DreamyAbaddon.3265
I think GW2's logo looks like Mortal Kombat's? What do you guys think? Check out link below and compare: https://imgur.com/a/O7eI91B
Donari.5237
There's only so many ways a rearing dragon head can be presented. The pose is similar, the rest is not.
ugrakarma.9416
Im big fan of MK franchise, and I wouldn't complain if they took inspiration from mortal kombat, either for aesthetics, lore, etc. But MK itself is inspired in oriental stuff, and **especially this movie**, a very good and [underrated movie](https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/13048/underappreciated-movies-big-trouble-in-little-china "underrated movie"). Its become popular on my country(Brazil) its seems it didnt become big on USA. > 4. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA WAS A PROMINENT SOURCE OF INSPIRATION. > Two Mortal Kombat characters were modeled after villains in the 1986 John Carpenter movie. The game’s thunder god Raiden took visual inspiration from the movie’s assassin trio, “The Three Storms” (played by Carter Wong, Peter Kwong, and James Pax), while Mortal Kombat boss Shang Tsung resembles the film’s big bad sorcerer Lo Pan (played by James Hong). Designer John Tobias has said that these influences were an homage to Big Trouble because the premise of both the movie and the game were “kind of a mashup between a mythological eastern world and a western world grounded more in reality.” > https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/62727/15-things-you-might-not-know-about-mortal-kombat EDIT: some ppl noticed that Big trouble in little China is by his turn inspired in old action video games(like [street rage]( "street rage")), having similar sequence where you go through zones / levels until you reach the big final villain., the film even had a "sewer level", and there are "sub bosses" of each level. ugrakarma.9416
a mashup between GW2 universe and MK aesthetics would be great to fill a Cantha expansion.
Vancho.8750
There aren't many other ways to paint a dragon and a 2 at the same time.
Randulf.7614
I'm looking forward to finishers also lining up as well. I'm sure we can convince Anet to add babalities to the gem store!
Dawdler.8521
Its not similar at all. The MK dragon looks angry, maybe offended/insulted by something with that snide, low growl facial expression, much like how a snake in attack pose look. The GW2 dragon looks like it swallowed a Charr sideways but then it got stuck and now its trying to cough it up, like a cat trying to get a hairball out.
