Can we get a way to obtain the deathly shoulder skins this Halloween?

I agree, these should come back. All the other items from the 2012 black lion chests/mad king's chest have been made available again so I'm not sure why these haven't.

What's the difference? I have both versions of the first skin (the green one which is just called Mad Memoires) and they look the same to me. I never got the Complete Edition in 2012 but looking at the Wiki both the [original](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_Memoires:_Complete_Edition_(discontinued)) and the [2017 re-release](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_Memoires:_Complete_Edition) appear identical.

I did get hold of these within the last year or two - all three shoulder skins are currently available within the Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock / Guaranteed Armor Unlock.

But yeah, those are rng unlocks and making older skins more available is always a good thing, so I'm all for a way for people to work towards them at Halloween.

P.S. Bring back the Boxing Gloves for costume brawls while you are at it - not available since 2013 :)

In this case it's not so much that they locked them as the way they were obtained was removed and they never added a new one to replace it. They originally came from Black Lion Chests, during Halloween 2012. This was the first time Black Lion Chests were updated after launch and the first time they offered cosmetics as a possible drop. The first implementation of that system was...controversial. I can't remember all the details but I remember the low drop rate for skins was a nasty surprise for some people, there was no alternative (like claim tickets or statuettes) to let you get the drop you wanted if you weren't lucky and I think there were other issues too. The [Mad King's Chest](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mad_King_Chest_(historical)) was added as a way to allow players to turn the junk items they got from chests into a second chance at the skins and they promised to offer better systems in future.

For Wintersday 2012 they went with an entirely separate loot box which only dropped a small list of festival themed items, but that was still pretty controversial (especially because it was possible to get account bound duplicate items) and they kept experimenting with different options in successive releases. Bazaar of the Four Winds in July 2013 gave us Kite Fortunes, which dropped an early version of black lion claim tickets, then the tickets themselves were added in the next release.

But then Halloween 2013 (and 14) was a re-vamped event with a lot of changes from the 2012 version (which was also the first in-game event they'd done) with all new rewards so the 2012 stuff didn't come back. But the time they started bringing back stuff from the original Halloween event I suspect these were forgotten.

There is no difference besides the binding and the stat selection (the newer one is account bound instead of soulbound and has more stat combos available).

And as you know, there are also several other versions of this skin:
