  3. I would like to have more revealing clothes for men, from age 16+ like all the women's clothes that partly show more than you would expect for a game for 12+. But I somehow think it's more likely that women will get super skimpy bikinis than anything halfway revealing and good looking for men ... And another thing I read here that I'm absolutely for, dresses for asura(and charr). I never understood why I can't put a skirt on my little fox asura. Maybe she likes to be more feminine in the sense of skirts and such, and at the same time interested in technology and fighting?
  4. If there were something like that, I would actually start buying nodes and all that stuff.

For the most part you can't upgrade them, they have a lot of heating issues, they don't last as long, and generally aren't worth what you pay for them. Build your own desktop, its what I did last year after my last gaming laptop died. Its surprisingly easy to do, I mean, if I could pull it off anyone else could too. I did not recommend anything. Only shared my experience. And even if laptops are not the best, many still prefer a laptop. For example, I have a friend who has a gaming laptop instead of a pc because of space issues. That this is more expensive and not as durable as a PC is no question.
  7. My gaming PC is now 6 years old. When I put it together back then, it cost me about 700€ because I needed everything, including the monitor. The only thing I have changed in the last 6 years was the graphics card and I have added Ram (for GW2) and a second monitor. And I can play latest games on Ultra with it without any problems. I was interested in the Ipad Pro for a long time because I draw a lot and love BJ, Youtube got me hooked. Do you know how much that would have cost? Exactly over 1k I ended up getting a Samsung Tab for half that and still don't regret it. What I'm trying to say. I doubt THIS will be the end of GW2. I wouldn't say I lost interest after 18 months at all. I would've loved to keep playing everyday but i enlisted so, life happens, oh well,. The thing is, for new or returning players, nowhere does it say that after paying $30-$80 for the expansions you're still unable to play many parts of the story. As a matter of fact it says Icebrood Saga is included, which as you just stated is clearly not the case, it just gives you access. Anyways, it's a real bummer for me especially since i'm one of those people who is really into the story and achievements. Lastly, i'm not sure if this is true, but a guildmate said that the least amount of money ArenaNet made in a year was a tad under $50 million usd, it would just be nice to let their customers know that even after buying the expansions you still arent able to access 2 dozen episodes. Merry Christmas :) > > > > > > Very few people are unaware of how the episode acquisition works. They (anet)have been very straight foward. Also , this has been discussed here more than once as the search feature will show. And the games wiki also helps. I can understand the frustration of a new player joining the game for the 1st time, but that is the way always has been for the episodes. > > > > Only people who have obtained an expansions and most of the seasons are aware of how episode acquisition works. But, it is not those people who need to be informed about how to buy the expansions now. > > Nearly all of the people now buying the expansions will be new players who are unaware of how the seasons have been given out. For new players the messaging is quite poor on what they get and what content they need to obtain with gems. > > I thought it was pretty clear on the Living story info page https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049722974-Living-World-Episode-Unlocks which says > "There are two methods for unlocking episodes: acquiring it for free during its release window, or purchasing it at a later date. and > > If a user misses the window for acquiring an episode for free, these episodes can also be purchased for 200 Gems. > To purchase an episode, simply navigate to the Story Journal in your Hero Panel. Any episodes which have not been unlocked yet will be marked with a "lock" icon, as well as a "Buy Now" button which can be clicked to spend Gems to unlock the episode. and > > Please note that purchasing an expansion does not automatically unlock the Living World episodes within its associated season(s). Users will still need to purchase these episodes if they did not login during the original release windows. Expansions simply grant the ability to play associated episodes which have already been unlocked, and will allow users to immediately start playing new episodes as they are released." And what is the probability that a new player who does not know the model of GW2 will find it? When I google GW2 costs, in my language comes to 99% only pages that explain the FTP part, but not that the supposedly fine print to the LW in the expansions is also an extra cost point. While I know with most other MMO's, page 1 of Google usually clarifies all cost points because the games have summarized everything the same. It would be absolutely not difficult for Anet to hang an * on "Living World: The Icebrood Saga" in the expansion purchase. Instead, they decided that you have to go over the text, which I personally would see absolutely no reason for. At least I don't remember ever going over it the two times I bought the Ultimate version. When Linken mentioned that, that was the first time I noticed that. And as I wrote, I find it very strange to hide the fine print even more. Does Anet really need that?

They are talking about the lack of hype and how the living world doesn't pull players in, although the quality is there, even gives an example of a high quality "quest" in Jahai Bluffs. And I agree finishing the Elegy armor collection was a good experience. They aren't saying that the living world is terrible... but I guess the word "flop" in the title can lead players to think otherwise, especially those who don't bother to read the actual posts. > > There are many high quality collections (GW2 version of "quests" from other RPGs) that have well written dialogue and some interesting developments. Also some meta events (before you repeat them a thousand times) have interesting storylines and ideas. Episodes can be hit or miss in that regard. As for the "Hype" part, I think they overhyped the game in the past, especially pre-HOT, and are now very cautious about it. Which leads to the other end, lack of hype. We only get a trailer 1 week before the release of an episode and that's it. TE has not commented since his first post and in the course of the discussion a new theme emerged. Not the first and not the last time that something like this will happen. Especially because the topics are not so far from one another.
  10. Why don't you just run the fractals you can? If you don't want to pay anything for your equipment, you will quickly run into a wall as far as fractals are involved. Also, don't take offense, but judging by your posts on fractals, low agony isn't the only reason people will kick you ^^''. I agree with Kid, better find a guild or a static that doesn't care what you do in fractals.
  11. > @"Solvar.7953" said: > The problem is probably more that if there is no content for 3 months, you will get people saying the game is dead, Anet has abandoned it, etc. So even if the result is that after 4 months, there is a bigger/better release, Anet is fighting that perception for 3 months that nothing is going on. > Releasing content, even poor content, perhaps gives some people solace that Anet is still working on the game. > Yeah sure, now it wouldn't work either way. Also this whole, free LW if you log in a certain period of time.... And I'm not talking about subscriptions. I think it would have made a lot of difference if they had just produced the stuff longer and bigger and then charged a sum for it. But the train has left the station and we will never know how successful, or not successful, they would have been. Unfortunately. People always like to forget that such things take time. Large paintings are not painted in a few days. But nowadays everything has to be produced yesterday with super much content.
  12. > @"Zaraki.5784" said: > Because 3 months of nothing from a release to another is devasting for a game. > And no, 8 years-old festivals don't count as _something_ in-between. I wonder if that is really the case. Am I really the exception who thinks that it is not bad if there is no new content even after 3 months? Especially if it is content that you have in a few hours through and then only the achievment grind comes anyway? I would have nothing against it if Anet would take more time and would bring really good content. For me personally, everything that came after POF is a pure flop and before it has already indicated because POF were just mob hordes over mob hordes in my eyes. Personally, I'm good at finding my own occupations, if there are good ones. And I can keep myself busy with things for a very long time. But these last constant 3-month-updates never kept me in the game for long. In the meantime I'm even no longer one of those who are logging in on day 1 .... 2 ... 15 after a new update came. Wonder what they could create if they would not let themselves be so pressured by the community.

They were farmed as endgame content when there was no end game content. Core original content (including dungeons) were designed with out the trinity meaning stack and pull could race through all content as said previously. > > Factals have evolved and changed and balances as end game 5 man content. There you can find use for heals, or build groups that focus DPS with a bit of support. PUGs are always looking for heals. > > Raids/Strikes use heals. WvW also makes use of groups of DPS/Support if you find that mode entertaining (helps to have a guild that knows how it works and does well.) > > After 8 years of playing GW2, I can't say it would be worth starting at this point. It only matters if you can get to the content you enjoy and find people you enjoy running with. Most of the different communities can be very toxic/elitist, but there are some nice people out there. For a newbie, dungeons are endcontent, even story mode. I would like to see a newbie who runs Story Mode Ascalon with the little bit of equipment he gets up to lvl 35. That might work if he has 4 people who are lvl 80 with halfway good equipment but definitely not with 5 lvl35 characters with green or yellow equipment, without jewelry, without backs and who have no idea about the game. Then exactly that comes out. He has the feeling to make no DMG. Even on lvl 80, without proper knowledge and equipment is exactly this outcome. And often you feel even more stupid as a beginner, because the dungeons are unlocked at low lvl, which I personally find wrong. But that's just my opinion.
  15. > @"levelmakerguru.7210" said: > Why is it, the things you need for Guild hall progress is the MOST difficult lt thing to get, we need 150 shovels and farming them is such a GRIND, just like the gift of battle. If you make something unattainable then they will just give up and not worry about it, and after all you want people to play this game right!, make them a scribe item level 400+ or something like that, if you want people to farm them then give them one per event, then people would be in silverwastes all the time. If not then continue continue to be the heartless people that everyone is say in chat. Should you still need help write me on the WE. Then I'll show you how you can farm quite a few shovels in a short time via RIBA.
  16. I am not someone who plays for efficiency. I play to have fun and that is often inefficient for me as long as I can please others or myself. If I had the shovels I would give them to him immediately. But as I said, I have already given away all the ones I still had. And since I think that I'm not the only person in the game who thinks like me, I gave this advice. Isn't that the great thing about different opinions. You can approach things differently ^^.
  17. As I wrote I have given away far more shovels for free and have seen others do the same. Therefore, I advised him not to buy shovels. Of course he can still do that if there is absolutely no other way for him. That was just my advice about it, just like you gave yours. If you don't like it, that's not my problem ^^.
  18. Let's talk a little bit about "creating your own group". If you are completely new and open your own group with the things "Learning, New", ect. how many people come into this group who know what you have to do? So, really know what you have to do and can explain it? In such groups then usually even in team chat, without announcements with discord or TS. Because the least people really learn the bosses via Youtube. Sure, you can watch videos about it, but it's not even close to the same when you stand in front of the boss. As someone who has been actively raiding since HOT, I can say from personal experience that training raid guilds have brought me (ME) nothing. At least in which I was, were chaotic and you rarely got places in the groups where you could really learn something. Mostly you were as a newcomer in the ... new groups, where there was usually one person who knew everything and the rest has mostly only taken semi-seriously. And I doubt that most here like to raid for weeks, months in groups without any success. I personally have been through this where the DPS meter didn't exist yet and every group consisted almost only of Ele's and then the blame was shifted to me and a friend since we both played Rev's. Only to see at the end, when the first DPS meter appeared, ohh we Rev's have made the most DMG ... You only learn something up to a certain point before it just becomes frustrating and fun-stealing. I was lucky that my guild finally wanted to raid and I have thereby met a few people with whom I could really learn and with whom I ran weekly raids, very successfully. And I think that's what matters. You have to get to know the right people with whom you get along well. Otherwise, no matter how much you learn, raiding will never be fun. But to meet the right people you often need luck. I met them because experienced raiders joined our learning group and I caught their eye. BUT they didn't notice me because of my dmg (I was a healer at the time), but because of my TS apperance. Which is why the leader wrote to me after some time when they formed a new group to bring more people in their guild to raid. (and I will not lie, I think also because I was female and in the end then still often stood at the top of the DPS numbers) Of course this is only my case and of course you have to show a bit of effort. I think if you already have problems to craft ASC gear for raiding, you will also have problems if you have a good group because raiding requires that you learn. Not only Rotas. The rotas and dmg are the easiest part of raiding. But I personally think, today even more so. That it also needs a lot of luck and an open personality to be able to raid successfully. And of course the will to become better. **This is just my opinion from my experience. Of course, everyone has different experiences and I just wanted to share mine. Since I think that the topic of Luck, is often gladly underestimated although it applies to many.**
  19. Do not buy shovels. Just do what many here have suggested. Farming shovels is super easy and goes super fast. When I still had heaps, I even gave away 100+ of shovels to some forum questioners and I think there are still people who just give away their stuff for guilds.
  20. I really don't understand why there are no collections where you can get these skins. Same with the Worm-ones. I mean, most people I know want them anyway just because they want everything complete. But I see almost no one running around with them. Where I wonder if that's because they drop so rarely and then maybe just to those who do not like the skins (have e.g. some worm drops, but I find them absolutely ugly) or the skins are generally more on the unpopular rail? Either way, I don't understand why you make skins that aren't tradable anyway so extremely rare. Especially because they aren't even that special. Teq are just the same Asc weapons with a green shimmer. And for the worm you just get some armor parts that are just like asc stuff but smeared with green vomit from the worm. I would like to have the opportunity to trade rare drops with an IG-dealer or something. Have the worm only made a few times for the achievements and had the "luck" to get 2 chests with shoulders and bracers. But would exchange both immediately for invisible shoes. Where I did the meta every day for a whole year and then did the mushrooms and not a single good drop....

Idk if I've got this all wrong so I'd appreciate any help given or to see if you guys think its just worth playing another mmo so I can do healing To this be said. Dungeons are end content. Even if you get access to them very early. Which, to this day, I don't really understand either. So your feeling there is completely justified. But I wouldn't base your final decision on that. Where I'm not sure, though, is whether you'll find that much satisfaction in a healer here. These are very rarely in demand. And unless you're playing in a group/guild that is super bad at dodging and such, you won't get much feedback. In a guild you will always be accepted, no matter what you play. But away from raids, strikes and possibly fractals, there is little to nothing for healers to do. But DMG can also be a lot of fun. So try it out and decide for yourself ^^.
  22. But these buggs exist since gw2 exists and I doubt that they can be fixed so easily in the meantime. Therefore a clear no from me. If I am punished because my game buggt and I would then have to deal with the suport I would uninstall the game immediately.
  23. But how often does something like this have to happen before something happens? Is that then handled just like here in the forum where that is super buggy? I had e.g. once a phase with my thief where I have made Caudecus with friends and have constantly buggt me into walls. How often should I make this mistake before I get banned? I understand the thought behind it. But to drag bugs into punishments, I feel is wrong.
  24. Because all these things are so easy to implement ^^''. If ever something like this should be introduced (which I doubt) they would have to have so many things in mind. For example, they would have to give insight into the armor and builds of the players, so that you can decide before joining the group if you want to play with them. Then they would have to build in something that detects when a group fails over and over again, who is to blame. ect. ect. And no, if I am not allowed to leave the group without punishment, I will not rely on the player. I have experienced it often enough that what was advertised was not fulfilled in the end. Isn't the current system much simpler? As if it takes so long to find new people, especially for the groups that don't care about the above. And no this has nothing to do with elitist behavior, but simply with the fact that I don't want to be punished when people have a bad day or are generally too bad and just want to be pulled through fractals. When I run fractals with pugs, I want a fast, uncomplicated run. Everything else has place in guilds or static groups in my eyes (or own formed group in lfg).

Don't let others drag you down. Especially if you're newer, you can have so much fun in GW2 and if you don't mind grind and MMO features in general, you can spend a hell of a lot of time with this game. Have fun and look for people with whom you can have even more fun in the game :).
