Do You do Path of Fire meta events as a daily routine?

Recommended Posts

I stay away from PoF due to the aggro range. Also, while not exclusive to PoF, unhealthy flashing effects and visual clutter are worse in PoF, which make metas that much worse. I only do PoF when I have to (such as mount collections and masteries, which can only be done in PoF).

Doppelganger and the casino thing....when I remember. Which wasn't an option. ? I don't think I do ANYTHING religiously once a day except logging in. Some days are wvw days some days are pve days some days are ooh ooh ooh THAT friend is on I will do whatever THEY need to do(story, achievement), it just varies.

What doesn't is that I never do sPvP. I'm not even of high enough rank TO do it.

I don't do any metas on a daily basis. The only things I do every day are collect the login reward and gather from my home instance nodes, and some days I even skip the home instance if I'm pushed for time and have something else I really want to get done.

I usually only have an hour or two in the evening to play, so if I was trying to do the same meta events every day I'd never have time for anything else.

I actually prefer most PoF metas because you don't have to wait around 15 minutes before they start to get a spot into a meta map. That's probably because they aren't very popular, but I'd argue they're even more fun with low numbers, same as any HoT meta really.

They don't require the coordination and participation of everyone in the map to complete, and the objectives are rather straightforward, so it's very simple to just tag up and gather a couple of people to do them. Zerging just makes it mind-numbing and your contribution indistinguishable, which is why I've been leaning towards PoF metas if I have limited time and can only do a handful of events.

I'm not sure what it is exactly but the PoF maps I don't particularly enjoy doing metas on.... perhaps its the layout of the actual metas or where they are specifically located on the maps.... I really don't know, core tyria & even HoT I've pretty much memorized every meta location (very easy to locate memorize & get too), but the PoF I'd be lucky to recall a couple of them. PoF metas for me = Scatter Brain.... and I mean that literally to this very day.

I'll check in and see how close it is to the brandstorm dropping and might stick around if it's getting close, but I have no interest in doing the full meta at this point. At least I actually help seal the weak points. I know for a fact there are those who just get in a couple hits and then go wait for the chests.

To be fair I don't actually play daily anymore as I don't have time, but when I do login PoF metas are not something I do, I'll always opt for the HoT ones instead (if I'm doing any metas on that play session).

I don't play metas for the rewards, and I've just never found the PoF metas fun so extra rewards haven't helped. Casion Blitz I find mind numbingly dull, as with the Burried Treasure one, Serpents Ire feels overly tedious, drawn out, not that interesting, and gives me the worst performance of anything in the whole game. Maw and Augry Rock are OK at best, but don't come close to HoT metas imo. I much prefer the way HoT metas feel with the whole map working toward a goal / progressing the map toward the meta (if played all the way through rather than a quick meta train).

I think there's also still an element of that I find the PoF maps quite dull as well, and of course the aggro range is so irritating that puts me off too.

Prior to the recent changes to PoF metas / adding heroic chests, I never did a PoF metas - like ever. I used to do Auric Basin daily (sometimes more), and would often try to grab a Tangled Depths or Verdant Brink.

Now I get Coin Blitz / Pinata daily, and try to squeeze in Auric Basin. Sometimes if I have time, the squad I'm in might move onto Serpent's Ire (which I had never completed until after the recent revamp) or Maw.

During the Blitz event though, I did at least 4-5 PoF metas a day. Was a great chance to discover/experience many of them for the first time.

I don't particularly do anything routine, that said, a lot of my friends + guild do HoT metas more often than PoF metas, so while i often do 1-4 HoT metas it's much more rare i do PoF metas. I think this is mostly a product of schedule + that i way prefer HoT in general though, ever since everyone was forced to use a brain cell or two to figure out that PoF metas were always simple my biggest problem with doing them has been solved.

I don’t do any metas on a daily basis. I usually complete 3 PvE dailies (for the AP and 2g) but if I don’t feel like it for whatever reason, I don’t. I don’t want to turn a game into a job! =)

Yes, the amalgamated gemstones make me more likely to do the metas if I am in the area, except Desolation; I’m not bothering with that again because unless you get to the final boss you get nothing (SOL if you’re too aggroed to mount or WP). I do the HoT metas more often than PoF because they’re more fun and give rewards much better and many feel epic (esp. Dragonstand!).

I don't play anything as a daily routine as that sounds like an unpaid second job. The question is very narrow-minded. I do play the PoF metas much more frequently now than before the update, if only because there are people actually doing them now.

I was doing at least two a day, until I got burned out trying to make some kind of progress on Realm Portal Spiker. Sometimes only getting one every two hours just sucks. I still think it does not scale properly. It doesn't help that different map metas happen the exact same time either. HoT did this much better that you can go directly to the next map when another if finished.

I forced my way through the rest of Realm Portal Spike being annoyed by it and now don't bother doing any of the PoF metas at the moment while Dragon Bash is up.
