  1. This game is what you want to make it. I started out super casual. For the first 5 years I think I maybe had crafted 2 legendary items. Never raided, dabbled in fractals and dungeons but kept a just for fun mindset. Then ever since equipment and build templates and the announcement of the Legendary Armory I started to ramp up my dedication to try to obtain legendary items. Approaching 30 now... So basically what I am saying is as you grow older your priorities will more than likely change and what you may not find interesting now you will later or vice versa. This game automatically tailors to where you are at as a player. The one knock of have on this game is that people who are playing the end game content feel neglected because most content in raids, pvp, wvw, and fractals rarely if ever get any updates worth mentioning. Anet seems to think living world stuff should suffice but it does not.
  2. If you're looking for a base game class that has DOT that has a valid build for PvP I would recommend Necromancer. Its not top tier meta but it is up there. Check out [Vanilla Condi Necro](https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Necromancer_-_Vanilla_Condi_Necro) on Metabattle.
  3. Festivals are great the first year you do them. Then each year after that you do less and less. Not enough new content to keep me interested. I fear this will never change since they use them as a content filler so they can code for other things.

Instead of 2 links together, it would be multiple links together since server would be smaller. > > Note: Free transfer is to help guild members to play together. Smaller server is to prevent stacking too much in the same server and give more flexibility to link servers to create balance match up. The thing "alliance" is fixing is enabling guild to play together without creating too much server stacking issues. I could potentially see a problem with queues getting out of control. Especially if there are multiple links involved If there are free transfers to any place what would the populations look like there? Would there be a limit? If so that could potentially leave people out that wanted to be with their guild? No matter how simple the solution may seem to be there always are complexities to this particular situation. I'm just playing Devils advocate here to see if this could actually have traction or not.
  5. Just curious how coverage would work? Even at higher tiers with full populations there can be giant gaps in content. If they did go smaller how would you deal with the possible boredom from no one to fight?

I planned to just read the forums but I had to log in to give you a thumbs up. So many times this is the case. This game would be pretty lame if they all behaved like the Mursaat Overseer. For those that don't know he basically just stands there and lets you hit him...
  7. That's cool at least we would know who to point the finger out when the game still remains unbalanced. lol!
  8. Ultimatums most never work in most places in life and are typically manipulative. No one wants to be forced to do anything for any reason. Its a typical power play move of people that are fed up or feel out of control. It would take an inordinate amount of people to feel the same way you do to make anet even consider this. As people have suggested there are better ways to handle the cosmetic effects. I know nothing has been mentioned by anet about this but I believe that they have something brewing like an effects tab or whatnot. I personally don't mind people showing off their creative side. I personally would love to turn off the 7 orbs floating above my characters head.

I think the original game that they made without our input was a lot better then the stuff added later cause of popular demand. I am going to have to disagree with you on this. There has been a lot of turn over at anet. To say the replacements have the same vision would be a reach. I would go as far as saying they don't listen to the people they need to enough. The people who actually play the game. Sure there is a contingent that comes to these forms that still play but there is also those who come here to stir the pot who have not logged in in ages. Most of the content released is not something that I wanted or thought would improve the game. So nobody from anet was listening to me or taking what I thought into consideration. My personal opinion is that anet focuses to much on casual content for a player base that is not steady. There is lack of advertising for this game to focus toward new players so why not put your focus toward the veterans? Quality of life changes, game engine changes, conversion of archaic code, make more customization for players to obtain, and create an avenue for players to submit content just to name a few. I am not saying to a stop to the story by no means but either higher more staff or make sure a specific percentage of workforce are always on these type of things. In short players leave when they feel like they are not being heard. Not listening to what their wants and needs are would be a detriment to this game.
  10. When the armory was announced I had 2 legendary items now I have 28. A bit disappointed that I was able to get that much done and the armory still has not been released.
  11. Just like Firebeard recommended your best bet is to purchase a kill. That is if you have no intention of getting into raids. Just make sure you tell them you just want to unlock the raid mastery track. That way they know they just have to do the easiest instance to get you what you want. I would guess it would cost some where in the realm of 100 to 200 gold. Some people only accept mystic coins so be ready for that. Its pretty easy to find a seller if you look in the LFG under raids.
  12. I am personally not a big sylvari fan. BUT Your artwork and story are top notch. I would love to see you do something for Norns
  13. This is on the same list of Alliances, Legendary Armory, and PvP & WvW balance. Don't Hold your breath.
  14. You ever watch a movie get half way through it and then come to the realization that its bad? You want to turn it off but you can't because you have already invested to much time into it and its almost over any way so you push through watching the rest of it. This to me is the Saga in a nutshell. I was not in a hurry to get to the new expansion but I have now become antsy. I just want to move on from this.
  15. Its all relative. Depends on what you are doing when you are doing it. I can say for sure that there has never been a time in the history of this game that I ever felt like I was the only one playing the game. Also there are still enough players to warrant aent to make another expansion even after they said they were not going to a while back. I'd say hop in and test the water. Lots of content to explore.
  16. When it comes to classes it comes down to your personal preferred play style. When I started I thought I was going to enjoy Thief.... I was wrong I was horrible at it. What I am saying is give all the classes a chance. Its best to make them now so you can start accruing your birthday rewards and you will be able to secure the names that you want. I ended up playing Guard for 2k hours after thief. Now I main Necro and just about put in 2k hours there. I still have all the other classes geared out and ready to go if one day I decide to change it up. You will want options just in case you get bored some day. Since you are fairly new I leave you this advice take your time learn the UI and the game. Remember its is a marathon not a sprint. Good Luck!
  17. I fear that they are going to use this as the next big thing for the expansion. HoT got gliders. PoF got mounts. EoD will be legendary Amory. If this is the case I will be upset. Don't get me wrong I want this feature to come out. I just don't want it to be the focal point outside of Cantha.
  18. Any aggression in either Team or Map Chat is met with a right click and block. < sarcasm > I can not play with these master strategist. They are just to good. < /sarcasm > If this is you. Please stop. It never works. Be friendly you may get what you want.
  19. I joke around now amongst my friends asking if they want to do some Structured Open World. To me they feel to long for something that is meant to be repeatable. While organized groups will get through it faster. Pug groups trudge through each instance. I am not a fan of any new instanced content / game mode anet makes because of the history of most if not all instanced content thus far. Its generally forgotten about once the "next big thing" pops in their head.

So would , in your opinion, describe the norn lore we have received thus far immersive? If so then your and my opinion of immersion is different. Because the portrayal of the future content made it out to be something grandioso lore extravaganza. That holds true for the char but not so much for the norn in my opinion.
  22. > @"HotDelirium.7984" said: > We got so much Charr stuff and very little Norn. Felt like a 70/30 split. Wait a minute you got some Norn Lore?!? I feel as it someone rewrote the narrative on this story and lobotomized the Norn parts out of the story. It's this reason I have not enjoyed the Saga yet. When they started talking about the saga they spoke about giving more char and norn culture. Up to this point I've gathered more about Norn Culture from creating a new character than I have playing the saga up to this point. 1:14:25 - Reference to the immersion of both Norn and Char cultures. 1:18:27 - 1:21:07 - Speaking about Norn & Sons of Svanir >! After watching that again they really didn't go into the Norn information like they did the Char. They spoke more to the environment and spirits more than anything else. I guess information on the missing spirits is part of Norn History but it does not really get into their core culture. Every thing we have learned thus far has been through interaction between Braham and Eir and for most of that Braham acts like a child throwing a tantrum which does not really align with a society of people trying to increase their legend. Maybe we will learn more but I'm not getting my hopes up. >! >! I was really hoping for new dominant Norn characters to interact with. See how they interact with Braham and with your character whose legend is pretty big and may not be a Norn. Maybe some more information on why your legend matters if they never seem to interact with one another outside of moots. Maybe go into explanation on the upbringing of a Norn child. Like Braham growing up without his real mother.
  23. They already have a system in place they could tie this to. [black Lion Expedition Board](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Black_Lion_Expedition_Board) all they would have to do is add a feature that would loot your home instance and it would be delivered once a day in the [black Lion Delivery Box](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Black_Lion_Delivery_Box_(disambiguation)). You only get the delivery if you log in each day. If you don't log in they don't deliver to your mail. So in short they don't accrue while not playing. I know it would effect the games economy. But honestly what doesn't? I am one of those material hoarders. So me getting this ability would have low impact on the economy. Sure some would sell and great for them on taking the time out to do so. But not all nodes can be made liquid and are account bound. Going to the home instance to harvest is not content to me. It takes time out of what I would rather be doing. If Anet added a convenience like this I would gladly shell out the cash to get this day one.
  24. In the past 700 matches I've encountered 2 actual hackers porting around the map. Bots on the other hand to many to count. I wouldn't mind getting rid of both.
