please lower the exp required for skills in HoT

why do skills require so much exp to be able to get them? it takes forever! I've already finished all PoT skills and Icebrood Saga skills without any issues, only playing regularly. I played HoT much more since it launched and I still have 4 skills to unlock.

for comparison, a few days ago I got the final skill in the current saga, and it required around 750k experience points. for HoT, the ones I need require 3 million experience points! and that¿s not even the last one of the tiers, the last on will require at least 4 million each. so in total I would need 3+3+4+4= 14 million experience to finish it. wich is ridiculous if you compare to anything after that. PoF and LWS5.

Please change the insane ampount of exprience required, it doesnt make sense and it would be nice to get them just by playing regularly, as I've done in other maps.

I think Skills require Hero Challenges.

 

For XP, the Dailies (LW Season 3) and Metas give quite a bit, I believe.

Honestly I though tthat PoF and Icebrood Saga exp requirements were far too low for my taste, but then again I dont mind doing meta grinds, which in HoT are quite awesome. A full mordremoth run nets you over 1,5mil exp with decent tagging, tarir is also easy to handle and nice in reward :)

Besides HoT was the first expansion for 2? years, wouldnt make sense if people finished the mastery tracks in a week.

i've done both tarir and dragon's stand at least 5 times each. i don't really enjoy grinding the same events over and over, and I haven't done it in any other zones, and i've managed to get enough exp for the masteries.

i don't think we should heve to grind 20 times the events to get enough exp for a mastery.

I play HoT since the time PoF+HoT were on sale earliest this year (I think January/February). And I have lots of free time to play. I have finished all HoT masteries a few weeks ago. (Except raids which are still hidden cause I don't do raids.)

 

Doing hearts (in LS3 maps) and meta events (in HoT) helped a lot ... and I gained a lot of the masteries just by going for achievements which neede me to stay on the maps a bit. A lot of the last 2 tiers I only got when I was in LS3 sine LS3 masteries are basicalyl free and I did one per map and the remaining exp per map while doing achievements went to the other HoT I still had to unlock.

 

So: It is possible without it feeling too grindy. (Also getting mastery points was not a big issue. I have left enough to do raid masteries if needed.) Why should they lower it when others did have to to the same high amount of exp that is rrequired now? Especially since most of the masteries are not needed for later content there also isn't a reason to lower the requirements so people can "prepare" for latest content. (Might be necessary in games that are set up like WoW but not here.)

Use +xp food, banners, boosters, guild hall xp buff. Many ways of increasing what you get. It may seem daunting, but its over fairly fast and you only have to do it once ever per account.

You don't have to grind anything for it. Dragon Stand just happens to be an efficient option for impatient people. Doing bits of everything works out just fine. I've maxed the HoT masteries twice that way.

 

Everything takes too long if you are impatient enough.

Get some boosters and food going for exp and you'll get it done moderately quick.

 

It used to take a lot more exp to complete the masteries in the early days of HoT.. grind was very real back then lol

I guess my only hope is grinding events over and over for 14 million exp. Which is about 150 hearts or events, since they give an average 20k each...

TBH i think the new Season 5 exp requirements are just right. HOT was to long, POF and season 4 was to short.

You can get that exp over and over with alt characters as well, you don't have to grind it all on a single character ^^

I only have 1 character though. I don't have time to play more than 1 character.

Do Dragon Stand escort. You should get that much over like 7 metas if you use boosters and tag as many enemies as you can.

I'm right in the middle of this myself. I do have (what I consider) to be the most important masteries unlocked, I have a looong way to go until the HoT skils are completed.

 

While it is going to take a lot of XP, my bigger concern at the moment is where to find all of the required mastery points for maxing out all trees. I've cleared all map mastery points, but as of right now I'm about 35 points short of what I'll need in total. I do seem to be missing a lot of points from the LS3 quests, but those kicked my ass the first time. lol. Not sure how much more success I'll have at snagging the missing points if I run it again, but that may be something I have to chip away at slowly.

If you have the whole ls3 set, theres more than enough. Im sitting on about 20 hot mastery points left over with every thing maxed. Even the small raid line.

I do have all of LS3 at my disposal, so that's good at least! I'm just horrible at clearing those achievements it seems, but that's my own problem. At least the points will be there :3

I remember this taking ages, especially at the points in the story where you have to level up a mastery to advance. My recollection is that it's quite easy/quick to get experience in Bloodstone Fen, if you have that unlocked, since the events are frequent and easy to get to. I don't really like the big HoT map events personally, since you have to play them in the game's schedule rather than your own (and for a few other reasons).

Personal story awards Central Tyria mastery experience, so it doesn't help with HoT masteries. If you mean the HoT story, then no, it doesn't award anywhere near enough. In fact, it seems deliberately designed that way.

Sorry, I meant the personal story through HoT. Even if it doesn't grant enough, it is more than just events. /shrug
