As for the skins I said, as mentioned in the quote above, that **I** personally wouldn't like them and wouldn't want see players flying all over Tyria with them. Just as you have a right and reason to want them, I have a right to stand on the other side of the line and disagree with you, and that is all I've done so far. While we could get into a lore based discussion on it I chose not to as I personally have no interest in doing so and as you mentioned in your op you'd have no intention of listening, even if I did bring up a good point regarding the matter, so I see no point in wasting my time with that.

    >

    > Of course you can disagree, but doesn't mean the reasoning makes logical sense.

    > I never said you said it was "abstract" literally, I wrote that your comment makes it seem as if it is abstract to have a beedog mount in Tyria.

    > Referring to your comment where you said "Now would I want to see players flying around on giant Beedogs in the land of Tyria? No lol.". You gave no reasons behind that train of thought, leaving me to believe your reasoning could only be because you think it does not fit in with the rest of Tyria hence making it abstract.

    > In which case if that was your reasoning it would be very hard to justify given the immense number of already odd things we have in tyria, discoball and confetti gun weapons, christmas wrapped weapons, floppy scimitar swords, rainbow unicorns, and dancing llama finishers, list goes on forever.

    > And yes I had originally posted that I don't care about SAB hate comments, because I already know some people don't like it just like everything else in the world some people hate it, nothing new, I just felt the need to post this as an idea for Anet even though they probably don't read these threads for ideas much, and to share it with other people who like the idea.

My only reasoning referenced in that post was my personal preference, and my personal preference is no. I could come up with a few reasons as to why aside from that I don't think they fit or should be a thing, but I'll keep to what I've said thus far which is just that I, personally, don't want them.

Actually to be fair I said nothing about it being "abstract" as you said, just pointed out that the poll you mentioned does not particularly support the topic of this thread. As for the skins I said, as mentioned in the quote above, that **I** personally wouldn't like them and wouldn't want see players flying all over Tyria with them. Keep in mind though that doesn't mean the same amount like the idea of SAB mount skins. I personally for example found the SAB to be a funny little gimmick for a short while each year. Now would I want to see players flying around on giant Beedogs in the land of Tyria? No lol.

    > There may be a closer match in a Black Lion Exclusive dye set. I don't have any of them to check out on my account, so I can't really help any further.

While I cannot at this time login and do some tests to contribute further to this thread I did want to point out that you don't have to own a dye in order to preview it. You can always preview any dye in the dye section of the hero panel by having it show all locked dyes as well and even have them grouped by color/shade or you can use the wardrobe to preview the armor of you don't own it and look on the trading post for dyes then right click and preview them from there.

Welp I suppose it is well within your right not to feel bad, just as I don't typically feel bad for the people who complain about it because, much as I support fashion wars, it is a singular skin and you don't **_need_** it and despite most peoples attitude in this game you can still play and enjoy the game without getting every single thing you want. There are skins I want in raids and titles I want from past discontinued events and I know I'm never going to get these things but hey I'm okay with it because there are many other skins and nice things in this game that I do have and that I do enjoy, so it more than compensates.

  7. First off allow me to welcome you to the game friend! You said your new, may I ask how long you've been playing? I noticed you expressed an interests in WvW as well which is what caught my eye (my personal fav mode after all), and was wondering what server you were on?

Now as for your question first things first, what type of player are you? What is your typical preferred role? Do you like to get up close and personal with the enemy or kite endlessly around them as they struggle to reach you? Do you enjoy complicated piano builds that you learn and master or prefer simpler things? Are you a lone would or do you prefer to have a pack? Additionally why did mesmer and engineer catch your eye? Having more details about your playstyle and interests will help those thinking of giving advice have a better grasp of what you need.

    > I went and tried this last night. Took me several attempts just to get onto the first airship, and then nearly died on the next set of columns that go under the ship due to so much aggro from the Aetherblades firing up at me from the ground. Shortly after that I missed a jump and fell. I'd estimate there were about 4 other players there trying it and they never even managed to reach the airship at all. Considering that first section is probably the easiest part, it was a pretty sad showing by all of us. I called out on the map to see if anyone had a toon parked at the goggles, but like normal, it went unanswered. Very frustrating and not a fun JP at all.

Sorry for your bad luck mate, I actually thought about this thread and did some ports last night for 2 folks. One thing that is kind of discouraging from a Mesmers pov though, or at least mine lol, is when I wave at people, and ask if they'd like any help up or if I can be of assistance and they don't say anything, just go around you like your not even there. Perfectly fine to want to do it on your own, but it gives me a meh feeling when I spend time and leave toons there just to help people, and like 80% of people don't even take the time to wave back, let alone respond lol.

That little ramble aside if you happen to see me on feel free to add me and hit me up for a port, I'd be more than happy to get you where yah need to go~

I do the same thing in the Chalice of Tears JP normally. If I'm bored or half ago I go scout the puzzle for anyone in need of assistance.

I've tried getting there a few times on my own, but I havan't managed line up the takeoffs and landings for the set of spinning sprockets above the airship that you need to reach the goggles.

    >

Ah right if I'm not mistaken I think a component for Dawn is also near the goggles. I've done ports for both of these as well, typically port ppl to the goggles and then back down to the spot they need, it's not to bad once you know where to look and a good few of us Mesmers do. I keep my guys parked at JP's because I don't rlly pve much so I can help ppl out with em and give both guildies and random players a hand, met some nice folks that way.

    >

    > That many seems kinda extreme. I do know players with alts at the end of every jumping puzzle. To each their own. My guild leader has 22 alts, she likes fashion wars. I have 10 slots right now. 1 of each class and one left open for weekly key run. Let’s face it gw2 is a game where players have loads of alts. Again I don’t see the downside if Anet puts character slots on sale more frequently. And if someone decides they want 100 alts who cares what they do with them. Play as you like.

Ah tell your guild leader she's doing a wonderful job! I have 42 characters and counting for the same reason, my wonderful little children x3

  11. Honestly I'd be more than happy to just have an option to opt out of the rewards. I'm currently at 42 characters, 39 of which are level 80, and for the most part I don't level them as I go I use tomes of knowledge and birthday scrolls to instantly level them up. I know it's a small change but not having to sit there every time and click through every levels rewards would be a wonderful qol option, and I am more than happy to just not get them as I gear my own characters anyways and trashing all the soulbound items in my inventory is really just a pain. As the OP said the thought is appreciated but any kind of option would be wonderful.

    >

    > It used to be important. Back when Anet cared about such matters. It is still important to me, which is why I stand firmly against this idea.

    >

    > Your character wearing Branded “gunk” or friggin’ riding on a Branded creature is, dareIsay, stupid. Everything they’ve established about Branded lore has it being a death sentence. Yes, it is stupid. Stupid I say.

    >

    >

While I'm not entirely comfortable with the Branded mounts myself, I must disagree on the manner of armor/weaponry however. As others have mentioned any armor wouldn't be actually made of or ripped off of the branded themselves, but rather modeled after them by skilled craftsmen eager to make a buck off some adventurers. Lore wise this is still okay. (If they do though please, please don't make it an outfit...)

Mounts on the other hand I'd say are kind of a stretch. The wiki itself says, "By and large, their innards seem to have been changed to a glowing, purple crystal and their skin grayed and torn open; those that once had fur have now lost it and dark stone has grown atop their skin, with some becoming more stone-like than others." The springer still kind of looks like it has fur honestly, and I can't say any of them really have torn open skin. I get people saying its skins an all, that they aren't **actually** branded, but I mean looking at them lol how could any of the NPC's in the game actually make the mounts look like that? No costume no matter how well made would stay in tact on a raptor as it sprang through the desert, we'd be leaving a trail of crystals behind us everywhere we went as they fell off. I could have **maybe** seen having a branded jackal mount, and even thats still a stretch. The reason I say its more possible is because Jackals lore wise have already been "cleansed"" once, the djinn of GW2 imbuing magic runes into their bodies in order to tame the tormented magic left behind by Abaddon's fall and the presence of the remaining Margonites after Nightfall. Even then it says on the wiki that "These jackals are feral and hostile initially, and still seek to bring about Nightfall" until they are tamed, and even after being tamed are still connected to the Realm of Torment. So maybe Jackals would be capable of resisting the corrupting effects of the brand or could be reigned in again by the Djinn who did so before with their magic, that is something I think could have been added and still be capable of being explained. The other creatures eh, not so much. Its also mildly irritating that theres already a branded griffon in the game that looks completely different from ours but I suppose that could be explained by saying they've been branded longer and thus have mutated by now.

Anyways I rambled on a little more than I meant to there but quick summary armor/weapons modeled after branded are cool I think, branded mounts I should have been thought about a little more, feel free to disagree as is your right for this is simply my take on it.

  13. > @"SoulSlavocracy.4902" said:

    > This is speculation since I've only heard of it happening so far, but I have reason to believe it's possible since 1) I know that serious game-breaking hacks have existed for this game for a while and anet has done next to nothing about it from what I can see and 2) I've seen people get into air keep without there being any siege present anywhere.

    >

    > I'm wondering if anyone has _seen_ people do this, or knows for sure that it's going on.

One thing to keep in mind is mesmers, and how many people don't sweep for them as they should because they feel the reveal mechanic is fine and will do the job for them. Air keep in particular has a way of avoiding it if you stand way on the outside. For example one time me and my guildies lost air keep and the majority of our group got wiped except for a total of 4 of us. We hid and waited and eventually got spotted by one guy but said "hey, maybe he's stupid" and stayed after he ran off and sure enough no one ever came. We waited until the RI was up, came out of hiding, and built siege on inner then took air back with our 4 man group. With a good mesmer hiding inside you can get your whole zerg back in, no siege required.

Now on to getting into Air/Fire keep in more illegitimate ways. There used to be a way to get into fire keep if you could land a few tricky jumps and then you'd be inside outer, but if I'm not mistaken Anet has fixed that little spot already so I believe its clear now. Air keep had a spot as well that, if you were using fall dmg traits and snowfall runes and had good aim you could get to, but since the change to snowfall runes I believe that spot should be fixed as well so from what I know currently I believe both spots should have been fixed.

  14. Some really good advice has already been mentioned here but I guess I'll throw in my two cents. You said you were making it as part of a gaming community and had both new and established players, so I would advise trying to set up an officer core first and foremost. People who are knowledgeable, good with others, fairly active, and can assist you in some way such as through dealing with problems that arise or leading events in the guild. Hard workers and fun, jovial personalities can do wonders for a guild and community building is key. I've been playing since launch and one of my main reasons for sticking around even during the more boring times is I love my guild and enjoy the company of those I play with, so I keep coming back. Buffs are nice but having fun, likeminded people there to talk to and play with when you log in are for many players like me the main attraction of a guild.

  15. Honestly it really depends. Legendaries require a good bit of effort typically and a lot of gold/materials which if your new you might now have yet. You can always go on the wiki or use the crafting section on gw2efficiency.com (my personal fav) to see what's required and how much gold/materials it would take any rhen decide whether you want to stick with it and try and make it, save it for future use, or sell it for some money to help get you by now. Keep in mind if you sell it it doesn't mean you'll never be able to name a legendary, you can always buy or craft a precursor later on when your better equipped to make it into a legendary. There's no real wrong answer here it really is just whatever you feel would be best for you at this point in time.

  16. Hm. Well technically I suppose you could go do events that have a chance at rare, expensive drops like the Chak Egg Sac or Confetti Infusion but these are both rng items with an extremely low drop rate. If you go one you'd have more than enough gold after selling it to purchase a legendary off the TP. Theres also farming BL keys in the hopes of getting a permanent contract to sell or even the Legendary Awakened Hoarder bounty in hopes of getting the rare miniature it drops but again these are all low chance rng items hence the high value. Other than that I can't say I know of any other way, let alone a guaranteed one. Sorry friend
