  2. I still want my Chariot idea to be a thing. Mount + Chariot Siege which ferries up to 4 players which can use their weapon skills.
  3. > @"Chaos.7614" said: > Not gonna lie, my intent with the design wasn't for it to be all that mobile outside of the aura skill granting swiftness. Instead of it being a class to easily gap-close, it's more of a class that won't let you live after making it to you, which I think allows gs 3 to fit the theme of the class. I drew on the idea for greatsword 3 from the old offhand sword 5 skill that pulled an enemy with you after being in melee range, although the greatsword skill wouldn't have a minimum range requirement. It obviously won't work on anything with a breakbar or something you can't normally CC, but it can still pull players in competitive to beat them down. A small gapcloser on 3 will make the entire kit smoother anyway. There's no point enforcing his "low mobility juggernaut" theme onto only 1 skill when he doesn't expand similar traits to any of his Legend Stance or other GS skills. There should be more skills of similar nature in the Legend Stance itself, rather than on the weapon. This is where I hate a majority of Revenant Epsec ideas : People keep trying to tie the weapon with the Legend, where that's the entire problem with Rev in the first place, which causes Rev to have extremely low options for weapon loadouts if they are going for builds surrounding specific Legends. Also there is really no point trying to enforce gameplay archetypes on Revenant as a whole, because they swap Legends and essentially dual-wield archetypes. And besides, we already have one such Archetype, and that's the Reaper, and funnily enough, Reaper itself is the only Necro spec that has a built in Gapcloser on Shroud 2.
  4. It's only way too slow if yu are running after someone and tossing it. That's the only issue it has. In any other situation when the target isn't running away and it works consistently.
  5. Too immobile. At least 1 mobility skill on Greatsword would be nice. Change GS 3 to be a gap closer instead. It's definitely gonna be wonky vs bosses which cannot be displaced any how, so either the skill is entirely borked when used against a Boss, or yu have to be in melee range anyway so a gap closer would be a much better option.
  6. > @"HotDelirium.7984" said: > Nah fam. Its a red herring and our Commander is being toopid again. Even Joko was like ":/ really... you're being dumb killing Elder Dragons..." Our entire existence since PoF began was people telling us where to go, and what to fight. I guess we really are stupid.
  7. No point reading too much into it. If Rythlock were planned for it to happen as yu are hinting, then he planned for it badly. For one, what if Smoldur decided to take the position around the table right under the ledge? Anyone directly opposite of him would see Mr. Ryland before he could even walk 2 steps near the ledge. And what if Ryland missed or Smoldur dodged? Why go through so much setup just to give his son a shot at killing Smoldur, something they would have plenty of chances in the future when they clashed and fought as opposing forces?
  8. Could see it happen. Anet doesn't even do foreshadowing well.
  9. > @"White Kitsunee.4620" said: > Norn got ignored in their own story. :( They took everything that could have been a Norn expansion and shoehorned Charr into it because people wanted a Charr focused story. Like hell, people are asking about Charr focused story/ expansion, travelling to Charr homelands, knowing more about Charr origins, but what we get is Charr in Norn Disneyland messing things up left and right because they pointed at Commander and Aurene and be like "I want that"
  10. > @"HotDelirium.7984" said: > Lowkey when Jormag and Waaaaaaaaham were talking I was like YES a spirits of the wild lore moment and then!!!!! Nothing. We have been WAITING for this moment. You enslave my spirits of the wild, ambush us and you don't like OUR attitude?! > ._. Man the writing for this entire season is disappointing. Whoever is responsible for writing dialougues need to be fired. 80% of the Commander's interaction with every plot important character aside from people we know we can trust is "Hehehehe yu know so little" So er, yu guys gonna tell us? Also, Jormag. For someone who is all about deception and persuasion, they are awfully bad at it. Their shtick is to persuade and seduce and plant ideas, but they way they are written for the entire season is like : "ehehehehe listen to me, my plan good, uh er what's my proof and goal or any bait to lure us in? Er..... secrets ehehehehe. Also Aurene, ehehehehe babby dragon, yu know so little." Oh how far Gw2 writing has devolved.
  11. > @"Pax.3548" said: > I share his reaction though, I too really distrust Jormag, like, really. Except it doesn't excuse his terrible behavior. (or terrible writing) Maybe it's just me but it was pissing me to the high heavens when yu fight the final boss of the Metrica Instance and he freaking chirps in randomly about "I don't like this alliance" Hello? Focus on big destroyer ***FIRST*** ? Taimi was literally just arguing back to Braham so he would zip it and focus on the fight THE ENTIRE TIME. Like gosh, Taimi is insufferable but Braham whining the entire way from the gate to the Destroyer boss was straight up the worst filler dialouge no one had to write. And then the instance ends with "huh, idk man, I can like, tremor sense Destroyers"
  12. > @"HotDelirium.7984" said: > It would not surprise me if literally and thematically we are actually being persuaded by Jormag to some degree and that the Primordus threat is just a red herring. I can already smell the plot from 10 years away. - Jormag says Primordus is a bigger threat. - Primordus is rip. - Jormag succs Primordus EXP and offers Aurene the same. - Jormag wants Aurene to embrace her role as an ED and stop "playing around with mortals" - Things go down. - Jormag flees after 1 confrontation, Aurene licks her wounds. - Cantha time, with Bubbles lurking around. EoD speculation : - Racist Canthans - Rally Canthans for upcoming threat of either Bubbles or Jormag - Racists don't care, disaster, okay we believe yu guys now q.q - Prep time - Bubbles is up on the plate to fight (or Jormag) - Other ED is left for LW6
  13. #Everytime I feel like, hey maybe we are making progress with Braham as a character, and that his growth arc is happening, he regresses back into a baby. Anet. Stop this. Braham doesn't have to express his opinions about everything by whining like a child. He's no longer one. Takes like 4 different parties to tell Braham to focus on the threat at hand for him to stfu about Jormag for 2 steps of the quest and HE BACK AT IT.
  14. > @"Leonidrex.5649" said: > my idea for thief was that they would have skills with cooldowns as anyone else, but once per cooldown they would be able to bypass the cooldown and pay it in initiative instead. inc ini pool to like 100, have 5 ini reg/s. and skills cost ~40-60 ini depending on impact. > that was thief has to know what their skills actually do instead of using only 2-3, maybe it would take some effort to play the class, also also. This would fix the stealth blast spamming, 6s while in combat, 12s out of combat if you switch between sets. Actually balanced. Make it 4 Ini resources that can **only** be refreshed by stealing, and recasting a skill already on cooldown consumes one. Trickery increases this to 6.
  15. > @"Fueki.4753" said: > I believe the problem actually is Thief's ~~runaway~~ disengage potential. > Thief can have far too much access to Stealth and mobility. > In my opinion, that's were Thief should get nerfed in exchange for having more damage. > The only reason they are able to do this is because of ini system. With no cooldown to gate, they can Blackpowder + Heartseeker as many times as they want until resource runs out. As a "tradeoff" (heh using Anet's favourite term), their skills have become weak over the years because they have been systematically "tweaked" to accommodate the fact they have no cooldowns gating proper resource management and as such can function at a much higher capacity than any other Profession (at least on the damage front) So we end up with a no cooldown profession with alot of very mundane "basic" abilities. Alot of Thief skills are literally Press X get X in nature.
  16. > @"Master Ketsu.4569" said: > The only Rev weapon that is horribly lacking atm is really Hammer. I've found uses for every other weapon, but Hammer right now is just horribly inferior to shortbow in nearly all aspects. Lower DPS, slower, clunkier, easier to outplay. It's only benefit is that it has better defenses, but this does not outweigh the loss it suffers in every other aspect. > > The problem seems to be that Hammer was massively overnerfed to appease WvW zergers ( a playerbase that tend to lean towards silver rank in sPvP ) who didn't want to learn how to avoid the highly telegraphed attacks. This has created an issue in higher-level sPvP play, where Hammer is now absolutely useless against more experienced players who actually are aware of its telegraphs. Now, this doesn't mean the telegraphs are a bad thing, far from it if anything Hammer animations are very balanced. It just needs a numbers adjustment to compensate for the fact that the weapon is currently comically ineffective against anyone 1500+. It could then be split in WvW if needed. > > Hammer never really fit serious PvE content either. The damage it outputs is just horrendous, made worse by having really silly cast times and even sillier hotboxes. They should at least give it some self preservation skills and better self peel to make it a good ranging weapon on par with something such as Warrior Rifle. But no, the real weakness of Revenant is the severe lack of customizability, so much so that they have strictly one set of decent weapon loadout per build, and if any part of that gets nerfed, they have literally no options to swap out to.
  17. > @"Justine.6351" said: > rev needs a warhorn with skills that grant boons. Rev needs an ANYTHING which is support based. It's so strange that Rev is the only Profession which has blatant support capabilities (Ventari for example) but no weapon that provides support. Unless yu count Staff. (ROFLMAO)
  18. The people finding issue with Thief isn't in group v group. And any thief that shows themselves in a group v group gets dumpstered, and any group having a thief need to rely on the thief not fighting to pull their worth. It's all so utterly silly. Crazy idea but what if we got rid of Ini system and give Thief some actual skills with bite, but placing them on a cooldown? And everytime they Steal, they will by default refresh one of their skills? I mean pretty sure people are tired of having spammable weak skills right? > @"Psycoprophet.8107" said: > Why doesn't it, cuz u dont think it fits? Who made the rule high mobility= low burst? Lmao, Power Mesmer, Power Rev, Power Warrior, Power Soulbeast and even to some extent Power Holo literally defies the idea of "high mobility = low burst"
  19. > @"Quadox.7834" said: > discovered in context basically means "top teams started running it" To be fair.... digging through the trashcan and finding something usable kinda also counts as discovering.
  20. Mfw people actually start complaining about HEALER WARRIOR, something so far away from what Warrior is originally archetyped as, discovered only because the Profession got dumpstered so hard in the other aspects. Gosh, people really will cry nerf about every bloody thing.
  21. Is this PvE or PvP? Is this solo open world or raid/fractal?. These are all important questions to asl yurself too. For example, a Condi Herald may function extremely well in PvP and Openworld but their dps is horrendous compared to their Renegade counterpart for group content.
  22. This thread reeks of someone who theorycrafted an idea, thought it was op, and never actually saw it in action before posting such an idea on forums. 1. If this was so Op, 50 man organized zergs would already be using it, but they aren't. 2. It won't work and here's why : they are extremely unreliable, unresponsive, and randomly popped. Its summoning condition is too easily fulfilled, and it is burstable with a force of equal size before it can do any real damage. The sudden presence of 20 of these golems is impossible to be coordinated in a proper zerg v zerg and successfully deployed en masse without some being accidentally summoned early and ruining a potential mass summoning. Besides yu are pulling numbers off wiki page, and if yu actually fought any of these guys, yu will know that their threat range is pathetically small and an enemy force can easily manauver themselves around it with little effort. Also a force all utilizing golem rune will result in alot of them having stat deficiencies which could lead in things like boon duration loss, survivability loss, healing power loss, which might seen negligible in a group v group setting, but if yu actually know how group v group works, people can be picked off one by one and killed VERY FAST. But say, this is actually true and an op strategy : Get us a video of this happening and it beating a force of the same size.
  23. > @"Pterikdactyl.7630" said: > I think the trait is pretty cool. I am not a Necro player, however I really love playing support Scourge. The biggest thing in my eyes that makes the trait less appealing is that it competes with Desert Empowerment, which feels a little bad if sharing barrier is your goal. At least the end Barrier has a way better 2.0 coefficient compared to Desert's 0.77. And I think the draw to Harbinger is the fact yu don't have to bother using F1s at all unless it's to safely range yur other shade skills. For encounters where yu want yur group to stack, yu just don't bother using F1 and can focus yur attention on other things. It's definitely more selfish than a Desert Empowerment build, and better suits situations where yu just throw out a huge Barrier to absorb a single large burst rather than bother with uptime.
  24. Yes. It's pretty decent on Heal Scourges. What kind of thread is this anyway?
  25. Burn DH as a part of an ambush group? Yea. Part of main zerg? Heck no.
