    > I don't generally tip if I take advantage of one of those casual public portal offerings, though I do tip if the circumstances or effort are exceptional. (HoT HP trains, major PITA JPs, or any time someone goes out of their way to help me specifically.) And sometimes hire mesmers outright for specific tasks. When other people tip me for helping them, it is unexpected and unasked for (an enthusiastic thank you is quite enough) but I am usually too much of a cheapskate to send back the tips. (Some day I will be a better person than that...)

This is indeed true, quite a few mesmers just enjoy the company lol. I have 12 mesmers parked at a couple of different puzzles from easy ones like Morgans Spiral and Spekks Lab to help out new players to the Chalice of Tears and Not So Secret for players after those hard achieves and every day when I log in I stop by on each mesmer and offer ports to people on the map. I don't ask for and half the time don't accept tips because I don't do it for money, just to help foster the community and meet other nice people. Its let me enjoy many a fun conversation and I like getting to help people out since I know many people don't find it fun spending 2 hours in a jumping puzzle only to die on the last jump. ^^"

Yah Morgans Spiral probably is the easiest puzzle. The main reason I keep a mesmer there is because its also one I see a lot of new players on and they aren't used to it yet so I hang around to give them a helping hand and chat with em. It was my first ever JP in the game and I died countless times attempting it and the 2nd part of it so now I just enjoy seeing other players learn and move up and help out where needed. ^^

  3. Just gonna bump this for now because i've recently had a number of people contact me about jumping puzzle help on some that I cover after posting on another thread so if anyone needs assistance with any of the puzzles mentioned in the original post feel free to hit me up~

  4. Hi there~

I'm from the server Northern Shiverpeaks and have been here since launch. We've always been known for having a pretty good, chill community and I've never had cause for complaint since I started playing with people here. We aren't always the strongest server but we bounce around a lot and always try to have fun no matter what we're doing. If you want feel free to come over and join us and if not then best of luck wherever you end up~ ^^

    > So teleport straight to end, doesn't spawn chest.

    > While others say teleport works.

    > Can confirm which is true?

The first answer is correct. There are checkpoints throughout the puzzle that you must hit in order, with the chest itself being the final checkpoint. If you don't get them all you can't open the chest.

Also I have 6 mesmers parked at this puzzle and pop in fairly regularly to see if anyone needs help so feel free to whisper me for assistance~

  6. Love my server and the good folks on NSP and the guild I've stuck by still does WvW so I stay with it. Not to mention its probably the most fun part of the game for me aside from the fashion and social interaction. While I'm still awaiting something new either in the form of alliances or just events in general I'll still be out and about scouting, building siege, and defending our colors as long as I have allies to do it with me.

I wouldn't say ele is bad no. In my personal experience I've seen some that are just monsters. I believe being a roaming ele is considerably harder though if I'm not mistaken, and seeing as you said your friends are new I doubt anyone would advise trying to pick that particular class build up.

I do indeed my friend, my characters stay permanently parked at their spots (assuming I don't screw up and get myself killed lol). Your more than welcome to send me a mail or msg if you see me on and I'll see if we can't get you up there~

    > You want something beefy, and flamey. Guardian/Firebrand is the way to go.

Have you seen berserker? Its elite spec essentially gives all of their burst attacks fire effects and animations and whenever entering berserker form causes the character to have a flame like glow around their chest area. Add the Balthazar greatsword to that and use arcing swing to cause rings of fire around you in combination with your Hounds of Balthazar ult as a human and I'd say your doing pretty well for yourself. Not to mention that Berserker's flames are closer to Balthazars being orange/red whereas Firebrand's flames and animations tend to be either blue or have more of a lighter hue. Personally given all this I'd say warrior berserker spec is the closest you can possibly get to becoming balthazar in game.

I hate saying it because I know it sounds like trying to force players to play your way but this is one thing I was glad not to see in guild wars. It's like when I've seen people ask for playable dwarves and elves in the past, or even playable skritt to a lesser extent. I am someone who greatly enjoys the lore of this game and to see someone go flying but on a flying unicorn covered in rainbows when there's no other mention of them in the game, let alone a visible horse in the game, is not something I ever want. It's the same reason I opposed SAB mounts and the branded mounts when they come out, I don't like lorebreaking items. And your right I don't have to buy them but I will have to look at them everywhere I go so that's why I'm strongly on the opposite side of this topic.

    >

    > You already have to watch my shiny behind when ever I go by sooooooo. =) Tough luck, buttercup, there's a lot of stuff in this game I don't like looking at but still have to deal with. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean others won't love it.

So basically this is one of those "agree with me or go away" kind of threads got it lol. That being in mind I'm going to excuse myself, seeing as there's no point to stay, and take solace in my faith that Anet wouldn't add such a thing. Good day~

    > 6. Lastly, I dislike my Charr.. I just can't find a good armor for Charr.. I hate how Anet seems to just copy+paste all armor to fit into Asura/charr body without further effort.. So of them looks plain ugly or stretched out for God's sake! Anyway... if anyone can suggest me a great outfit/armor for Charr that can have an evil/dark theme, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, if turns out after all this, my main is a War, it means I am making another human/norn War.

Legendaries may not be my specialty but fashion is one thing I adore. I currently have 43 characters and counting and if your willing to put in a little time and maybe more than a little of your gold into investing in some skins and dyes I can almost guarantee that we'll find you a look combination you love. If you want to shoot me a whisper or a mail in game and I'll gladly comb through the wardrobe and help you craft a look you'll enjoy for your charr. The fact that you already know you want him to have more of a dark theme makes it all the easier since it gives me somethin to work with.

(For HOPE.) Not as evil as the other ones you've listed, and probably easy for quick-fingered platformer veterans, but not for us slowpokes.

Huh did not know that. Alright i'll add that one to the potential list. In the meantime before I settle them anywhere if you msg me in game I can hop over and help you get through the puzzle. =)

    >

    > Still that place has nothing on the Not So Secret nightmare in Gendarran Fields. @"Moonlit.6421" you are a spirit-send helping others like you are!

Ah that brings up a good point. Typically when I stop in at the Chalice of Tears JP I hop onto my Mesmer parked at the 3rd checkpoint and look around, offering assistance to people I see struggling below. I used to tag up and advertise more but dont as much either due to time or no one showing up but if there really are ppl still checking LFG for it I guess I can start advertising again. The character I always use for advertising in that puzzle is Talesin the Twisted since he's my Mesmer for the start so if you ever see him in ember bay I'm probably gettin rdy to do a port run. Feel free to hit me up if you see me on though and I can do a quick port run for you~

    > * Many players I heard of already gave up on the **Chalice of Tears** JP and the linked Aurora Legendary item. Some help would be very welcome to these players, but with the checkpoints it is a bit harder to help players or even newbies then your average JP. And if you also want to collect the hidden tokens you will have to leave the volcano and do it all over again, unless you get help of a mesmer laying down portals back to the main route.

    > I gave up on it for a long time and also on Aurora as it makes no sense to work on Aurora when you consider the JP to be beyond your skill. But I ultimately was able to complete it by exactly following AyinMaiden's guide. Aurora is now on it's way.

    >

    > <3 Ayin, you're my personal GW2 hero! <3

    > * Another difficult JP is the **Searing Ascent** in Draconis Mons. Fortunately, you do not need to have the checkpoints active to get the chest and achievement here. I found it very helpful to see some players here who advertised their location (at the end chest) to allow any player to use their Teleport to Friend items on them.

I have 6 Mesmers parked at the chalice of tears JP for each checkpoint there and started porting ppl through it right before Aurora came out so I've made a considerable amount of ports through there lol. I had originally debated between posting a large group of mesmers there or at the draconis mons one like you mentioned but the chalice of tears seemed more straightforward when porting and with the checkpoints I decided to go that route instead.

Also congrats on getting a step closer to Aurora, maybe you'll have it soon. =)

    > One that I'd suggest (to help people without Springers) is Loreclaw Expanse in the Plains of Ashford. You usually see lots of downed/defeated in among the fire traps, and when I sat round the back offering ports in /map, a fair number of people showed up.

    >

    > Might be a good idea to say if you're on EU or NA.

Hm I don't think I've been to that one before so I'll be sure to look it up, thanks. =)

Also good point, I'll edit the main post to reflect that.

  18. So I'm not so much asking for assistance but rather which puzzles people generally need assistance with. I currently have 12 mesmers all parked at various jumping puzzles for the sole purpose of ports. It was originally to help out some guildmates but after seeing how many people needed them I started leaving them there and have been porting ever since. Currently I have mesmers at the following puzzles:

Chalice of Tears in Ember Bay

    Skipping Stones in Southsun Cove

Morgan's Spiral/Dreamdark Enclave in Caledon Forest

    Spekk's Labe in Caledon Forest

Not So Secret in Gendaren Fields (Goggles and chest)

I currently still have 2 more mesmers that I can station at another puzzle or two, depending on the need, so I'm looking for good recommendations. What puzzles/places would be good to park a mesmer at that could help people out the most? Thanks for your time and thoughts. ^^

(On NA by the way in case anyone is looking to contact me for a port.)
