Getting to crash the game when we face 30x30 in wvw. Was this the optimization that the company did to improve our experience? 8 years of game, thousands of gems consumed and apparently all that remains is to find another game to have fun, because the fun has become stress. I just face this problem in WVW, nor in worldboss I have this type of lag or crash in other game mode i got 105ms/120ms. Regarding performance, it's funny to remember that in DAoC, you often had slideshows (1 frame every few seconds (Seconds Per Frame) ) and had to look at the floor or face away from the fights to be able to move. But... that was twenty years ago. You'd expect this game to be much better and, in fairness, it is. 10 fps is pretty good.

Broken population along with linking which is a shambles . Professions broken out of all proportion. Broken Promises eg Alliances , Balance Patches , Server Lag , lets not forget the promise of communication to player base who support this game . Wonder who will actually make mention of it or when any of this this will be addressed Indeed, defending is very difficult these days. When Anet nerfed high tier walls, as part of a bigger change (that, surprise surprise, never happened), it put the nail in defending whilst outnumbered. There was good intention in the nerf, the devs talked on the livestream about the change bringing more fun because people will be inside structures. But there seemed a lack of consideration that the mode is 24/7 and that a lot of the time this encourages player to, rather than attempt a fun valiant last-stand, to a avoid the enemies altogether because of hopelessness. I would expect player interaction to be one of the design goals of WvW, not the opposite. Now it's turned into avoid-the-enemy ktrains. Remember EotM? This doesn't bode well.

IMHO that shouldn't be regarded as something positive in a game - it should surely appeal to a broader audience than just the elite? As such, skill shouldn't be seen as something to be lauded or rewarded. I think the Arenanet who made the game might have known this.

If D/P DD is the big problem then is it the D/P part or is it the DD part? I suspect it is the E-Spec driving the problem not the weapon spec. Not that the weapon spec itself isn't a problem, but is it as much a problem on Core or DE? No, and that is because of the DD dodge being a leap. Remove the leap finisher from the dodge and you may see DD become very balanced very quickly. Not that there are other things that could be done, but I suspect that would go a long ways by itself. > > > > I'd say its definitely daredevil. 3 dodges a side, lets just call it 2 like everyone else. It's a 450 range escape-evade that clears movement condis, and the whole line stacks -30% incoming dmg as well as giving weakness on enemy's after a successful evade and has a 15% dmg modifier. Who else wouldn't take daredevil lol > If for some reason Anet would nerf thief escape capability completely they would have to compensate it That's quite an assumption.

Could you kindly offer some positive suggestion that might aid us in our plight against players of this this god-like class, please - some insightful comments regarding counters other than, "git gud"? Four of us were forced to abandon our attempts to defend OUR camp due to two deadeyes. How is that even remotely fair or balanced?
  10. > @"LetoII.3782" said: > Just about selling skins, as if they couldn't have monitized AND made them real content. That costs more resources. If they wanted to JUST sell skins they'd introduce all the other mounts **without** any of their regular abilities (including flying). Having watched the devs livestreams, I think they genuinely wanted to provide a mount that's distinct for WvW, but the balance issues and ~~constant whinging~~ forum pressure from gankers forced them to nerf the living daylights out of them, making them some comical parody of what they were/should be.

  12. I play GW2 for the WvW. It's the Unique Selling Point. I can find other titles that do each of GW2's other aspects better. Story, Chatacters, Classes, Races, Raids, PvE, PvP all done better in other games.
  13. > @"Lucio.4190" said: > Interesting. I don't play much PvP (not at all), but why is this a problem? > If it is only a thief and a mesmer, I'd say "well done". I think it's pretty cool that the thief can move to areas that others can't and the game doesn't need to be in total balance on everything. It is, in fact, a Thief? > Or is there something special about this building that shouldn't make that possible? Towers are, it is supposed, meant to be captured by groups of cooperating players and a more significant challenge than a camp or sentry, which can easily be solo'd. With that in mind, let's go with some facts; * The thief is one of very few classes that are capable of soloing the lord. Be that with the ram blueprint trick or poison whilst out-of-combat or otherwise. * The thief was recently given the ability to portal 5 people. Now, it's arguable that thief should be able to teleport ANYWHERE on the map and that gates and walls are just inconveniences and the objectives have no purpose whatsoever. Fair enough, but this assumption makes the game less interesting, IMHO.
  14. Reducing Daredevil to two dodges - that nerf was justified, in the end.

I get it, it's easier/less risky/cheaper to be a follower than a leader, but you don't become a business owner if you're not into gambling. I guess this is what happens when the business **owner** isn't anywhere near their end product.

  20. > @"God.2708" said: > There are two flaws with desert BL > [..] > 2. The lords incorporate to many uncounterable/obnoxious PvE elements. A single strong element that defenders might take advantage of is fine (Stonemists Lord with his multiple AoE KDs, Alpine Keep lords and their single huge AoE burst), but the desert BL lords, especially keeps, are a constant string of problematic attacks and it makes it frustrating for an attacker to fight around. > I disagree completely. It's the Lord CC that makes fighting in the Lord room such a rewarding last-stand experience. Small groups (but not too much smaller) finally have a CHANCE against larger ones (but not too much larger). The Lord's CC makes a world of difference and if I had to make one WvW improvement it would be to put CC on Alpine and EB Lords. > @"God.2708" said: > 1. The two northern towers are 'lonely' and should be moved close enough that if an enemy takes them they can impact stoic rampart (objective hopping). Indeed, the remote nature of these towers lends one to feeling a lack of purpose when defending/capturing them. Why bother? It feels like a routine to complete with your karma train rather than something with any strategic elements. > @"God.2708" said: > Most other flaws people find with the maps are simply an element of the lack of population and interest in PPT scoring mattering. The original design was to give small parties a better edge when trying to havoc around a single large zerg, and it does actually do that. The motivation for trying to 'play' the map as is intended though isn't there. And, I don't think the map should be dumped because of problems that are not actually with the map. I feel like the map could certainly do with something more interesting in it. It is huge and intimidating and it's got some very fun elements, but the Stoic Rampart needs an invulnerable wall so the enemy can't go through two walls with one set of catapults (same on hills and bay on alpine map). The developers have tweaked the shrine bonuses many times but they could do to address things such as; * the travel powers are nearly impossible to get and maintain * nobody uses the fire portals because they're not reliably available Also, the little step (mini jumping puzzle) on your way from Stoic to Air keep could do to be a ramp instead. These are but few examples - so the map is great but needs lots of tweaking. It's wrong to say there are only two problems.

For reference I have the Saberclaw and Sand Lion skins that I use. I guess it's loading the basic stats for the Warclaw first and then changing the skin out a second later. Yeah, I need to upgrade my potato rig, so maybe the delay is on my end, but it's weird they would even program it to always load the basic skin before swapping it out. > > This happens on other mounts for me, maybe all of them. I haven't kept a list, but it's not unique to Warclaw or WvW. It's probably a graphics or lag issue, like when you WP to a place and it takes a second or two for the terrain and structures to show up. I think the game loads the basic model first, THEN loads the skin on top. Seems like a waste to me, but maybe it's to prevent it looking like the mount is invisible? TBH the loading screen should remain in place until it's all done, imho, but it I feel like it's taking longer and longer to load a map as the game (and my computer) ages.

  23. > @"Kunzaito.8169" said: > Personally, I fall in the middle. I think video game fanbases have developed the expectation that games like this will be constantly introducing new things to shake up gameplay. (I specify video games because there are plenty of board games that have been enjoyed by players for decades (if not centuries) using the same rule set, but most video gamers lose interest if they're not being fed "new content" regularly.) I guess this is why a lot of new board games have stickers that ruin the game, so you can/(have to) buy a new set of stickers for next time. > @"Kunzaito.8169" said: > As far as what would make the WC fun: in my opinion, the more unique utility the WC has, the more reasons you have to think about when/whether to mount up in a situation (or whether the enemy is mounted), the more using it feels like a dramatic difference from being on foot, the more fun it is. Because then it is bringing a new dimension, a new experience. If it (like now) is functionally the same as being on foot (or worse in the case of some highly mobile builds) but just acts like a bit of extra meatshield... that's pretty kitten boring. Boring or not, it's faster than walking, unless you're on a ganking class, ofc. So I think it's an interesting addition, at least it's something. If resources were made available at any time, there's potential to change the existing skills on it so they're useful, but the devs are unbelievably cautious about making it OP. Let's not forget that just having this great speed boost has shifted WvW so that it's much easier to get to an objective, meaning that attacks can occur more often without any defence (if the attack is by a huge zerg) OR that defenders can arrive at/(respawn and run back to) objectives too quickly for an attack to succeed (if the attack is by just a few players i.e. small scale ninja caps are less likely). **HOW to get things fixed** If you want something to be changed you need to get voices behind you. People complaining like there's no tomorrow, you need a lot of posts on threads in this forum. Nearly every incessant complaint has led to Arenanet action, but it takes a lot of different people on different accounts, it can't be the same guy complaining about Shattered Aegis all the time. That leads to nothing. Examples; * Orbs Cheating - Flying players ([reports about cheating being easier to recognise might mean the return of the orbs](https://massivelyop.com/2021/01/06/guild-wars-2-explains-how-it-reviews-every-report-of-botting-and-cheating-you-send-in/), I think) * Desert Borderland Map Redesign x2 * Warclaw Nerfs * Dragon Banner Nerfs **Things people don't complain ENOUGH about but which _should_ be fixed by the devs** The developers won't fix these things because there isn't enough outcry about them. * Obstructed range weapons at camps * Guild Objective Upgrades ** Auto Turrets - the alternative is unquestionably better in every situation. ** Hardened Siege - the alternative is unquestionably better in every situation. ** Armoured Dolyaks - the alternatives are unquestionably better in every situation. ** Turtle and Centaur should get buffs, the alternative is unquestionably better in every situation. Oops, I went way off topic. Sorry about that everybody. ><
