Swagger.1459
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Be_the_life_of_the_party Doesn’t really seem fitting that our heroic characters would want to make citizens of Vabbi temporarily happy enough to procreate for Joko... Would be more fitting if we liberated those citizens, not used an item to locate depressed and lonely people just so the can make babies that will ultimately suffer. Edit- Unless we will eventually be allowed to play an antihero someday, I believe all such “evil” themed quests should be changed to fit the positive moral compass of our characters. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Palawa_Joko Lil snip from the wiki... “Aurene's return made Braham openly praise Joko for actually contributing something good to the world for a change after centuries of evil deeds.”... Our characters are out to destroy Joko and save innocent people and children, yet this quest we are tasked and rewarded for supporting Joko and his “centuries of evil deeds”?????????????? SpyderArachnid.5619
There is a lot of stuff that is not fitting for our heroic characters to do. Tons of Hearts have objectives that a god/dragon slaying hero wouldn't even be seen doing. This is just one of many that we shouldn't do. Yet gameplay wise, we do them to unlock the vendors and to get our map completion. Nice thing is, you don't have to play matchmaker if you don't want to. Go take care of djinns instead if matchmaker isn't your thing. At least killing stuff is more worthy of a hero's attention.

Sojourner.4621
Think of it less as questing and more as making them trust you enough to allow you to buy and sell wares with them. You don't gain trust by liberating people who don't realize they are slaves... the first thing you are told on Entering Vabbi is that the nobles don't WANT to be rescued because they don't know any better. Joko is their god, a normal part of the cycle of life and death, and they welcome his rule because they don't know better. Sure at the academy you're trying to disrupt the propaganda machine by catching the kids and re-educating them while they are young... but here, you're dealing with already indoctrinated adults. The goal is different. Instead you're trying to establish diplomatic ties, and when in Rome....
Westenev.5289
Liberate the citizens... you're under the assumption that the people of Vabbi dislike their current lives. Under Joko's reign they have food, shelter and security (at the expense of the outer farming villages) - and the possibility of immortality after they die. So long as they don't ask any funny questions, a person under Joko's reign could live a decent life.

AlexxxDelta.1806
From what little I remember from PoF, Vabbi high society was in good terms with Joko. And from the looks of it, they were at an idyllic place, drinking wine and watching theater plays. I don't think they wanted any liberating. EmmetOtter.8542
If you object to this heart what are going to do about the others in Vabbi? Honoring the dead at the necropolis who are there to be raised as awakened. The whole brain washed student thing. The entire point of the zone is that you are working on bamboozling Joko's awakened, etc... to help you fight Balthazar. You're their "friend". That's why the awakened are friendly to you there and no where else in PoF.

hugo.4705
Nope to this, enough to nerf quests for whatever random reason. It's just bad and flat if you force player to be nice or do moral things. The quests of Vabbi are okay, I mean, the venthedi academy you're busting myths telling joko did nothing. But necropolis sure, you help people to be awakened but you can't simply come in and kick the coffins. About heart of garden, if they are happy that way, why bothering? Illusion or not don't matter. Then, maybe ask to remove tonn death from personnal story, remove possibility to fuse the asura with a golem like inquest did just before on its friend. Just take a SERIOUS look to the commander: I've killed over 10k living being not sharing my opinions: bandit, nightmare, svanir, flame legion, inquest (which are just researchers). WE ARE A MURDERER, we aren't more peaceful and nice than anyone. And I urge Anet to let the hearts like they are currently. As many said, don't like it? Don't do it but don't ask to nerf it. By nerf, I mean removing substance and making it flat.
coso.9173
to be honest i never really understood why we started helping Joko's servants in general, but some people hve explained it in tis topic :)
yann.1946
This is one of the most interesting hearts in regards to morality because liberating them is not the moral thing to do. It is not because we disagree with joko that his people are mserable. And in the heart you're making their lives better (which wouldn't happen with a liberation)
Pifil.5193
I find it very odd that the OP thinks that helping people to find romance in dark times is wrong especially when they know that the PC will ultimately liberate them all. Also at that point in the story Joko was imprisoned in the land of the lost so who exactly are you going to "liberate" them from?

Randulf.7614
Entering Vabbi an NPC tells you the Vabbians are happy with Jokos rule. The whole map story is made way more interesting because we aren’t liberating from Jokos rule, but working within their system.
