  1. yes, reaper recieved some minor buffs. if you know how to play your reaper, its not bad. in pug groups (fractals/raids) you will often find yourself in the first two spots dps wise. but, in premade groups, in which players are actually able to play their classes, it still gets outperformed (dps wise) by pretty much every other build.

  3. but the thing is. if you drastically decrease lich dmg. the skill will become utter useless. which will make any power necro build pretty bad. sure it can be nerfed. but i think you have to give compensation as necros power damage is already pretty low unless you play reaper, or you have to be really careful with the numbers. no?
  4. Patch? Did miss something? There was nothing announced was it?
  5. > @"Archer.4362" said: > Balance patch? what is that? I really ask. Isn't it always a nerf patch? What? A balance patch wasn't part of that roadmap. Just a story chapter that's called balance. Unless they go big brain and bring a balance patch with the story chapter "balance" But I don't that will happen. I'm expecting 1 balance patch before EoD. The preparation patch.
  6. No. Not really. I like the dark magic caster that a necro is. Not the minions. If anything, minion traits need to be removed, because there's literally 3 minion traits in one trait line. While fear traits are in 3 different ones?! Also minions are extremely useless or let's say, frustrating to play with, because of their ai. Just delete minions already

I generally take them with a heavy dose of salt. They just seem like they are unadjusted to the reality of the game and are stuck in some fantasy land of "what they think the game ought to be". > > Yeah, I'd take a death match mode, a capture the flag mode. But this game doesn't have those - and at the end of the day, I still enjoy ranked point capture. I experiment with builds, I shove myself out of my comfort zone, and I don't follow the meta. I play to have a good time, I don't play to make it to the top 100 (because that involves stress and ultimately I play to de-stress, not to induce more stress). > > Yes, I'd like it if there were more updates - but I've also played and enjoyed other games that have long since finished updating. I will always love and appreciate and wish for more content, but I've accepted that (at-least for now, maybe this will change post expansion) Anet won't always deliver content consistently. I'm OK with that - or at the very least, I'm at peace with that and I can move on and enjoy my time playing. > > Though I also play rogue-likes, Nioh, DS. . .so evidently, I don't actually mind dying/losing in games (or I wouldn't enjoy those kinds of genres). So maybe it is different strokes for different people. Though I also think that "enjoying PvP" and "not wanting to lose" and incompatible desires. If you enjoy PvP, you've probably already accepted you won't win all the time and are ready to move on from there and enjoy yourself. I didn't say, that it's the worst gamemode (for me) because the gamemode is lacking diversity in gameplay (just having king of the hill). It's also lacking, because I feel like there's little to no room to build diversity, especially because of the amulet system. Also i feel like anet completely failed in their attempt to scale damage down. In spvp most builds have even more bursty, than in WvW, or at least people die there a lot faster. Also the matchmaking is horrible. I got placed in gold 2 after the ranking matches. And every single game is a coin flip. Theres almost no matches that end with a close score. It's always one team stomps hard. For example one day I was playing, I got up to almost 15k rating, got good teammates and didn't loose many games. The other day, i got either teams full of bots or with no brain. Thief's running to team fight, instead of capping/decapping. Decap druids dieing 1v1.... People running into the enemy team 1 by 1, while enemies are all stacked on one point. Theres absolutely no way to win those, and I dropped below 1300 rating really fast.

Clearly in all your time playing this game, you've not learned much. The biggest reason ranger counters necro is because it has range and disengaging skills for days and these are things that necro lacks and has no counter to. That doesn't mean that you will automatically win against a necro simply because you're on ranger; skill is still very much required as well as some measure of strategy along with the right gear. If you're going to go YOLO and take a Reaper head on in melee range with a suboptimal build while you're chilled and with blind fields down, you're playing into the Reaper's game and if they are not brain dead they will butcher you. > > > > > > > > There's still a ranger build that's extremely strong in melee range. > > > > 70-90% protection uptime > > > > 60-80% stability uptime > > > > > > > > Both counters reaper extremely hard. > > > > > > > > You can't land critical stuns because of the stab uptime and prot uptime makes you look like trying to hit the ranger with a wet noodle. > > > > > > > > Obviously it's not what OP is playing, else OP wouldn't have issues with reapers > > > > > > It's like 90% of thief/ranger nerf threads are populated by necro players...oh wait, it reminds me of those "nerf diamond skin" thread, one necro would start a new one every other day lol > > > > Not really, I recently played ranger for a bit, with different builds. Lol. You don't really want to get what I'm saying right? It has absolutely nothing to do with what class I'm playing. If you ask WvW players (roamers) for the best classes to roam with, I'd say 90% of those will tell you that thief and ranger are the best roamers. And the reason behind that is mostly their mobility, but thats not the only reason behind it. The reason is that they have a lot of good matchups. Are there other things that are extremely overtuned right now? - yes (torment rune condi rev, renegade-shortbow just to give another example) Are there things that are undertones? - yes (almost every ele build for example) It would be nice if these differences in power levels would be addressed every now and then. That doesn't mean that done classes have to be nerfed, it could also mean: buffing the weaker classes. The reason behind asking for needs: from what anet has shown, they want to reduce the power levels of all classes. So nerfing the strongest ones is the way to go, to bring them down to the level of the weaker classes. > > Also "my class takes skill...yours doesn't" ........it took me **1 day to learn just core necro condi**...."my class takes skill" my behind, the class design ins this game can be handled by a 10 years old, I can literally roam on every single class...I may not win every single fight on every class that I didn't use for months but....I would have enough material to cover those stupid "roaming montages" you lot keep in high esteem > > Sure some classes are easy to learn, but that doesn't say anything about how hard they are to master. For example thief is harder to learn than necro, but both are pretty hard to master, just in different aspects.
  12. Sorry but dude, if you wanna play power gs on mesmer, just play chrono. Elite specs are designed to get a new weapon, it's only natural, that this elite specs plays around with this weapon then. (Even though there are some exceptions) Would you like to get a new weapon, that has absolutely no synergies with the traits or the new play style the espec is supposed to bring up? @"Firebeard.1746"

And it basically doesn't have even one matchup, that's basically lost from the beginning just by class matchup. It's easy to kill a lot of builds, not many enemy builds needed real effort, and you can basically always run away, if you feel like you are loosing, because you made a mistake. Which is the definition of overpowered, or let's say, overtuned
  14. just got my set of 6runes and was exited, first thing i get after equipping them: crash. thats pretty frustrating
  15. > @"Morde.3158" said: > Ranger does not auto beat Necro, Ranger used to lose against anything until it got buffed starting with the longbow buffs. What game are you guys playing and how long have you been playing it? That's actually something we have to ask you. ranger roaming has been second strongest roamer for a very long time now. Not just half a year. Maybe like 2 years (but I actually think it has been much longer just with different builds - I remember condition trapper druid being extremely frustrating to play against while being extremely overpowered) And especially longbow is way too overturned right now. Longbow 2 same damage as well of suffering, but we'll of suffering has 30 seconds cooldown, and longbow 2 10 seconds. Also it follows the enemy and is 1500 range. While it's easy to dodge out of the well, it's impossible to dodge out of longbow 2 without taking any damage. And you can even further reduce the cooldown with traits. Same goes for the longbow autoattacks. Way too much damage. You can still do easily 3k autoattacks - on 1500+ range Reaper has to go melee, and does around 2k, 3k,5k with the autoattack chain in reaper shroud. The much slower great sword is mich less damage and you basically can't build for 100% crit out of shroud on necro, which makes it even worse. And don't Blabla something about being full glass. And no escape. That would be a straight up lie. Next: longbow 5. The only skill in the game that is allowed to be placed freely ANYWHERE, on top of walls, behind walls. Oh and btw, it also does way more damage than a well of suffering, while being a larger ae, having less cooldown that can be further reduced and while having a lot more range, and also dealing it's damage much faster than the necro well. Sorry but you shouldn't be defending a class, that's clearly overturned right now
  16. > @"Dadnir.5038" said: > Yep the nerf is insignificant, not so long ago _well of darkness_ didn't even have damages. Lol. It is significant. Assuming corruption had a 0.45 ratio, darkness a 0.8 and suffering a 0.9 all wells together that was 2.15 ratio and now 1.7 ratio. That's 21% less damage on the wells Spike. 21% isn't "insignificant". On such a high cooldown.

Pretty much everything else is done better than them by anyone else. Taking that away from Necromancer means that you need to make Necromancer far more competent in all other fields. Fun fact, in pve and WvW there's better boon removers than necro is xD
  18. Power hasn't been nerfed enough and no nerf to condi. That's really bad. Yeah Blabla, condi gets cleansed, Blabla. Except, it doesn't. Most of the times they tick at least once and in public zergs even more. It's just far too easy to stack burning as a guard, for the damage it does. Condis are supposed to ramp up, but burn is the highest damaging (non conditional) condi. And therefore guard has no ramp up. It's just burst damage.

(not sure it's the wisest way to tone it down thought) > - Thiefs changes are all understandable individually. I'd even say that the plasma nerf is pretty tame, it come from the mesmer, it should probably just give 3 random boons instead of the whole set. > - Warrior's change are interesting, the healbreaker is obviously targeted. Thought, the "tankier" builds get a nice buff. Yeah overall good changes. BUT There's still things missing. - Damage guard wasn't nerfed enough, it does still 1,5-2,5times the damage that other classes can do. - Arc divider damage seems to be overlooked as well. We had a berserker that did more damage with one skill than any necro with his whole kit, while having much more defenses. - Then ranger not being touched is a joke. Entangle needs a solid nerf as well as ranger longbow damage, and uptime of defensive boons without investing into boon duration - support ele took a huge nerf while engi wasn't touched at all, which basically makes support ele unplayable - engi bomb kit still does too much damage - then traits with 300seconds cooldown still didn't see a rework - some signature spells like executioner scythe from reaper should get a bit of their damage back, even though they are cc skills. - the emblems you get for kills and captures are still not sellable
  20. > @"Balthazzarr.1349" said: > It’s even easier than before to avoid the circle now and it only removes 2 boons now instead of four. Basically useless. You do realize that bubble wasn't taken because of the boon removal right? It is taken because of the secondary effect, which denies boon application. There's a downside and an upside with the change. It's good that it's static again, because you can actually move out of it. It's bad that the channeling is now gone because it's basically not possible to interrupt the bubble anymore. But it's very hard to balance such an powerful effect. Sorry but it's far away from being useless. For example ele patch notes sounded much more like " support ele now useless"
  21. Lol. Warrior bubble was the most op skill in the whole game mode. Making them back to their static version is a good thing. Also they forgot to nerf warrior damage, which makes warrior one of the strongest melee damage dealers in WvW blob fights right now

The ai of necro minions is so freaking bad, why would anyone want more of that? 2. Lifesteal builds don't really work, because lifesteal effects have to be "bad" because lifesteal is offens and defense at the same time, so they will always be "bad" in pvp and engage pve. So no. Please no lifesteal and please no minion spec. And especially not both combined. Also you already have that, just play blood magic/death magic and you get the lifesteal minionmancer . I want something fresh.
  24. Such an old build. This does much more damage than the shaman/marshal one. But the healing is rather bad, compared to the other build.
  25. Problem is. Chrono ist already the best stripper in longer fights in wvw!!! Why improve it further? You can easily get double the amount of strips than a scourge in longer fights. (Longer foghts = everything above 1 to 2 minutes
