Thoughts on implementing fishing?

I feel like this would be the default method for Charr and Asura anyway.

 

But honestly, if it doesn't at least remotely feel like the fishing in FFXV, not interested. Especially since *we can dive after the fish and kill them*, we don't need fishing otherwise.

Some "fishing" mini games like the ones in Sandswept and Thunderhead put around the world bosses and the big Meta events on the off time when you go 15 minutes early and have to kill some time instead of afking would be nice. Also one like a wack a mole where you chuck dynamite at circles Iron legion style. Something like the HOT challenge mini games .

I really don't see the appeal. From my experience, most fishing mini-games are either overly time-consuming or profoundly uninteresting and, if they were just to add new kinds of resource node, I'd prefer it to be sources of leather and cloth so that the cost of outfitting medium- and light-armour classes was more in line with heavy-armour ones.
