We got no information on launch, can't even figure out information until the time-gates are passed, and have gotten zero response from ANet as to why this is the way it is.

That doesn't make sense with the reality of the game. If you can't acknowledge there is a reason for it, your argument is dead in the water because it clearly opposes the reason Anet used it, whatever that reason is.

If you want to make a case for why time gating is bad in this case, you can't assume off the start there isn't a reason to use it.

you can buy the finished items on tp
-
repeatedly getting error 1036, product 9, module 18, line 624
Too many is going there for the skyscale collections.
-
We would never get free, unlimited flight like wow. Which is a good thing. People got too used to it, and its not been healthy for the game since it was introduced.
-
Theres still the new armors to work for.
-
Yep, you need 12x Piece of Skyscale food which is 4g, 83s a pop on EU tp right now. As well 1x Grow Lamp which is 47g, 89s.
I have more than enough charged quartz to craft it all thankfully.
-
So far the skyscale is not terribly impressive. Its just too slow, both at forward and vertical movement. I had really hoped for a more responsive mount like the griffon or skimmer.
-
If you are looking for the mastery point in the brandstorm. Follow the river from the north, it goes into a cave under kralk and is safe.
-
you can buy the items on tp if you dont want to wait. The grow lamp and the skyscale food.
-
Anet have consistently said that the flyers will never get to use updrafts as it would invalidate gliders and their usefulness. At least we have some interaction with the launch skill to hopoff.
-
Mesmer greatsword is not a melee weapon. Nor is revenant hammer.
-
it would quickly make greatsword the best melee weapon and dumping all the others.
-
Not like its that hard to change to the hot or pof stats. Just an exotic insignia/inscription, some more mats and in the mystic forge to convert. Trinkets, yes, those can be grindy. But much more accessible with ls3.
-
You can fly, just in a limited window before you must land and recharge. Plus the reloading mastery helps lenghtening it. Face it, we were never going to get a total freedom flying mount like WoW.
-
Change is the essence of an mmo, if you cant cope with it, then its not a genre for you. If there was no changes it would grow stale.
-
Dragons are simply way more popular. Plus the focus of guild wars 2 is elder dragons, not elder wyverns.
-
I found all the scales myself, but I ended resorting to a guide for the eggs to try to make it in time. I failed with 20 mins on the first day.
-
I think people are getting hung up on the charged quartz, you can buy BOTH products on TP. Ie skyscale food and Grow Lamp. But tp gougers is jacking up the price for the impatient and those whom didnt have a stock of charged quartz already.
-
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skyscale
You can find the links to the masteries.
-
People have asked for older content to be relevant, and not just condensing everything into a new map. And outside ascended materials charged quarts afaik is the only crafting mat you dont need a crafting prof to refine.
-
Theres a dev chat the 24th about the skyscale. So yeah, dont think they will be spilling much until then.
-
People will feel forced to use a guide because of the timegating. If you take too long, then you miss out on a day.
-
The items so far is a non issue, as people can buy them on tp. But id say that its having to own all ls4 episodes that may be a stumbling block for some, especially if they didnt pay attention and got them while free.
-
Untrue, you dont need all the story masteries. But theres leylines, lava tubes, updrafts and more. You will move around a lot easier if you got them.

> Buy them at insanely elevated pricing you mean??? Creating a "Scavenger Hunt" is one thing, involving hard to farm materials that you'll have to buy on the TP is just screwing over every player but a few. The time gating itself has divided the player based into haves and have not's as it prevents those who didn't finish before reset on the first day from ever catching up. Now, those few who were able to play during the day of the patch dropping will always get to see the collection requirements before anyone else. That gives them an exclusive opportunity to horde materials from the TP.

The argument fails when you could just pay attention to the latest reddit news on what which will be needed so you can buy it while still relatively cheap, before the masses catches on.
