Oh, it counts alright. You're ex-Sunspears, and that was an exclusively human thing. Plus, after Joko revives you, you dont even look zombieish. Unless that's what comes later.

  2. Elementalist - A Tempest elite signet with a passive that gives you stacking bonuses in combat for as long as you stay in the same attunement. (Ends on attunement swap) Active will give a temporary ability to... weapon swap.

Necromancer - A skill that summons Jagged Horrors per nearby enemy, max 10, without any catch/ timer. Elite skill.

Mesmer - Doppelganger elite that will become a phantasmal copy of your target with all skills but 50% effectiveness.

Thief - Off-hand sword with power and burning damage, and some neat acrobatic 3 skill. Some kind of fiery blade dancer. Elite spec of course.

Ranger - Broad Head Arrow, and the old Daze. Actually, I don't know. Ranger bores me.

Engineer - Shrink Gun elite kit. Stepping on enemies instantly defeats them, i.e. Duke Nukem. Also shrinks incoming projectiles (blocks) and wounds (grant 90% condition duration reduction, incoming).

Warrior - Disarm. Physical elite. A simple interrupt that, if it hits, disables all weapon skills for *x* seconds but not utilities or F1-F5 skills.

Core-only F2 Wounding Strike. Grants "deep wound" which intensifies condi damage by you alone on struck target by 33%.

Guardian - ... Don't they already have everything?

Revenant - A fourth skill in every legend. Also, access to racial skills, just because.

    > Honestly, they need to reduce to ICD to half a second, that would actually put it in line with Steadfast Rejuvenation which would make Devastation more attractive to use. Having to hit sides or flanks makes the trait trivial, especially when it takes a full 1 second of wait to pull it off while Steadfast is guaranteed healing by just existing.

I'd love it if the ability didn't have a flanking requirement. :(

The unfortunate part is that if your level is too low, there is no downed state.

  5. Posted this elsewhere, but it is more befitting here:

Warrior's Cunning looks dangerous. I'm already feeling like damage modifiers on most classes should be reeled back in a bit, but +50% damage?

Why not just instead have blows ignore barrier for its duration, like how WC in Guild Wars 1 was a skill that made you unblockable? Or have Wild Blow blast off all barrier before applying its actual damage?

+20% damage feels a bit more reasonable. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

  6. That multileveled, slummy, rundown city was, at the time, the most unique environment I had ever seen in a fantasy MMO. I wanted and still want to see Kaineng City 2.0. Sure it's nostalgia talking, but every game has a forest region, snow region, desert, etc. Not only was it way different, but you could actually feel the places popularity issues and poverty issues.

Good knowing that there's someone out there who knows what I was referring to. :)

    > Probably, but it is a cheap device to explain to the player that he's drunk. A "I think I am going to be sick" would have sufficed. Vomitting, farting etc is just distasteful, in movies, games and everywhere. It's not funny. It equals toilet humor.

That's fine. To each his own and what not. Again, all I was saying is that the inclusion of such things do not automatically or necessarily point to bad writing.

Braham's immature; I expect him to mostly do immature things.

Anything beyond that, y'all have fun discussin', nah, ya hear? :)

Yep. It's one of my favorite thief builds at the moment. Wouldn't mind a little bit more damage though, or at least the Apostate attribute spread being released one day.

But, yeah. A complete list of what the rune works with would be lovely.

    > Use assassins reward. Use SOM. Spec daredevil with its heal. You get a barrier of 1000+ thats on forever. Throw in Caltrops and with other damage utilities (along with your impaling lotus) and that 1000+ buffer to health that always there is mixed in with ongoing heals of 1500+ on a DB. You shrug of conditions and are very resilient to damage.[

As I've been build testing lately, I went with something similar. In my experience, I found the barrier only all that good for being at max health, so your first bit of incoming damage doesn't drop you too far. But after that, if you take more than one hit, you're playing catch up to get your health back up the entire time. Because of that, I found it mostly beneficial for fights with a lot of incoming pressure, while for longer, slower ones (most champion solos), healing yourself for more is better since you will likely just be dodging everything anyway making barrier of lesser use as it'll just expire.

That just all sounds like opinions and feelings to me. My original point was whether or not things made sense for him to do, and based on that, determining if the writing was good or bad. I wasn't going for subjectivities in that evaluation.

If writing efficiency was based on how good someone felt by it, then Lovecraft would probably be the world's worst author.
