  1. i find it very easy compared to shaterred observatory, first time i did it was it guys was just "exploring" it for first time.
  2. > @"Hypnowulf.7403" said: > So here's the problem: Casuals are money, hardcore players are not. In the hardcore mindset, the need for reward dictates that ArenaNet should be doing all they can to sate that desire for the raider's "hard work." There is little concept of recompense that I have borne witness to in raid culture. What this means is that any product that isn't _that one_ (World of Warcraft, yes) is doomed to bankruptcy. See: WildStar. > Anet is right, "raid economy" hurts the game. first they create a "elite group" aka experienced speed runners, then later, these speed runners just sit themselfs on LFG selling runs. but the Catch-22 of this content kill itself in long-term, so starts complaints about "no ones play its anymore", at same time they still blame pugs for game mode ruin. in WvW we see this sometimes, dudes complaining about game mode dying at same time complain when Anet try attract pugs/casuals to the game mode.
  3. i spent my vacations farming Drizzlewood almost, is a fun, engegin meta, and at end, i completed my exordium with profit here. But think what if u spend 1 week "farming" DRM, what u get at cost of such dull content?

It's pretty neat and almost legendary quality! Too bad it was locked behind BLC drops and now a time-gate until we can get it for statuettes... > > the flame effect is good, but still its a ugly "big stick", also same old pattern, their fixation with "volcano/lava rock" theme(the texture of that greatsword is "rocky") when come to fire, basically legendary quality i mean a exordium like stuff.
  5. @"kharmin.7683" said: > Need and Want are two different things. I'd rather resources be spent elsewhere. I don't need this at all. infusions and cosmetics effects inst a xpac or even a new armor. and ofc "we need it" me and other players wanting the same.
  6. Unless u have lots of free time, u must to stick to sites that monitoring gold per hour, atm Drizzlewood Coast and DragonFall are the best. I recommend this one they monitore lots of metrics. https://fast.farming-community.eu/ The "meta trains" are popular these days, with so many options is almost a matter of balance between boredom and profit. Some ppl like Fractals for example, other ppl like the time-gated metas. Some people are "trade person" and have skills to monitore market, prices and stuff, im not. but even this requires some extra-free time. If u are alergic to expansions, just stick to Silverwastes; If u like advanced craft to increase profit, u can combine a DragonFall and Drizzlewood to avoid burnout, DragonFall give more yellows, and Drizzlewood give more ingots. also theres the opening bags in 51 lvl characters if u run out of leather and linen, so u can craft **Dreldimor Steel Ingot, Bolt of Damask, Elonian Leather Square and Spiritwood Plank** everyday, time gated stuff, normally have more than 1g~3g of profit and price oscilate more. DragonFall and LS stuff have the bonus to give lots of extracurrencies, so u can conbine a LS4 farm to always have currencies for ascedend trinkets and legendaries. Since im not new to the game, and have farmed HoT since begin, im not worrried about legendaries currencies(im swiming on AB/TD currencies). EDIT: i noticed u focus is on base game. Theres the ley-line anomaly, is basically granted 2g per day. Ley-line+Dailies is 4g. if u dive into fractals u can earn easily 30g daily.
  7. Just compare to bluish/ice ones, theres tons of options. The red like infusions, of fire themed are boring or ugly. I have the Koda ones, basically only show on some human armors, anything bigger will make it dissapear.. i have fallen balthazar outfit, u barely notice kodas flame. We dont have anything like a 'red versions' of Ghostly infusion. The ember infusion is ugly, i wonder why anet have fixation to tie anything related to flames with rocks, we know primordus is a "lava rock" dragon, but because of this we should have been tied to this "thematic" forever? Lets check the blue, ice, "light purple", sky blue like infusions: - Ghostly Infusion. - Winters Heart Infusion. - Snow Diamond Infusion. - Frost Legion Infusion. - Mystic Infusion. - Peerless Infusion. - Otter's Blessing Enrichment. Not counting that all legendary trinkets are "light purple" thats fits in way or another a "light color" themed character. Just to compare lets see the redish infusions: - Ember Infusion (ugly, overexpensive, overused "lava rock" theme). - Koda's Warmth Enrichment (lots of clipping issues, the similar effect u get on Bitterfrost frontier map is more visible than this), also overexpensive too, at time i did make mine it was near 1000g, luckly it was at time when AB multimap farming was running. - Heart of the Khan-Ur (crazily expensive, also like ember infusion is a just a confuse, "rock like" red or flame effect, i never seen this in game, by the pictures i barely can get the "theme" they wanted with this, so be the "powerful khan ur guy" mean have a crazy skin effect?). Im not even couting the cheap implementation of Polysaturating Reverberating Infusion (Red), Polyluminescent Undulating Refractor (Orange), is just a cheap/lazy implementation of already existing other colors effects, im dont count this as "hey guys we wanna do a cool red/fire like effect for u";. Also i hope new expansion bring some decente legendary "flame" greatsword, its was should be balthazar one with big effects like Exordium(i have one), the Ascalonian Halowwen one and fallen Balthazar one are the coolest til now, the others are just a "big stick" designed for childs i guess. And pls stop with this obscession with rock/lava when come to a "fire" theme, we have enough of this since flame legion armor from dungeons.
  8. too much things to "detect", it wil not overload the "subroutines"? im not insighter of GW2 engine, but im programmer, its common people think that everything can be throw under a "detection routine", but this is a very performance complex issue.
  9. forum was never metrics for anything in any game, normally pvp related stuff always have more complaints = more posts;.
  10. if NA, go to Divinity Reach's. ppl here are cool, is the most used "chill place". but timezone can be tricky.
  11. im "veteran" i like toypocalipse too, for those inclined to "siege games" is too addictive.
  12. I will try to explain what the OP means. Rytlock is sticked to us since POF i guess, yeah give that guy some vacation. its seems the only episode he didnt apper its LS4 / ep2. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rytlock_Brimstone#Living_World_Season_4
  13. I have near 70% of core-tyria puzzles completed, with a warrior, some of them even by accident ou curiosity when exploring maps. I guess they have a "tier" to puzzles, the "core tyria" tier puzzles inst so hard.., them theres the "ubber hard" tier like the one on Ring of Fire.
  14. are NA or EU? if NA add me. the pv me when online. i have some damage spounge toons to use on this area when farm leather. im very bad with timezones, i didnt know whats 2:30 am would be to me.
  15. i farm Drizzlewood like crazy(probably reaching milestone of 100 completed metas), never see someone genuinely leeching... its a very long meta, i myself "pause" or play in a "chill mode", after 2 or 3 run(3hrs).
  16. > @"kharmin.7683" said: > > @"Shadowmoon.7986" said: > > Nothing can help PoF after the short term players left it. The maps were designed for the 1 spammer zombie masses. Once a better 1 spamming meta come out, the horde left it to never return. Compare these to octovine or chak garent, these events still get done because they are engaging well designed encounters, but at the same time it makes the zombies heads hurt because they have things like cc bars and mechanics, no class has a hard cc on 1, the zombies have no chance. > > Octovine and chak garent are done because they are much more rewarding, not because of the difference in mechanics. im fine if a mod merge topics.

I was about to run low level alts doing all but the hearts and hero points which required fighting without any issues. I've not seen any issues with the aggro range of mobs either. It's clearly a learn to play issue with some players wanting the map to be like Queensdale. Fighting mobs is a part of the game. Expecting to traverse across the maps as a pacifist is absurd. > > > > i do play very well thanks, thats why i take grypphon and fly over trying skipp map much as possible. bad map design with 1500+ aggro range and mobs overlapping every other all time inst a player issue, but bad design. > > Interesting, seeing how many players don't have this problem. I'd still say in many -maybe most- cases it's just positioning issue of the player. Sure, there are areas designed to be especially tight/crowded with mobs, but if someone claims it's the issue universally true for whole pof maps then based on my experience that's just false, which to me points at it not being "bad design", but rather a "playstyle/player issue". > > Also "taking griffon to skip everything" (while fun and definitely a viable/solid solution, don't get me wrong ;p) doesn't do anything to support the claim about someone being a good player with sufficient/high combat mechanics understanding, just saying. being a good player is being able to use the tools to avoid annoyances. the map are designed to use mounts, the problem is that once u are unlocky guy that are dismounted, u have to clear entire zone to get out of combat and mount again. they should rethink this... the mines zone entrance near quartz crystal in crystal oasis, is clear example of this. i know the "shortcuts" to skip combat there, but over-skill from my part just confirm bad design. to aggro overlap here is so huge, that i have memorized "hotspots" to use with griphon to avoid being hit. ... i wonder how the poor noobs perform here against the spam of veterans forged lolz.

  19. > @"Sobx.1758" said: > Yeah, no. Stop using "*hypothetical new player*" as a support for your feelings regarding the game. If it's not a problem for you, then it's not a problem for you. Meanwhile you say "it's not a problem for me, but it should be changed for new players!" -well, new players don't start in PoF and they have plenty of content on the way there to understand the game and improve on their gameplay. At that point they at least should slowly stop being "new". Today theres a person in Crystal Desert asking how transfer a exo amulet to another char, shes didnt know how to use the bank. > @"Sobx.1758" said: > Literally how can you know that? If you think that's unintended then create a thread reporting the bug in a bug report section of the forum. Same with the mobs near the vistas. But I doubt it's unintended. Also if you know that's what happens and that's an issue for you, then... kill the hydra before starting. Nope, i didnt need clear "all neighbour mobs" in any map(Core Tyria, Hot) except there. its clearly a design failure or even lazy work. > @"Sobx.1758" said:i doubt anyone love the perma-aggro in these maps. >If it was really the case that every vista was supposed to be a safe harbor then why do they have the attributes like: >-can't be interacted with while in-combat >-invulnerable while viewing the cinematic Vistas in game dont have theses atribbute because the pattern inst have 1500 range aggro mobs positioned near it. Try find one like this even on new maps like Drizzlewood Coast, its doesnt have.
  20. > @"Dawdler.8521" said: > I was doing achievements the other day including one within augery rock so I had to wait an hour or so for the event. Did some other random achievements on the map too. It was just a never ending stream of tags popping up for bounties and events, people talking in chat about what they wanted help with and people responding. When augery approached a blue tag popped up and we ended up being ~50 people there. > > Fun fact though: one of the events was that in the south (deadhouse whatever) and we absolutely roflstomped the boss with like half a dozen people. The tags comment was "kitten failed this with 30+". > > PvE is so tiresome. > Elon Riverlands is popular thesed days because Deadhouse "cross" various achievments(one is the Griffon collectionsi guess), and Augury Rock is the most cheese of POF metas beside Pinata. Also the Map Meta "alert" is map wide. The Vabbian map metas doesnt, if u are far away from forged with fire or serpents ire u wont see map "world boss" alert. The flow of events dont conflict much with each other, except rarely times deadhouse spam at same time with with augury rock.
  21. > @"Vayne.8563" said: > I don't understand this complaint. I'm in the Pof maps all the time. Most of the metas are done regularly, there's often bounties being done and even bounty trains. Maybe if you're having trouble meleeing and you through on a ranged weapon. > > People complained about HOT being hard, but much fewer people complain about Pof being hard. The only complaint I've seen about the PoF maps I agree with is things aggro from too far. Beyond that, I do believe this is a l2p issue. Or you could travel with a friend, because two manning any of that stuff is perfect. Only in POF maps they Put Choyas, pack scarabs near vistas. The fire hydra is clearly not inteended to fight togheter with the fire djinn(the HP boss), but due to huge aggro range it always join the fight, not mentioning the veteran sand shark. To me is easy content, i know every class on the game, but to new player is just a chaos, and probably 1 hit kill. I dont find even Tangled Depths messed up like that POF maps.
  22. > @"Sobx.1758" said: > You're claming that mobs being parked near the nodes or mobs spawning at the nodes when you approach is a "design fail" -no, it's not. They have a purpose and they fulfill that purpose. In POF maps is clearly a failure... im used to map completion, because is a aspect of game that i love it... its first thing i do on every new content... only in POF maps we have a pack of Scarabs(with a veteran) near a Vista;. im very aware that im a experienced player, so fight it to me is just annoyance rather than 'difficult'. Vistas in every other content beside POF are a normally a chill places. judging by their spawn distance, its seems theyre not intended to atack, but due to huge aggro range they find u.
  23. > @"Sobx.1758" said: > > @"BlueJin.4127" said: > > Kill one and before I mount, another enemy aggroes. Kill that one and before I mount, yet another enemy aggroes. Kill that one, and ANOTHER one aggroes. I just say screw it and run past, and they chase me for like an eternity while more enemies aggro. It's extra annoying when the enemies are all ranged and I can't ball them up together. > > That doesn't seem to constantly happen to me opposed to what some people say. Which areas are you talking about where you keep getting constant chain of aggroing mobs and *apparently* can't do anything about it? literally all POF maps, im doing elite specs weapons, so im doing map exploration of Crystal Oasis, last time i completed it with a **dead eye**, its clearly that mobs have aggro range equal or greater than rifle range. if i wasnst skilled with mounts(completed skycale recently) and routes(i completed it with 6 professions, need 3 to finish) i wonder if it will take 3hrs++ per character if was a new player.
  24. POF Serpents Ire is a recurrent problem, Anet should look at this. i guess most maps are fine, but POF ones are very problematic, specially Serpents Ire. I know how to lead event, i try even group people 30 mins before without sucess.
