  1. ...as to why all the Halloween-themed items on sale in the Gem store? I’m happy to see items regularly rotating and picked up the arachnid glider while available on sale since I love spiders, but I am curious as to whether there is a reason. Is there a Halloween-esque holiday that I don’t know about this time of year? Just curious. :)

  2. LWS4 has been the best so far, although I feel there was too much going on for how much time could be allotted to each character and problem. IMO, it might have felt better with around twice as many episodes, two per map. A lot of new characters and groups were introduced that I would have enjoyed getting to know better. I liked Blish and Gorrik, but feel that we skipped over learning why they joined the Inquest and what happened to Blish. The attachment of the commander to Blish felt forced to me considering how briefly we’d known him and reactions to previous characters lost (such as my beloved Trahearne). Zafirah felt a bit out of nowhere to me — what group was she a part of and why was she berating me for killing her rampaging murderous god who was the proximal cause of all that was going wrong in the world? (I could be mistaken on that, going by what I’ve read of GW1 lore and what other players have said, etc.) Joko’s speech felt very fitting and I enjoyed that whole episode. Having Zafirah berate me right after? No, many people might have place to but some follower of Balthazar would be the last in that line. I was okay with her character after that although still don’t really understand where she came from nor how she came around.

I enjoyed the story missions and maps, especially stealthing on Kourna and wish there was a class that had an option to play like that normally in open world, etc.! =) I liked the maps, especially Jahai with its pieces from elsewhere and seeing what looked like space marines coming from and then retreating back into a portal was awesome!

Also loved the music and the two mounts introduced in LWS4! <3

I love Aurene, but agree with what others have said that her connection with Caithe and her death. I don’t understand what Caithe’s role was supposed to be, especially since Aurene so quickly after that was able to speak for herself. For so many reasons, I think it would have been better to not have Aurene die at all and leave everyone beaten down and Kralk escaping as defeat enough. It felt less bad to be than to those keeping up with the episodes I think because I got to play episode 6 immediately after 5 and so, in my mind, Aurene wasn’t in that state for long.

After all this, I am confused by everyone saying we need to go after the other elder dragons! Wasn’t it established in LWS3 that that would end the world and Kralk we took a chance on because he was going to end the world if he lived and Aurene made it possible to defeat him without further destabilization? Maybe we can excise incompatible magics from Jormag and Primordius while they slumber...

    > Why is it called Bellringer and where are the bells?! Is this a minstrel necro? Do they ring bells, y/n? :D

Same here! I read the title and imagined the seen from Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail where a guy is going around ringing a bell and calling “Bring our your dead!”

Rather than have another weapon option, I think it would be fun if a new elite allowed you to reanimate vanquished enemies (maybe with a limit of up to veteran or you would only have so much power and could have one powerful minion or several less powerful ones) that would last until they were killed again, left the zone, etc.

  4. Druid continues to be nerfed. I suspect it is still in meta largely because it’s the group comp people are used to, but I could be mistaken. I love playing healers and Druid was my main for fractals and raids the past two years but since the big nerf several months ago, I stopped playing the class.

Tempest had always had strong healing ability and can aid the group with auras.

Have you looked at the other support classes? I enjoy support Scourge and Firebrand and many people play Revenant healers effectively. Both Firebrand and Revenant can also provide other party buffs, especially quickness and alacrity.

    > I would sell my soul for a "simple posture" without idle animations!!! :( Something like in ESO, default posture has no idles but we can enable "Personalities" for different animations and emotes.

I’m fine with the idle animations we have now (I mostly see the sylvari ones) but it would seem like adding an option to simply stand still without any would be a nice option to add. Postures like the ESO personalities that I’ve seen, I wouldn’t want as they look like standing in a single exaggerated pose (commander and thief for instance). Now if personalities or their potential GW2 equivalent were different sets of idle animations, that could be cool! I love the GW2 mount idle animations! :) I think more emotes would be a fun addition to GW2 and, if available in the Gem store, bring them more revenue. Especially if more emotes were added, it would be nice to have a drop down box one could select to see what emotes they have available and what the commands are (SWTOR had this and especially when I new player I found it helpful).

    > Just to make my case clear and not seem like a kitten mesmer white knight, im in complete agreement with elite specs comming with tradeoffs and i welcome it, this just feels like the balance team had something personal with chrono and decided to give it the druid treatment.

This exactly. Both chrono and druid were PvE meta (no idea about other game modes) and instead of just adjusting so that other classes could fill those roles (which I am all for variety and options and I think they have done this well with specs like Firebrand and others :+1: ) they went further to totally gimp these specs. :disappointed:

    RIP chrono and druid

How was a Druid nerf needed in PvE??? That is where I played my Druid — fractals, raids, etc. — but no more since the pet nerf because I hate it thematically and all but the tankiest pets go down the moment an enemy sneezes at them. :anguished:

  8. I have no idea. Druid was one of the elites that already had a trade-off, sacrificing damage for support ability and CA never seemed over-powered as it has to be charged up and the cooldown was not insignificant. Removing Druid-specific buffs like Glyph of Empowerment so that they wouldn’t have a clear advantage over other support roles made sense. But the pet nerf was the worst both thematically and gameplay wise and everything else is just nails in the coffin. :disappointed:

    > Perhaps it's affected by pupil size. Two of my sylvari - the more normal-looking ones - have fairly large pupils (though their irises are still clearly visible); their bright green and pinkish-red eyes can look almost entirely black in some bright/daytime lights. My third sylvari, with pinpoint pupils and bright red eyes, never has that problem: his eyes remain baleful red all the time. But all three sylvari's eyes glow brightly at night, like they're supposed to.

    >

    > I always thought it was just the way the lighting interacts with their eyes. Matter of fact I rather like the phenomenon; it makes sylvari hit the intentional Uncanny Valley a little bit more.

I like it as well! I purposely gave one of my sylvari nearly all black eyes to give her an uncanny fey look. None of my other sylvari ever appear to have all-black eyes — of course they look different under different lighting conditions (as does everything, naturally) but perhaps some people notice it more because sylvari eyes are relatively larger and more vivid than those of other races.

    > You can also unequip then reequip them to make them appear. With this method it isn't just client side either.

It does reappear after the emote; the problem for me is having the back piece disappear during the emote. I don’t see how this would be good for any character, but especially for one where it is integral to their identity, as the largos wings are for my largos character. :anguished:

  11. Why are backpacks hidden at all during emotes??? There doesn’t need to be an option for this — we can already hide our backpack. Many of these wouldn’t even clip and I would tolerate that better than having the backpack just disappear. For fun I decided to make a largos character with the backpack / glider combo but having his fins randomly disappear destroys the concept. :( Please fix this! <3

  12. Overall the changes make sense to me. Thematically, I wouldn’t have minded if shouts/commands were disabled for SB as it seems odd to yell “sic ‘em!” etc. while merged with your pet.

However, I don’t understand why Ancestoral Grace was nerfed, not that it matters to me since Druid is dead to me unless and until the pet nerf is revoked or gets a major overhaul.

  13. There are some materials that would make sense to have space for in material storage, such as the flowers obtainable from the home garden plots. Meanwhile, there are some storage spaces that make no sense to me, specifically an item needed for a specific legendary weapon — why would you need a material storage space for that??? It is something that you are going to obtain/craft probably once at most and could be stored in bank or inventory while working on the legendary item. Storage space should be reserved for items you will be regularly finding, crafting, etc.

  14. I ran into this problem for the first time tonight. I always buy through PayPal and never had a problem before but now, instead of taking me to PayPal, it just blinks “payment authorization failed.” I guess I’ll have to submit a ticket if I still get this error tomorrow. Hopefully Grenth’s mask will be available for a few days at least!

EDIT: Worked fine today! Now I’m not entirely sure whether I ran into a bug last night or missed checking a box... If the latter, the error message could have been more helpful in calling this to my attention!

    > I too have been waiting weeks, patiently since my request for Character slots, Bank tabs, Shared inventory and Storage expander to be on sale. Maybe even a package with all these items would be nice. I have seen many other items repeated in the rotation during the months since any of these have been on sale. Please?

I expect they will probably be back and maybe on sale in August, around the time of the game’s anniversary. If I’m not mistaken, March and August seem to be the major times such utilities go on sale.

@"LordMadman.5812" I’m all for variety and for players to be able to reproduce various looks by being creative. Personally, I would not be in favor of rip-off outfits being sold as such and some of those other items... For one, there are already outlandishly huge weapons if one wants that look — any larger and they’d be clipping the world!

  16. ONLY in PvP

Not saying they should be nerfed in PvP, I have no idea and this is the first I’ve seen readers complained about, but I enjoy my necros in PvE as they are, thank you. Reaper has never been meta in anything (at least not to my knowledge) but it’s super fun to play. First my staff Ele was nerfed and then my Druid (don’t even play that spec since the pet nerf); let me have my necro fun.

What to expect? As far as I have seen, from the WvW and PvP forums, you can expect lots of RIP and nerf everything posts... :disappointed:
