    > As @"Haleydawn.3764" and @"TheNecrosanct.4028" both stated, this is a catch up bundle for those that have obtained the Skyscale and in all honesty if anyone would just put a minimum of thought into it before commenting you'd see it makes complete sense to do it this way(especially since we just had older sets on sale within the last 2 months).

To me, that only makes sense for those who like to collect a lot of mount skins. I only buy premium skins I really like, mount selects and the occasional mount RNG license on sale. I only have 1-3 skins for each mount, so you can see that a pack like this does not appeal to players such as myself. If all mount skins were available individually (packs are a discount if you want the whole set) or were tradeable (I’d buy this for the skins I like and knowing I’d be able to get a nice chunk of gold for the branded skin that so many others want, for instance), then I think everyone would be reasonably happy.

No, because for those you have the option of either RNG or select. Personally, I think they should have added them to one or more of the existing sets and brought those back to the Gem store — those who had already collected the other skins then get a guaranteed Skyscale unlock if they decide to go the RNG route while the rest of us still have options.

Selling THEMED skins for the various mounts as a pack makes sense to me but releasing a set of skins for one mount really does not imho.

  3. Many of the skins for the original mounts offer similarly small changes, color patterns, more dye channels, small details. To me it seems like it would have been better to include them in the next set of Mount skins (like the Instani, Desert Racer, Exotic, etc.) that you can get one randomly or pay more for one of your choice. I like the bioluminescent skin but not enough to pay 2k to have all of them, personally.

    > I agree, but PVP is the pillar that holds the playerbase. You can always burnout pve but good PvP is never burnt out because people are always a challenge. PVP is not their strong point because they let it die out, but a game with such great mechanics can always have epic PvP.

    >

    > Additionally, the pve aspect of the company already has its assigned devs, timing, and format, something I don’t see in lore development nor PvP. If a few resource can be invested in lore and PvP, it would make a big difference.

    >

    > Think about it, pve needs constant updates, PvP requires more maintenance than new stuff. All it takes is ONE good fix in PvP, and the rest is smooth sailing. As for lore, they need more back story and branches, which does take some resources, but lore is crucial.

“The pillar that holds the player base”??? That’s quite a statement. PvP had nothing to do with why I chose this MMO over others (except in the sense that there is less of it in open world — more players means events done easier and faster but no one “steals” my loot nor resource nodes). I’m sure there are people who play MMORPGs that have a great interest in PvP — I’ve known several — but it is not everyone. I would appreciate an expansion of the types of PvP available in GW2 but it is not the priority to me and would be at most a fun addition to what keeps me interested and invested in the game, which is the PvE and open world content.

  5. I’d be glad to see more PvP options and game modes — would entice me to try it again. :) To my mind, nothing wrong with the maps that exist but as OP stated, needs to be more.

My favorite part of this game is the PvE, exploring the maps, especially with mounts and gliding, working on collections, etc.

Lore, well, as long as it doesn’t seem out of place and is actually explained to those of us who haven’t played GW1... I would have been interested in learning more about the Mursaat but feel that was thrown away on some pointless NPC (Livia, ugh). Whenever there is something that seems out of place to me it always ends up being GW1 shoehorn. :disappointed: Joko was fine; I didn’t need to know he had existed in GW1.

    > This 1000 times - bring permanently (or at least cycle all within 2-3 weeks timeframe) all mount skins and most of the outfits. Time-gating cosmetics is kitten loss for you and kills the game enjoyment for us. Noone wants that, I'm sure (well, "noone", apart from Steam/Gog/Epic and bunch of game studios...).

As has been outlined in other threads, there are good reasons to not have everything available in the Gem store all the time. As a recent example, I bought the raven helm and mantle when they were brought back although I don’t currently have a character these work on, but I like the armor pieces and don’t know when they might be available again, so now I have them. Whereas if everything were available all the time, I would wait to buy them at such a time as I had a character who could use them and instead bought one of the items I know I want for current characters (certain glider and mount skins). With the current model, one is enticed to buy it while it’s available at the same time that it’s not competing with every other option.

TL;DR Limited availability makes us buy more, actually, as a whole if not individually.

But I do agree I would like the older items to cycle more regularly, especially the various mount skin sets and packs!

    > I agree that it's awesome. Unfortunately, it's an outfit.

While I generally also prefer armor skins to outfits, in my opinion, this outfit (and a few others) totally make sense to me to be an outfit and not armor skins, mostly because of the mists/dissolving effect (not sure what to call it) as I can’t imagine how that would translate mixing pieces without either looking terrible or creating a crazy amount of additional work to make the effect look right with all sorts of different armor combinations.

For my tastes, I don’t like the gas mask but “hide helm” probably would not look right with this outfit and I do like the hood. But it does look really cool, perhaps even more so “in-person”! :) It’s great that different outfits/armors are being created for different tastes! And no crazy shoulders or senseless blades/spikes erupting everywhere on this one! So I agree with OP — well done! :+1:

    > I wonder why there isn't an easily achieveable horse mount that has literally nothing special about it for people who are just starting out in the game. This could be a mount you could purchase with 10g from any heart vendor in all the low level tyria maps. I'd imagine this plain mount could have all sorts of cool skins since horses are pretty versatile animals. It could have a pinto skin, appaloosa skin, buckskin skin, a donkey skin, zebra skin, an armored horse skin, and if you wanted to go further, you could even make a magical stag skin for it. I would highly suggest unicorn skin, since... well, everybody loves unicorns.

    > I'd imagine that it could also have a short speed boost ability to where it could go faster so long as you're holding spacebar. Sort of like the skimmer's hovering ability except it would be used for speed instead of hovering. I admit, I'm taking inspiration from ESO in this concept.

    > If they do make a horse mount, I hope that they try their best to base the animations off of real horses. They already do a wonderful job with basing animations off of real animals, so I have no doubt they would do amazing at this.

    > I understand if most of you are against this idea. I can see people thinking this mount to be a waste of a keybind. But think of cosmetic purposes. Everyone loves cosmetics. Imagine being a knight in shining armor who rides a trusty steed. Or a young girl adventurer with her beloved unicorn companion. Or even, a nature-loving sylvari riding the white stag of their dreams.

    > So many possibilities...

    >

I like the idea, only would have the default mount be a doylak, since they seem more fitting in Tyria, with other options such as horse and stag as skins.

  9. It would be lovely if the Leap of Faith mastery ability transitioned seamlessly to gliding (for those with gliding mastery). Maybe I just don’t have the timing down yet, but I feel that I always lose more height than I should, either transitioning too early or too late. I think that if you haven’t landed after leap of faith that gliding should be activated automatically. I think it’s lovely to have masteries and expansions synergies. :)

    > Do you get many of the additional open world events done? I know the Facet is difficult without a group but it seems each region has at least one open world event whether it's a legendary boss or something else.

Good question. At least it is not clear to me from the original post. I sadly missed last month after all because I miscalculated for my time zone (doh!). I have done all of the hearts and collected from griffin roosts marked on the map but don’t have most of the other events done. I do plan to join tonight. :)

EDIT: Yes, we did the events and mastery collection to get the runes — everything but the hearts.

And it doesn't work right with this tool. Underwater it works almost like the Unbound Magic Harvesting Blast, but not on the ground

Ahh, maybe reword your original post to say extra strikes instead of extra nodes then? That is why I had assumed you meant the Glyph of Reaping glyph that the tool came with.

Did you submit a bug report?

  12. I totally agree with others who have posted here about buying mount skins (and goes for all other skins and wardrobe options too): I get it because I like it and it fits the theme / look of my character. I don’t care how many others are using it, and with many cool skins available, different people with have different preferences anyway. Having these options available to all, including the many dyes we can use and reuse on everything, is how it should be! =) Use what pleases you, not to flaunt “I’m rich, you know.” It is hilarious to me that in order to visually flaunt their wealth, people now have to resort to infusions and look like biohazards — it costs serious gold to look that ugly! (Of course, infusions like everything else are a matter of taste and I am not saying that everyone who uses one does so purely because they are expensive.)

There's all sorts of gear available in the game that has choosable stats via the new design, so there are plenty of work-arounds.)

Agreed! Based on what Anet has (and has not) said, I don’t think there will be further stat resets related to this. I would select stats on the items you have and work on getting new items with the stats you want in whatever way is easiest / most fun for you. Many of the LWS3 currencies are easy to farm and I find it pleasant to glide around Bloodstone Fen for extra Unbound Magic. :) The only thing I might hold off on doing is salvaging stat-selectable items.

  14. I think you mean the Glyph of Reaping that came with the Skyscale harvesting tool. Have you tried it on land in garden patches or on harvesting nodes in a guildhall? It only harvests multiple if the nodes are quite close together, as only occasionally happens outside garden patches and the dual Winterberry nodes, for instance. I had not noticed extra range underwater.

As to the speed, I got it for the cute animation so I wouldn’t want it to be faster. :3 The molten harvesting sickle is the fastest I’ve used for single node harvesting.

    > Can we get the deathly shoulder skins back? According to the wiki they were obtainable once as a drop from black lion chests during Halloween 2012 and never returned. Can you put them back in the chests in an upcoming cycle or sell them as a triple skin pack in the store that contains the avian, bull and human skull variant at once?

That would be awesome! I would gladly pay gems for the avian skull mantle!

    > These. I loved sPvP when I was into it. But the spike damage in this game is WAY out of control compared to other MMO's. This sort of "dodge or die" Dark souls mentality kills the game both in PvP and PvE. It's the same principle as to why so many more people farm AB over raids. If they want to bring player participation into any part of the game I think they really need to address the gameplay mechanics on a fundamental level.

Very much agree! I don’t enjoy “dodge or die” style play in any game mode. I had some fun matches and duels when I played PvP several years ago. All I’ve read tells me this would no longer be the case and insta-death isn’t fun.

  17. The original skin is nice, with the dye channel having a greater effect than in most of the default skins. I would be happy to see more beetle- and perhaps other invertebrate-inspired skins! I am waiting for the Desert Racer skins to be available again to get the Scarab one. :)

  18. It’s not just in raids. I joined a fractal group via LFG already in the middle of a boss fight and several people down. I tried to simultaneously clear adds and work on getting people up but was not able to turn the tide. I was then told flat out that based on my DPS I was ****. :( No reason to argue or wait to be kicked. Now that situation in particular I did not go in trying to do my max rotation on the boss — what would have been the point??? But knowing that I my numbers are being watched and monitored... I know I am not the best but I think I pull my weight and I’m always working on improving... Anyway, I haven’t joined a PUG fractal group since then, which is my loss as I more often have had good experiences... :pensive:

If you have stacks of instant teleports then no, there is no reason to buy the rechargeable, but I only ever had a dozen or so. The only times I have wished to use teleports that frequently on a character was traversing a map I didn’t have open to do bounties or keeping up with a HoT HP train back when I had fewer masteries (and no mount!) and would get lost and/or killed in the jungle! I suppose if there was almost no CD then you wouldn’t need to even try to travel at all but just teleport to the next bounty, HP or whatever, so long as you were in a group willing to do the legwork for you. Or in what other situations would you want to teleport that often?

    > @"Crystal Black.8190" said:

    > Didn't it have any recharge first and people used it to cheat out map explorations? I think their fix by adding a recharge went a bit over the top. A 10 min recharge would probably have been enough to discourage such abuse.

It did, but I think that you didn’t have to be logged on the character (it was one hour real time rather than game time on character). The exploit that I heard of had nothing to do with the recharge but with creating new characters and then teleporting to Bloodstone Fen to do map completion for a chance at a BLC key and was fixed another way (level <80 can no longer teleport there? don’t remember).

  21. > @"ParadoX.3124" said:

    > Don't you think 1 hour recharge is a bit too much ?

    > I would definitely have brought it if it was 15-20 mins

I did think so at first and there have been occasions when I would have liked to use it again on a character before it’s recharged, but less often than I had thought. I use it to get somewhere really needed —a dungeon I wanted to play with guildies only to realize I’d not visited that map on this alt, a bounty I need for achievement or daily, etc. As I continue playing on that character, the recharge is usually gone before I wish to use it again. Sure, there are times I might like to port more often, but less frequently than I’d thought (I just don’t expect to join a train on a map I have no WPs on with it, which I occasionally did with the instants and would use five or so in the course of an hour). Maybe with a 15 min CD too many things would be too easy? In any case, I’m very happy I bought it. :)
