Characters in chairs are to static

Our characters are to static in the chairs. I'd love it if the characters would move around, shift positions and generally fidget. It'd also be nice if some emotes would work while sitting like talk. Dance could make the character tap their feet like their tapping to the beat of a song.

Is that so? On the dragon chair, my female human elementalist wears a smug face while tapping her feet slightly after an imaginary tune in her head. The animation is subtle but well appreciated.

The Norn female is fairly rigid while sitting.

the term you're looking for is Stoic. And that is a very Norn thing to do.

Norn's stoic? I imagine Norn would have a hard time sitting still. Boasting, drinking and fighting is what they are about. Sitting stoic is hardly a Norn thing.

Both fit the norn. They are a culture with variety as well and stoicism fits them just as well as the boasting and drinking. Think of Forgal or Eir for example. I see them holding a point for months without end, bound by duty and the legend they achieve to become.

Totally agreed, or as a minimum, add emotes like /talk, /wave, /yes, /no, /point, /cheer, /sad and /beckon to be available on chairs/mounts.

I think an issue is they made chairs mounts, so not only does that limit where you can use them, but it also likely inhibits things like dying, animations, etc.

I suggest you try them in story missions, for instance at the end of "The Departed", when you reunite with your guild mates. So frikkin' funny! My norn was cooly leaning back while discussing plans, then leaning back forward. Also face movement was enabled while sitting in the chair. =)

Which ones? I tried all of them with my Norn female engineer and she just sits there. The only motion is a slight movement from breathing.
