Again neither is wrong in these approaches, however we know that some approaches are more successful to enjoying the game. What I mean are the people who say you need to get better at the game and don't understand that most people here aren't concerned with difficulty levels. And I see it like this. People who like to drag a thousand mobs behind them and then kill them with so called "skill". Can still do that even if the range is adjusted a bit. But people who don't like that will just avoid these maps and maybe even the whole game. And even if here in the forum the perceived majority are the hardcore players who would prefer a Dark Souls, I strongly argue that the majority who play GW2 are the casuals. And from my personal experience I can say that the POF maps are already much emptier than Core or HOT. That's not really going to change in the meantime. No matter how much would be adjusted. But for people like me who like the maps for their aesthetics and for people new to the game a change would be beneficial. And as I said, it wouldn't diminish your gaming experience. **Since this thread hasn't been about difficulty for a long time, it's about range. If the range was adjusted, you could even make the mobs harder for those who want it, because you could bypass them easier.**
  2. And here we go again. More XY pages where everyone will discuss in a circle.

Are there any mobs/enemy types that you feel are specifically overtuned? > 3. Would you describe yourself as a new, intermediate or veteran player? I am an Veteran at GW2. But started a few months ago new, because GW2 no longer made fun for me. So I can speak from a perspective where I can say that I am a semi-good player who has cleared raids every week a good 2 years ago. DMG numbers were never a problem for me, not only on the Golem, but also in the raid itself where I always 'fought' for first place with two friends. I had no problems clearing the most HP's both in HOT and in POF solo, both with my Ele and even less with my Mesmer. And that despite a bad build and bad equipment as a 'new player'. But I took my time for the first masteries and still don't have all the masteries that make these areas more pleasant in terms of dodging. Until a while ago I didn't even have the normal dodge skill of the Jackal on all my mounts. And I think that's the sticking point. Even when I was careful, I was constantly getting pulled off the mount. I personally can't name any special zones, because I'm not so much into the story and everything in GW2. In the beginning it was all the initial POF maps. There was no corner where I did not have to watch out when I just wanted to look at the maps. And bad are all the mobs that attack at range, as I said in my first post here. There are heaps of mobs that attack you from far away, where you have zero chance to attack back because you don't reach them yet. And I don't find any of the MObs hard per se. But when you have a few of them sticking to your ass, it's annoying(as i already said). Especially if you just want to enjoy GW2 like everyone always told you before POF existed. **As many here in the thread have therefore already said. And what was long before ignored until the last two pages. A change in the aggro range would be very beneficial.**

There's a lot of value to being able to just look around and take in the map environments, and that's getting increasingly less worth it to try. Taking every zone in the game back to the introductory/tutorial grade is far from logical or desired by probably most people that play any game at all. > > If you want *walking simulator*, then play *walking simulator* instead of something that is/wants to be *action mmorpg*. If you want a super hardcore hack'n'slay with endless hordes of enemies, play DMC. In case you don't realize it, that's sarcasm for your constantly exaggerated responses like "if you want a walking simulator".

Thats not annoying. Does PoF have heavier emphasis on AoE? Probably. But its so simple to AoE. Most of the time I find myself having to pull multiple groups at once because those groups die too fast so it become boring. Pretty much have the same issues in the new DRMs, way too small groups that one player can take out in seconds (the only exception I've found is those massive damage fire AoE attacks in the fields) I don't have much time for GW2. The reason I played it in the first place is because everyone advertises that GW2 is casual and work friendly. I don't want to spend my time slaughtering through hordes of mobs, easy or hard. There are plenty of games where you can do that. That's why I liked Core Gw2 and HOT. You can just ignore the mobs. While in POF you should get rid of them if you want to do screens or something else because of the range. I am someone who likes hard content. I've been through enough singleplayer games on hardcore and played very long raids, T4 and CM. But GW2 OW is not advertised as a hardcore experience (by fans and partners and anet itself) I played GW2 to relax and pointlessly waste my time with Achievments and Shiny-Hunting. But since POF GW2 has become a hack'n'slash game where 'meachnik' means hordes of enemies that can see and shoot at you over miles, while your ranges don't even reach over your own feet ...

  7. > @"Mesket.5728" said: > Your character looks great,.. for a single player. This is why I stopped "investing" effort on this game. For me, I lost it when every single character started looking flashy and overloaded with particles. Just plain ugly to enter the city and completely destroyed the immersion. GW2 rapidly went to look like every other cheap mmo. And it is understandable. It is so much cheaper for the art team to just put glow and flashy materials rather than actually work to make things look like leather, metal and cloth. Yup, most just want shiny shiny shiny unfortunately. 9/10 people run around in GW2 like TE. Everything that sparkles slapped on a character and done. That's why we need more customization in the settings what we want to see and what not. Not only effects of attacks, but also currently the characters~. I want a setting that I can still see the people in my group, but can hide such unpleasant shiny bombs please.
  8. Strange. When I started new months ago and went directly to HOT with my little Exo-stuff I had zero problems there. Could with my Mesmer (which had a super random build and thrown together EXO gear without runes or jewelry) even make many HP's solo and the one where I had problems, eg the frogs or the vampire bat people came every time to help when i asked. POF has annoying mobs at every turn that are not hard, but just so annoying. If you run around there with others and you are not the first, you have a lot of stuff on your ass and you have to see where you stay. HOT I can just Braindead hop through the Pampa, while in POF literally mines lie on the ground. You can scream l2p as much as you want, POF maps are just boring and annoying as hell. And above all just as empty ...
  9. > @"Chyanne Waters.8719" said: > People in this suggestion are not seeing the bigger picture. I do play this game , and want to continue. To me mastery points are no different than tomes of knowledge which without wvw I have in my bank over 1000 of them. I play the game for the story and exploring areas, not to search for achievements. If I do an achievement playing how I play that's fine I put 13, 500 hours over 3,018 days. so I do play this game. I also have all characters at different stages of the game and LS with each having all elite specs. I ended up having a stroke about a year or so back which made my left side weak and partially useless. So I play with my right hand mostly while adding a bit with my right. I wat to bring my other characters through the LS and expansions over time as I play, but doing the achievements to get them slows the process down. I don't know how social you are in the game or if you have people around you who play it. But for example, I arranged it for the Griffon race so that my boyfriend at the time made the ones for me on my account. Or i have done a lot of jumpingpuzzles and other more difficult achievements for a really good friend I met through GW2. Of course, if you don't have anybody you can trust so far, it's going to be hard xx.
  10. > @"Chyanne Waters.8719" said: > Quite a few people say because I want mastery points in the gem store that takes away from game play. Well to some that may be true, but to me it doesn't. I played Guildwars since 2005 in which I ended up o my sin 35 maxed titles (that's 5 titles over god walking amongst mere mortals title), Got GWAMM on my Rit, and Mesmer too. > In the Hall of Monuments I have four fully maxed out halls for four different characters. So in that game I did the extra stuff and enjoyed doing it while playing. > GW2 on the other hand does not have that system it has achievements which I am not interested in maxing out like titles in GW. If I get them I get them. The mastery points in the story are the same I do not want to go out of my way to get them while trying to get through the story to complete it. > We should not have to play the way we don't want too to max our masteries, and not be able compete all the mastery lines in the game. So putting the points in the gem store is not pay to win, but a quality of life thing. You still have to get the exp. to use them. It will not break the game at all. I wish people would read this. How many times has this been said in this thread? And people still come along, just play something else, its not the right game for you, ect. I'm surprised that people here still try to make suggestions. I mean look at the thread with the suggestion of a two-seater, which would be super practical and which is absolutely nothing new in MMO's. And even there, most people just make fun of it or say no, because anet ... sorry, I'm not allowed to write more about this without getting banned. Good luck to convince anyone here.

This game is far and wide the cheapest MMORPG. > > If someone if having issues in acquiring content for this game, both expansions or living world (which can ba acquired via gem-gold conversion), they need to reevaulate if playing a game over other commitments is a good idea. This reminds me of something I read somewhere else. That a certain big authority wants to tell others what to do. Related to another topic. And that that would be bad. We have the same thing here, but with players who want to tell others how to play the game. I personally became a huge fan of the power and speed boosters when I started GW2 again. Because lvln in this game teaches you almost nothing. I myself and I know a lot of other people who do the same - but I don't speak for all (you have to point this out these days)- they didn't really get to know their classes until after lvl80 and I were really thankful that these rolls existid so that I could boost other characters 80 as well. So I personally never saw a problem when people later used these lvl 80 boosters for 2k(it's there money, not mine). That some couldn't handle it in the end is not the problem of the boosters. And mastery point farming is not content for me. When I started out, it even stopped me from playing because I got so frustrated that my exp-bars were full but I missed points that were hidden behind annoying achievements (or points you only get when you have another mastery). Which by the way was the first point for me on my old account where I started not to like the game anymore and took a break. But at this time it was even easier because I had a connection and didn't have to catch up so much. But just try to move away from your point of view and look at someone new. If I didn't have my guild, I would have quit after the first mastery for the Raptor. Because GW2 is just a grind festival now. Sure, it has always been grind, but it's getting more and more. Content in GW2 consists 99% of Achievments now. So I can absolutely understand if there are people who want to skipp things to do other things that are more fun for THEM personally. If you don't like that, you don't have to buy the stuff. And it is still far from P2W. On the contrary, it would be more attractive for people who have less time and prefer to spend it on things they enjoy more. Because there are many masterys that you need 100% and others that you need because everybody else has them and otherwise you'll quickly fall behind. (I know that everyone here is an individual and not driven by peer pressure, but let's just for once assume that gw2 is an MMO where you have to play with others.) This is my stand on the subject. I won't write anything more about it, because I know that discussions here go round and round. Besides, I have nothing more to say and I don't want to convince anybody. Who wants to exaggerate, does that anyway. And I doubt that Anet will introduce something like that anyway, it is something very special, because one point is often not enough. And how do you want to price something like that without making it as overpriced as the build templates. Whereby they are also bought although there was a free equivalent which was much be-

Some will say this game has already lost credibility but this is different. Pay to win is a stigma that you can't easily escape. It follows you. And what exactly do you gain if you can buy MP? P2W means that you can buy advantages over other players. For example if I could buy strength boosters in PVP or WVW for real money which makes me significantly stronger than other real players. Everybody says here that this is worse than LVL and strength boosters, but nobody says why. What gives you a mastery what is so OP compared to others who don't have it? If a mastery is OP, it has in my opinion little lost in GW2 because some have access to it and others don't(because they don't have the episode and have to BUY it first).
  13. Some of you pretend Masterys are so OP and would ruin the whole game if you could buy them. It's not like you can buy PVE- and LVL-Booster and also Map-unlocks were a thing once. Not that I am for making them for sale, but you can overdo it with the insulting of the TE because of a simple suggestion ...
  14. These items are there in the TP since I started playing GW2 4 or 5 years ago.So either somebody has a lot of money left over and puts them into the TP over and over again with the fee-loss, or they were simply forgotten by old accounts or something.

The only problem I had with T1 when I started a month ago was a bit of toxity. Many groups I had, some of them were going blind into fractals and had no idea of anything. Which I don't mind, but some became quite salty to group members who gave them instructions that they didn't understand. But like everywhere else you can easily ignore that. My LFG's have always filled very quickly. The only thing I noticed is that at least in T1 and T2 there are rarely reset groups. So if you play at unusual times, you might feel the LFG to be dead.
  16. > @"Van.5796" said: > The LFG system in GW is shocking. Instead of requesting to join a group, you join instantly then kicked if not wanted/needed. Why does it work this way? World of Warcraft has a queue you can join and once a group is available the instance will load. GW really need to adopt such a system as this allows players to experience instances as they level. Not everyone is in a guild or has enough members to run one. So let's get a better system up and running for all to get access to the instances. Please just try to learn to read the LFG. Or Join groups that have no requirements. The system in GW2 is good. So everybody can decide with whom he wants to play, which is especially important for higher content. In case of doubt you can also just open your own group, without any conditions. No guild or other necessary things needed :).
  17. A friend of mine made the Legy just because it is so unimpressive. I think she would be quite unhappy if Anet would change something ^^''. There are so many Legys that are super shiny, or a bit more shiny. So there is something for everyone. I don't see any reason to change that.
  18. As much as I would love this, Anet would never do that because they would sell less keys. And we all know how much game companies love their gambling-machines.
  19. I would be very interested to see who has something here in the thread from which they could profit with a cap adjustment. 10k are already a crazy Amount of Money. If the droprate would be adjusted so that items that fall above this price would be sold below this price again, everyone would still make an insane profit. And probably even more, because much more can be sold. It's positive for the whole community. Instead of just a few people if the cap would be raised. So, still team, increase the drop rate.
  20. > @"kharmin.7683" said: > Which, again, would deter people from logging in to the game. And what would be the problem? If you have PC problems or are away, you can't log in anyway. The only thing that does is that Anet makes less sales. And why would an online store generally make people log in less? Wouldn't most people rather log in because it's useless to buy things and then not use them in the game?

But it all brings money ... --- I hope for those who bought it that they wrote to the support after the change and kept bugging them until they got a refund. It happened to me once with an item that had a wrong description in German, for a week. I complained about it and in the end I was even allowed to keep the item + Gems back. Of course I don't know how it looks like when you have something for a very long time. But just the fact that people were annoying anet would be enough.
