  2. It is believed it wont progress for 6 days as per the timer on the bar
  3. I enjoyed the story and dialogue. The missions were dull with bosses far too much of a HP sponge. They emulate the Forged with Steel mission without any of the interesting design that went with that excellent mission. Plus these don't (appear to) scale. Saw no reason to do CM outside of achievements All in all, I'm actually surprised it's even more bare bones than expected and that the story/dialogue outclassed the gameplay itself. Not sure delivering a quarter of an episode every 2 months is wise, esp given episodes were already reduced content The only good thing is I can commit my time to other games now this isn't going to demand anything from me

What sunk LS1 was 1) the temporary nature of the content (which is supposedly untrue for this - based on old comments earlier in the year, players coming in late will not have to wait, just like any normal release period), and 2) that the developers were in constant crunch mode, causing unnecessary stress and a steady lowering quality of content. > I hope that's right. It would be bad for players coming in late to not be able to access rewards for content. > The timer seems to connect to bonus rewards in the same way "boss week" and "fractals week" does. The content is otherwise permanent, but that bonus reward bar is likely just a temporary thing The biggest issue seems to me that the instances do not appear to scale which means group based story content. I'm not sure that is good for long term completion - eg someone joining say a year or two down the line
  5. This was a rare example of the story and dialogue especially taking a front seat over a rather poor content drop. I thought there were some interesting things in this "chapter" The Jormag alluding to the "balance" was the thing of note for me. I mean I've always hated that narrative and I'd be glad to see it gone, but if they have switched it out after so many years, it just goes to show even Anet no longer seem to think much of their story. I did like the Braham/Taimi argument. Both had valid points and it was great to see the Asura show their hatred for Primordus rise above all other problems. I'm pretty much in agreement with Braham though Phlunt also mentions that Primordus could have "changed" to accomodate Zhaitans and Mordys magic whilst it slept. I wonder if that is a hint to another model change There's also mention of activity far below levels previously known. Perhaps Primordus has burrowed too far?
  6. The orange bar is def moving if that helps

  8. Everything seems set up to expand over the next few months - like how we have the masteries list already there, but can't unlock at this time. They did say stuff will update over time. I'm guessing they are desp trying to stretch all this out as long as possible I enjoyed the dialogue sequences a lot, but the content was rather dull - mostly due to the bosses health pools being massively too high
  9. Given that they've largeyly ignored the issue and instead stacked it worse and worse over the years, I doubt we will ever see it resolved. I mean they genuinely thought on a Guild Chat that blizzard border effect was a positive addition. That says it all about the priority of this issue
  10. Enameled Emblaze is pretty good for giving mult shaded effects. A lot of the later rares have this kinda of effect in varying degrees. I do like that monochrome effect though in the first pic

That is of interest indeed

Only for new account. So no any changes for us. This is ok. > Personal I don't use steam at all, don't understand why people think that it have value. Steam gives access to thousands of games, often at massively cheap prices when sales come around and are extremely important for indie game companies who often rely on it due to the playerbase which runs into many millions of players across the World. The sheer volume and variety of games gives players access to so many games they would have normally not discovered. It also gives other benefits like group chats, overlays, reviews, achievements, an easy to manage games library and other community tools for gaming groups which are often superior to what some games can offer, plus it often gets early access to games People like to keep their libraries together and Steam allows for that given the vast majority of PC games are there Steam isn't essential, but the benefits are extensive and it's ease of use, unrivalled community size and deep discounts is why somewhere around 20% of global PC sales go through it and why games publishers love it (unless they own their own - often inferior - in house platform) But, to answer the OP, no you cannot use your existing account
  13. And the twin thing is prob just a nod to their link as being each other's weaknesses
  14. I do think both Jormag and Primordus might be gone by EoD, but pleading for any changes is futile. Everything is planned out and set for the concluding chapters and the lead in to the expansion If they are killing them off, it’s too late to change direction
  15. It’s because metas take longer because the achievements are longer. I’ve cleared all the strikes and most of the achievements (Pass, Fraenir and Kodan are very easy to find a casual group for in EU), but the drizzlewood achieves and the weapon ones are very long term goals. All other ls metas I had done within 2 weeks, but I’ve completed no icebrood metas due to the size of them They clearly changed the metas to be less quick to keep people in maps. I like them this way but to many they are too grindy to invest in I also think a lot of players are still catching up and are well behind on what is now a huge amount of content for a new or retuning player.

The last thing Bangar mentioned for his achievement was that Primordus is waking and he does mention the earthquakes. I am not sure if you need to have this part completed to notice them or if it is for everyone. I haven't experienced it myself yet but I always have camera shakes disabled. I haven't heard the sound of it either while I have the sound on. Maybe dailies isn't long enough to notice any. In short: It has to do with the upcoming Living World episode. > > That could explain why I haven't seen any, I completed the storyline and a couple of runs of the meta event, but haven't really done anything else in that episode. > > I've had a character standing in one of the spots earthquakes have been reported for a full in-game day and haven't seen anything. It could have happened when I went to get my pie out the oven, but if so it was very quick. They seem to be very rare
  17. Also, skimmers underwater isn't an automatic thing. There is a quest (which I think works now) then you need a load of mastery points and mastery xp

I’m glad to hear that skimmers can indeed go underwater now — I’ll have to log on just to try that out! :) > > LS1 instances? Really? Via fractals or...? > > I feel like a lot of games are focusing on nostalgia, or maybe that’s nothing new and inevitable from time to time. Never having played GW1, I wasn’t crazy about all the references in PoF that I guess only made sense if you’d played that and I imagine I should expect even more from Cantha. I know WoW released it’s “classic” last year and it looks like ESO is following this year’s return to Skyrim with Oblivion next year. So much human stuff! I play GW2 for the Sylvari and ESO for the Elves! Basically the Saga brought a story event called "Visions of the Past". It filled in some backstory for the previous episodes that didn't invlove us directly and allowed us to "gaze into the past" for 4 LS1 events. They aren't anything noteworthy, just some solo story instances with no real story context given to them. It's just a little something to play. There is now you mention it, a new fractal - Sunqua Peak. It was badly bugged, but it's an OK fractal to dive into if it is now working There's been no new Sylvari stuff. They kinda did all they could with HoT and the Knight of the Thorn sidestory and decided that was it for the race
  19. Icebrood Saga is the main thing that happened (LS5). Which gave 3 new maps, half a dozen strike missions (boss instances), some LS1 instances to cover old ground and a the usual achievements, skins, metas, a World Boss. There's been a few QoL updates, but it's otherwise been a quiet year because of covid and the focus moving off everything and onto the expansion next year Oh skimmers can go underwater after doing a quest and some mastery stuff I can't really comment on classes because they rarely seem any different after a balance patch to me.
  20. Well I know I felt something in game and the trailer did mention earthquakes

Have to sleep :p was vancho. Koda forgives but Koda never forgets ;)

Can't confirm that though. It's not connected to daily reset. You just need to zone and return and it'll allow the next dialogue section

Be ready the many player play dead games, and they like it. > > The one of true sign of any dead game: no be in cyber sport list. This is ok for me? YES. I like that very much. If someone want cyber sport future - guildwars2 is dead for him/her. > Guild Wars 2 has already been in and left the esports scene
  24. The game is very spread out and is 8 years old so the illusion of being dead exists. Most people say it's dead because their favourite bit may not get the love it once had and it is clear the resources aren't always as invested as they once were (hence why have the PoF skill lag issue from April unfixed). A lot of players seem to ignore the fact that players are constantly moving around, constantly active doing things as well because the game is so well set up to do what you want, when you want rather than stagnating by having players standing around doing nothing but chatting which unfiortunately has damaged a lot of MMOs in the past. So no it is not dead. Neglected at times, but not dead
