images/5/5e/MissionSequence.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/800?cb=20060928104607) to the location of Thunderhead Keep. > > On the topic of bears sitting in GW2, that's one of their basic animations you can see in parts of core Tyria, and if you have any bear (or bear-like) tonics, most of them have a /sit animation you can use (as well as /threaten). Cool, didn't know that! Could be a reference to that too!

A sign doesn't need to be an interactable object like box o fun is. It can just be some glowing floating text above a dead player that goes away after they TP or rez. That would prevent abuse.
  6. Idk, for me it varies... Some bosses are great, especially in LS4 story. But some of them are such effect spamfests that i just 11111 at the boss from range and hope i hit something lol. Warden Amala comes to mind...

And i didn't even think of the multiple people mechanics, like, yeah those alone would prevent progress in some paths. So people saying the dungeons can be done in 6 minutes... Yeah, not really...
  8. Haha, nice! I like it! Hopefully people have enough sense of humor left that they won't complain on the forums about it.
  9. Ah, thanks for the link! I just find it interesting that there's a bear in a circle - sitting, it seems so strange cause that's the only bear there and it's laid out like drawing attention to it. So i thought there must be something going on there. One person points out that the POI there is called Sorrow's Cave. So maybe the bear is sad in a cave or something.

But come on, not with new players that don't even know the mechanics properly and have at best green gear on them... And not even ascended lvl 80 people can solo dungeons sometimes...
  11. Open world stuff - maybe, but there's also dungeons that are not as easy and some events and areas can still catch new players unaware. Depends on where they're leveling. There's lots of different maps to explore, if one is too easy like, if you're leveling in Kryta and you find it easy, go to Ascalon and level there. You're not married to your starting region. You also don't need to level at current/lower level, you can go do maps that are above your level.
  12. I like it! Cantha is supposed to be inspired by the oriental aesthetic right? Mostly china/japan. And they have those wingless dragons, would be really cool for a skin with EoD release!
  13. > @"Linken.6345" said: > There usualy is alot of volitaile magic in the air on season 4 maps that you can vacuum up with your skyscale. > + the rifts for rule of the skies title. Yeah, i've been doing that a lot lately when farming. If i come across some i always make a detour. Thunderhead peaks has a lot of it for instance.

Unbound magic or Volatile? I know unbound has Winterberry farm, does Volatile have something simmilar? Cause i've been spending a lot of time in LS4 maps recently (farmed myself the Requiem armor set and some dragonblood weapons), and i can't say any of the nodes are easy to farm, takes a lot longer than farming winterberries. Plus, winterberries are unlimited per account per day, just per character... > > I just use the glyph and home instance nodes > > winterberries are unlimited but you end up comparing the efficiency of different methods to get gold due to opportunity cost > > Ah yes, i neglcted to account for the quantity of the t5 ones! In that case, volatile magic ones do seem better, thank you!
  15. Yes i saw the statistics on each page. Like, for instance, 1 trophy shipment has 0.98 chance of giving Vial of Powerful Blood (with the most common number being around 5.0) while Magic-Wrapped bundle has 0.49, but that 0.49 is the most common drop. So if i was to "farm" T6 materials, then unbound magic ones would be a better choice right? @"Khisanth.2948" You can also get Magic-Wrapped bundles for 500 unbound magic and 1 gold, but yeah, since unbound magic is basically abundant maybe the 40s is the better option. Depends on the price per 1 magic too i guess. Which one is easier to farm? Unbound magic or Volatile? I know unbound has Winterberry farm, does Volatile have something simmilar? Cause i've been spending a lot of time in LS4 maps recently (farmed myself the Requiem armor set and some dragonblood weapons), and i can't say any of the nodes are easy to farm, takes a lot longer than farming winterberries. Plus, winterberries are unlimited per account per day, just per character... @"Kaltyn of Torbins Deep.2946" Magic-wrapped also has a chance to drop amalgamated gemstones so that's an additional value i guess.
  16. You know you can level with them even if you're higher level than them right? Even if you're level 80, you still gain mastery experience, and if that is full, you gain experience for spirit shards... The system works fine, just slow down and play with your friends at their pace, nothing bad's going to happen.

I advised that they are important for current gameplay and should not be ignored. > > Sorry, I disagree. All core content can be completed without mounts. They are not important for current gameplay, unless you are talking about the later LS chapters. True, that mounts are a QoL improvement in core maps, but they aren't necessary. > > Agreed. And you have to do a lot of the PoF story just to get the xp and mastery points required to 1. get more than one mount and 2. train those mounts into anything useful - including getting subsequent mounts. Point 2 being the exception for the beetle and the skyscale but the second one, in particular, would be a nightmare to get without some other mounts. It's not like the mounts and their masteries get handed out at the start of PoF. This is what a lot of people miss when recommending to go get a Raptor. Like, without masteries, you're just getting a slighly faster walking speed. Which, of course, can be useful, sure, but it's not the huge QoL improvement everyone makes it out to be. Mastered mounts - sure, great value - but to get those you actually need to finish the entire PoF and play metas.

This morning (i.e. new game day) I ran about half of Tekkit's route, and found exactly ONE "supply cache". "Kournan chests" were OK. I confirmed, by logging in a second account and multiboxing to be sure I was looking at the identical map, that my second account could see supply caches where the first one saw nothing. I have to presume that the caches are either on individual timers or on something rather longer - they're certainly not resetting at end of day. > > > > > > Pretty sure they are on a 16-18h cd mate. > > > > I know this is a necro thread but... > > > > I think something weird is happening. I was farming Thunderhead peaks for branded mass to get my Dragonsblood weapons and after i was done with the mining routes, went on to farm dwarwen chests. Didnt' want to start a new thread, so i posted here.
  19. I guess they could make the voluntary subscription count for cosmetics ony. That way no convenience items would be tied to a subscription so no one would feel forced to continue it, and the subscribers get access to all rotating costumes, skins and free transmutation charges for the duration of the subscription. Maybe buy them at a discount if they want one permanently. That way if someone is really high into fashion wars and can't stick with one look, they can play the fashion game that way. Would at least silence all the "a paid subscription game letsme change my look whenever and how many times i want - i want free armor skin changes in this non subscription based game!" threads. Want free changes like in WoW? Here - pay the monthly subscription like WoW has.

  21. For taming bloom and glare you can try using shadows/highlits filter to tone down the "aura" around objects, make them appear less eye-stabby. But there's also other ways of getting a simmilar result.

I know this is a necro thread but... I think something weird is happening. I was farming Thunderhead peaks for branded mass to get my Dragonsblood weapons and after i was done with the mining routes, went on to farm dwarwen chests. Then i retraced the entire mining path and found nodes where there weren't before and i could farm them. Simmilar thing happened with mistonium. And it's not like in Bloodstone fen where you mine all the nodes, log in with another character and some of the nodes are "spent" so you can only mine some of them, here, new nodes appeared, it's like it was a reset but it wasn't.... So there's definitely something going on with the nodes, could be a glitch...
  23. > @"Firebeard.1746" said: > It might cheapen the Jahai episode just a little. When Braham muttered that comment about "Those who pass are A Star to guide us" or something like that I literally almost cried. It wouldn't cheapen it because Blish still did make a huge sacrifice. He shut himself down, for all he knew that was the end for him and he still did it. However, in another thread i made, i entertain the possibility that Blish is not actually dead, just trapped in his golem body - still conscious, just shut down his higher functions so he can't do anything, sense anything. Like he was at the docks. If that's the case, his sacrifice is even grander because at the docks, he almost went crazy after exsperiencing being shut down and he said he wouldn't want to experience that again. But he did it anyway knowing it'll be a fate worse than death, he'll be in a constant state of sensory deprived torture. So as long as his power core is running, i think there's a chance he can be brought back without his sacrifice being cheapened. Anet! Bring Blish back!!! :heartbreak:
