  2. Three thoughts about general issues related to future PvP balancing

     

    1. ANET, when you gathering opinions from the forum regarding balance patches, please check people's PvP rating as well as their most played class. Players whose rating is below gold 1, 2, 3, or even plat 1 should have less or no say in the balance patches. Because mostly their complaints are learn to play issues. For example, Mirage, Engi, and maybe Soulbeast, might be less presented in lower ranks because beginners might shy away from those classes, but when people actually put effort to improve, those classes can be very strong. On the other hand, Warrior or Core Guard might be easy to start with, and they might be very power in lower ranks, but once people understand how they work, and understand to bite the Full Counter and dodge the hammer burst, they are not that strong anymore. It is really hard to play those classes in higher rankings. In sum, lower ranking players have less understanding of the game, and hence their opinions should be ignored.

    Moreover, player's class should also be taken into account. For example, if a thief complaining that he cannot 1v1 an Holo or SB, and say the two classes should be nerfed. Then this comment should be ignored. Similarly, Necros, particularly Scourges who complaining that they cannot 1v1 some other classes on the side node should also be ignored. Each player has a role, and the balance should be based on their roles.

     

    2. In ranked ques. It might be healthy to try as best as possible to match the scourge and Support combo. Many players do not understand to exploit the duo's low mobility and try to outrotate. Therefore, teams without that duo are in huge disadvantage, and I think it is not that fair. Of course, people might exploit them by switching classes. One solution is NOT to allow class swap (of course, in ATs or 5v5's it is fine to switch). Or, restrict swap to support classes or swap to support runes.

     

    3. What is the logic of doing major patch during the season? I dont understand.

     

    I really think the PvP system in this game is super! And please dont kill this game by keep providing terrible balances.

     

     

  3. punishment works. So there are several options: punish playing time after an afk (now we have it, but can increase the length); punish the points even harder; maybe even some gold (Note that you earn 2 gold after the daily achievements, so can deduce from that)

    Another idea is to give a voting mechanism. If a guy is afk in base for more than 30 seconds, then people are allowed to vote to kick him. He will get kicked after 3 or 4 votes. Can make it even more subtle, only report might be enough, so the guy does not even know (this latter mechanism is to prevent afkers to go into the match and to throw on purpose.)

    Maybe shatter when FC on CD? Watch the vid by shorts. He explains everything well enough.

    I dont understand. I think I read the topic~~ you said FC should be nerfed, and I think its a L2P issue.

    Another thing, mesmers have more than 2. I think most mesmers run energy on both weapons and dont forget the 25 endurance on heal use. Moreover, you have 3 short CD teleport that can be used both for aggressive or offensive, you have one long teleport, you have 1-2 invisibility. distortion, staff 2.

     

  5. Still cant believe people still crying to nerf SB further in late 2018... Seriously, try to stow weapon/bite/predict when the war will use the full counter. SB already has a hard time 1v1ing a number of condi based and some power based classes. it is a class for 1v1s and its not the best 1v1 classes out there.

     

    I really think Anet should try to assign different weight to opinions based on people's rank. In gold 2-3, true, war can achieve a lot, being able to hold or win 1v2. But once reach around plat 2. Its hopeless. Players start to know not to randomly press all the buttons and start to bite and predict skills. Then war is not that efficient in winning 1v1, it gets demolished in team fights especially with condi pressure and/or condi necros.

     

    And, there are different variants of the SB, I was referring to the standard dagger shield defense discipline SB. The sword strength/teether variant is different. But the problem is not a 10 sec CD FC. Its simply a L2P issue.
