  1. I was a hard core open world dungeon running fractal pushing PvEr. Then I wanted a GoB and Warclaw. Here I am 3,600+ levels later with 96 GoB's in the bank. Give it a chance actually put your heart into it. What was stopping me was an ignorant fear of failure. It is okay to fail. It is okay to die. It is okay to ask questions. Didn't take me long to figure out there was no one with a counter keeping track of my deaths! :skull:

Pretty much this game has turned into a game that is only meant for players who are just now starting to play it. Anyone besides that is just becoming fed up or bored to death which ever comes first. I can agree with that. I have been playing with a group of players that have been on for only about 6 months because 98% of my old friends have moved on. Its so funny their perspective on the game versus mine. When they look at the game they see all this stuff to do. While when I look at the game all I see are the things that are neglected. So I have to stop myself from being two negative around them because I don't want to ruin their experience. I always joke about how the development team is developing from a sports car with no breaks and no rear view mirror because they don't look back and rarely check their shoulder their always zooming to the next new thing!
  3. Short answer yes it can carry a weak team in both raids and fractals as long as you know what you are doing. If you are running with an experienced group they probably will ask you to change from it. So basically what I do is have 3 builds on my necro. Power reaper, condi scourge, heal scourge. I swap between them as I need them. Most times my heal scourge does not get utilized. Is having 3 builds normal for new players not really, unless you are really dedicated. I would start with power reaper first then make your heal scourge and last make your condi scourge. As for WvW transfusion is heavily frowned upon in the groups that I run with. Every time someone is transfused you will hear someone call out that it happened followed by the commander telling people to switch their builds. For WvW you will more than likely want to start a full Celestial build on your scourge if your zerging. If you are roaming you will be fine with your power reaper. Just want to add if you do decide to get in a zerg make sure you focus on boon strip because that is a scourges job in a zerg. Good Luck!

  5. I've found the easiest solution is move yourself away from the issue.
  6. Why so I could not use those too on all my characters? I can not remember when the last time I had one of these on my bar. If anything they need to actually make them useful first.
  7. In my opinion this game is mostly set it and forget it content. It feels like a test bed of ideas that were almost complete thoughts. Once something is "complete" it is rare that it gets updated. So people feel like the content that they love is forgotten. We keep pushing so far forward we are forgetting to fix/up keep the parts of the past. If you are on these forums for any amount of time you will see a whole lot of "its to hard for them" posts. Not to mention "I would rather them work on this" posts. We constantly make excuses and confuse each other about what we want ANET to work on. The fact of the matter is all of it needs to be worked on. Every game mode should matter no matter the amount of players that enjoy it. Most of the time its the problems that drove the people away from these game modes. So if they were corrected would people come back? Who knows. I would wager some would. Not to mention the people who are new to said game modes. Would they play it more if it was better than its current state? Probably. New story content is great for the month that you actually play it. But if you are a vet like me and been in this relationship since beta you know that all of that is short lived. Most people play through the content one time and then farm for the items they like/want and go find something better to do. So while that is all well and good the forgotten instanced content is where people tend to spend most of their actual play time. Keep in mind I am not talking about the time we spend chatting in town. The competitive modes have been stagnant for a long time and need to have some serious TLC given to them. The recent job posting is great in all but they really need more than just one. So lets hope that is for multiple positions. I know we are charging towards and expansion and that will help player retention but so will tightening up what we already have. The promises that they have made and not kept has hurt moral. Most of them feel like a bad Duke Nukem Forever joke. This game is a jack of all trades master of none. That is fine but I think we need to raise the bar on all of that content across the board. I know its about money and numbers but why can it not be about making the whole game better overall as well? Player retention is paramount in my book. Because without players there is no cash flow. If more people are sticking around and playing there is more profits to be had. My wish after saying all this is for them to expand their teams. Keep growing the game while not neglecting what they have already created. I do really like this game and will continue to play it for as long as the servers are running but it sickens me to see all the untapped potential this game has and I think the cure is more people on each team. That is all...
  8. The fight that sticks out in my mind the most is the [Twisted Marionette](https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Twisted_Marionette). This should have been a permanent feature in Lornar's Pass. It could have been another world boss.
  9. I used to like them all but they have grown very stale. I know it is meant to be repeatable content. But to keep the vets engaged there needs to be some sort of carrot that we want to grab. Not just 50ap and a skin / mini that is uninspired.
  10. I got this specific item 3 weeks ago. The chest spawn directly after I finished the River of Souls. I did not have to do the statues to get the chest to spawn. If it is not appearing for you then it is definitely bugged. My only suggestion is skip Soulless Horror and try to get an instance starting at the River. Only reason I say that is because that is what I did when I was able to get it. Edit: I also looked for the chest directly after the completion of River of Souls. I did not leave and comeback to the instance. Good Luck Hope this helps you out.
  11. @"Carcharoth Lucian.1378" Thank you it was driving me crazy!
  12. See you when you come back!
  13. There is no real steady way to earn gold in WvW. It varies from night to night by how much content is on and how well you or your group is doing. I suggest find a meta class you prefer to play and put a reward track enrichment in your amulet and sell everything you earn. Even with doing that the time it takes is far greater than it would in other avenues of the game. If your purpose is only to make gold I would hard pass WvW.
  14. > @"Swamurabi.7890" said: > > @"schloumou.3982" said: > Does any player really have any expectations for WvW? Anyone? Probably not. I do have hopes though. I don't think there is ever a bad time to work on something that is broke. Will it make people come back to WvW that quit? Maybe, if the changes are significant and head in the right direction. But for that to happen people have to be willing to accept change. And people can say they want it all they want, but when change happens is the tide of complaints of how it should have been done. Just look at the warclaw. Injected something new into the old system. So the question is how to change something that people don't want changed but they claim they do? The answer for me is a total rework. That could mean almost anything / everything. But a major update would have a big draw and if it was good people may stick around. The community has some great ideas and their teams should draw from that.
  15. Unless you make your own group with like minded people then you will always get a pretty heavy dose of needing KP or "L2p". I am a fairly experienced in raids. Not god tier by no means but what I have found is that just because you learn something one way does not mean that is the way it is ran by the next group. You will be judged constantly. Everyone will be running arcdps (not really but assume so) and watching your performance. Giving you tips on how to do your rotation. Just assume when your a healer if someone dies its automatically your fault. Even if they didn't know the mechanics or made a mistake. You must prove yourself. When you decide to partake in raids this is the agreement that you sign up for. Either you have tough enough skin to brave the flames and let the words roll off your back or you will get upset and quit. You may think its dumb but so is waiting 15 min for a specific class to join so you can clear something 2 min faster and that happens. So normal logic does not always apply. If you want change, you have to be the one willing to take the first step. There is more than enough content to teach you what you need to know to command your own group. Or you can be like me and roam the LFG looking and waiting for things that I want to do. I am at the mercy of people making groups or needing more. I choose this just as you choose to be restricted by KP and armor requirements. So you can let this dictate you or you can control it. The choice is yours. Here is a funny story to leave you with. I joined a group we 1 shot the whole wing. No one died no mistakes. I asked if we were doing more. The commander replied we are! but your not because you suck! and kicked me. I laughed so hard tears came to my eyes. Sure they could have been serious but I took it as a joke. This game and life is about how you react to it. Don't get upset do it as how you feel it should be done. Good luck!
  16. I understand what you are getting at but the options are bias. You could add more options as well.
  17. I don't see this happening. Your best bet is to go to youtube search GW2 Raid Lore and watch everything raid related that WoodenPotatoes has posted on the subject. To be honest you probably would get more out of that than actually playing through the wings yourself.
  18. I only play scourge in WvW. All of my 3,600+ levels are from it. Sure people make fun but there is a role for everyone in a zerg. As a scourge yours is to corrupt boons. If you use the trait Feed from Corruption in the scourge trait line every boon you corrupt comes to you. A good scourge will not always drop shades or Breaches on group because boons are quickly reapplied. I find anticipating where the enemy zergs going and dropping everything you got on where they are going to be. This takes practice and it will be greatly different depending on the commander you are facing. Staying on tag is a must if you get caught straying to far away from tag you may be testing your nearest waypoint. Barrier can save your life. If you do happen to make a bad move you can save yourself with properly timed barriers to help you make it to your group. Remember to not use all of your barrier at once. People will continuously try to lock you down use your barrier to cleanse the lock down and let you keep moving. Sigil of Stamina will also help with your mobility because of your ability to hit many targets at once and someone is almost always getting killed and it will refill your endurance bar each kill. Evade your way to safety. When you see the enemy start to scatter its your job to focus the back line. Load them with conditions to stop them from getting away. This is the only time it is acceptable to freelance and get away from your tag. That is my quick 5 min overview of my over 1,100 hrs in WvW as a scourge. I know everyone plays it different but this is what I found to be most effective for my play style and group.
  19. I see nothing wrong with removing bots from any ranked competition on any game, in any game mode. Ranked play should be for human only. I don't care if its F2P or not. If the problem is "there wont be enough players playing the game mode" Well then make modifications to the loot tables to make it worth while. You need have the proverbial carrot. As for players running bots they need to be gone all across gw2. I would love to see if an account is caught using a bot that it would be banned for the first offense for a week. 6 months for the 2nd offense and Permanent for the third. Anet should code their own bots to play in unranked games to make sure wait times are manageable. This would allow players to learn the mode and the bots could be scaled to the difficulty of the team they are playing.
  20. For me there is no reason to. It is one an done content. While it is great in all for the one time you get to experience it fresh. It is not what I call repeatable content. Rewards for story content are blah.
  21. I always dislike the whole don't do you this because I want something different posts. But I honestly think that game optimization for current gen computers is a must for the longevity of this game.
  22. This sounds fun in theory. But when I think about it. I just can't bring myself to do it. So spoiled now with all the account luxuries, its hard to go back.

  24. > @"SpellOfIniquity.1780" said: > If you've ever heard of the game Ashes of Creation, a MMORPG that's currently in development, it has the kind of system you're wanting. Any combination of classes can be used to create entirely new classes. There's something like 64 different possibilities. I will have to look that up. The game I always go back to is Ultima Online. You could literally do anything in that game. To bad EA had to go and ruin it. You could combine anything you wanted without limitation. Everyone only had so many attributes to use and you could use them as you wanted. This coming from a game that was released in 1997. Nothing has came close since.
  25. I personally think that weapons should not be tied to specializations at all. I would like to see all weapons available for all classes without needing a trait equip. Then every now an then add new trait lines to add to build diversity. I would also allow both scourge and Reaper trait lines to be used concurrently along with any new lines we see in the future. For example if you select both scourge and reaper at the same time your F skill abilities would be something totally new. Restrictions do not promote build diversity and I wanna blow up the whole idea of traits and weapons up entirely.
