I broke out of the map again and I love it.

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if there were others that did this lol. I have found my fair share of places while exploring Tyria as well. The place the OP posted was one of the first places I found and was (until recently) my favorite place. A lot of the maps don't seem to have anything crazy going on upon breaking out, however there are some great things in some maps.

Some examples are:

The creepy place under the Silverwastes:

The Tower where you fight Mordremoth (then proceeded to climb it lol):

The place I like to call "The great black hole of Hoelbrak":

and my new favorite, The cliffs outside of The Grove (these are nice during the day, but night time is the best time to be there so you can fly among the stars):

I must admit. Finding places like this is always a lot of fun and quite interesting. :D

More to comment about doing it in Aion : you could navigate to the bottom of the Sanctum (main city) and find town houses and other sites underneath it, as if there was an intention to put something down there.

You could also use mounts to break through houses and locked doors to eat at people's private tables. (If you had your food mysteriously eaten, it wasn't me).

I find that when I'm a little blah a good breakout attempt helps improve my mood.

It crazy how much unused space there is on some maps or spaces that are just one off use in a story then blocked off like the Sealed Cavern. They need to do a current event storyline where the Pale Tree where gets better and The Grove is improved by adding water access along with docks, beaches and little Sylvari style huts on the beach. They could add direct access to Southsun Cove via a long map vapor portal between the two. There is plenty of space outside the Grove main area for it. They could put some farms in the Privet Gardens.

I used to report most of my findings to exploits@arena.net. Especially when there was a possibility to exploit game-mechanics. However there is no guarantee, the holes get fixed. Adventurers usually receive no punishment for breaking maps. You have to do a lot to be considered a threat.

Now all we need is tinfoil hats in the Gem Store... ;)

Well, given the thread about getting under Lion's Arch because oddities in the Skimmer mounting process, I have to say that there is a non-skimmer way of doing it. Griffon up in the southwest corner, where there's a huge green gate guarded by Caromi tengu. You griffon up to the right-hand clifftop beside the gate (right when looking at the gate from the normal world. Dismount and run past the gate and then fly/glide down into the space behind the gate, and presto, you're under Lion's Arch.

We've only been keeping that place an open secret for years. Way to kitten.

Last year I missed a jump in SAB 1-1 trib and fell through the world instead of dying. It was fantastic. I wasted most of the 100 coins from an infinite continue coin charge trying to get back down there. lol :)

I'll try to come back and post a couple pics when I get home!

> Wonder what the story behind northwest Dragon's Stand is? Someone put quite a bit of work into that - even if many areas are clearly not fully detailed, there's quite a bit to see out there.

Curious about that also. Not to mention that the beach and the red light there is amazingly beautiful.

I've fallen through the cracks a few times - it seems to happen mostly on revenant when mist-walking. It's never convenient though. I always get stuck and it's a bitch to get back out because it seems like I'm always 'in combat'. They really should make a / command that lets you force a break from 'in combat' status when nothing is hitting you and you are hitting nothing for a certain period of time.

The desync with the mounts make is super easier to go under a map. By the time you are resynced your character moves like across the map and then under the map. Happens alot in SW - I found the main issue is actually with the default mount skins - since changing the skin on all my mounts I don't have this problem anymore only with default ones.
