  1. Now that ANET nerfed everything but mesmer, the class is even more braindead because of low damage income.

That's why patches should be announced first and discussed.

Please make that attacking while dodging remove the evade effect ( incrase ofc ambush duration by 1 sec. Give them a choice. )

It's currently the only class which can attack while invul every 5 sec ( permavigor because f1-f4, heal and crit )

That was a pure example ( i just took the current duration and add a second charge while mantaining the base cd ), and because of that you probably think that it is better.

Try for an instance to imagine that the recharge cd would be 60 instead of 30, but with 2 charges, then everything could be more fair or even underpower, because you should decide to die instead of wasting a long cd, like on a moba.

That said, passive traits are definitely the cancer of every game, because they proc randomly regardless what a player could think.

    * Critical strike.

    * Passive procs on crit ( the old weapon sigils and part of rune armor bonus set ).

    * Passive defenses ( maybe activated after a burst not by your choice, but still saving your like because reasons ).

At last, if giving players total control of everything will make it better at first, then we simply have to modify it until it become more balanced.

But if the starting point is that everything happens because the player decides so, we would be at a good point to begin with.

    > hi all, i bought this game in 2013 and then didn't really play. left to wow as ive been playing that since 2005 and it became an addiction, well **i am sick of wow**. i am **mainly interested in pvp**. in wow **i play a geared**, decently ranked affliction warlock. i am looking for **something similar that isn't too difficult for new players**. can anyone give me some advice? thank you

Probably Scourge of Condition Mirage will provvide you the best choice.

If you don't own any expansion you don't have a real possibility, because once in spvp meta classe will definitely own you if you dare to play a condi build class warlock style.

That said, if you explain the reasons you are sick of wow ( and given the fact you are mainly intereseted in pvp ) I could tell you if a try is worth or not ( check SPvP forum just to have an overall idea of the SPvP situation ).

    >

    > Mental Anguish is a passive trait that increases your shatter damage. This damage is doubled against targets that are not moving. This is a passive, but it's an excellently designed trait because it shapes playstyle. Now, your entire playstyle has been shaped towards trying to combo shatters while the opponent is stunned. You talk talk about Shatter mesmers having too much power right now, but the way this passive trait is designed is really cool.

That's what i meant with my post ( and i guess him too ).

    By saying

    > Give instead different bonuses and change active skills from 1 every 30 sec to 2 every 30 sec.

I meant, for an instance, to remove "Defy Pain" and give warrior 2 charges of "Endure Pain".

I think that many players would be pleased to try it out even with those problems ( and before of their partecipation, you could be able to gather data since now ).

So, what about enabling the new game mode since now but also put a "disclaimer" in the dedicated menù?

    What i mean is:

    > This is a new game mode and because it's still on alpha/beta there could be hours of waiting, bugs, and so on.

    > Try it if you want knowing that everyting from long queues to unexpected events could happen

    > We woul also appreciate feedbacks about the game mode ( and also any report which could concern bugs or malfunctions

    How about anything like this?

    > I'd welcome more discussion though.

What about instead of reducing defenses just lowering their cd ( and duration ) in order to give players the duty to use them in a proper way?

Given the warrior for an instance, what about removing the passive endure pain and instead giving them a 2x charge on endure pain?

  7. Clones + stealth are a indeed a pain, also because this game lacks a last target mechanic, which makes stealth working even better than the 2/3 sec disorienting it is meant for.

But imho, and I am refering not only to mesmer class but every class, the main problem comes from the possibility to deal dmg while invul.

And here ofc mesmer is king.

Skills like shield stance and renewed focus are balanced, because don't allow you to attack, except some instant skills maybe.

Elixir s and mist form work the same way, but it allows you to terminate enemies while invulnerable, and this could be fixed by making skills like the previous 2.

    Dodge too.

If you dodge, you only dodge avoiding attack.

That's why a class with a F4 which allows you to deal dmg while invul, and a tons of dodge because of Vigor of heal, f1-F4 skills and eventually ok crit, it's allowed to create problems.

    > >

    > "Let's eliminate the class mechanic. That's a smart change."

    >

If it's broken the first you admit and fix it the better. White knightism brings to nowhere.

Eh it's broken but it's what differences mesmers from other classes...

...oh Well then it's ok then.

    I guess.

And I also remember than mesmers were able to win without casting during dodge.

  9. Mirage problems are imho 2.

    1. Mirage cloak, which allow not only to attacco while dodging, but also to use an enhanched version of the attacco itself. Solution, remove it. No class should be able to attack while dodging. Let him use the ambush for 1 sec after the dodge has expired.

    2. Elusive mind. Solution, Remove stunbreak effect at all. 1 condi removed per dodge ( even if you don't dodge any attack is definitely good as tier 3. Thief tier 2 requires you to dodge an attack in order to proc ). Eventually entirely rework the trait.

    Mesmer fixed.

    > If following this guide and use durability and sigil rune, marauder armor will work fine, ill start with that

If you want to play PvE, go with marauder equipment, and also change the first trait in the scrapper line ( trade barrier for hammer damage and stability on evade ).

As for sigils, Signet of Fire ( you will deal very low dmg even if with marauder/zerk if compared to other classes ) and air ( or blood if you prefer a little sustain instead of a better dps ).

As for runes, Rune of the Pack are a good set, but also scholar if you can manage to get your health high ( they are definitely the best choice if you manage to learn how to play the class ).

    Since we now have chairs...

    ...what about a chair finisher?

I don't know, like a phantom carpenter finishing to craft a chair ( maybe at high speed in various animations like under the effect of superspeed/haste ), and then crushing the enemy with it ( and then maybe a loudy cry from the crowd, which could be gw2 community ).
