In fact, for the price of all 30 skins in that pack, you can buy HoT, PoF, and a whole new other game for the same amount. Funny how that is.

Sure, just try to silence people just like they are. Did you already spend $120+ USD to buy all the skins?
-
That's admirable, but don't expect them to even notice this thread. They'll just see you as one lone nobody and not making money off you won't hurt them.

Exactly. Seeing 100 people say something is different from seeing 1 person say something. Seeing 100 say it makes it seem like maybe it's an issue. Deleting 99 of them or something makes it seem like one lone rando who's too opinionated.
But hey, nice to know ANet thinks my comments are redundant. It really shows their continued commitment to making me feel like a valued customer and player. Cheers.

The chest from when you complete an event or something that pops up on the right side of the screen.

Merging threads seems like an easy way to make it look like hundreds of people aren't pissed about this. And now people's responses are just buried under page after page of responses that were to different conversations about the subject.
But just in case it wasn't clear, I'm still very disappointed in how ANet has done and handled this. Some comments (like my own) have even been deleted because we said "hm yeah I might take a break from playing because of this". The whole thing is a really shitshow just because ANet wanted to jump on the lootbox bandwagon, right as everyone was starting to realize how bad it is.

Wow.... so thoughtful and kind........ suggesting that we should be allowed to just buy them but for inflated prices........................ not all heroes wear capes. Some pay $120+ USD and suck up to ANet.
-
I even thought they were actual mounts, despite knowing all about the skins. When I first saw stuff about the Mount Adoption License I thought it was like...... a special mount rental? Like you could rent mounts with cool skins, and it worked like a voucher where you could pick which one you wanted. Still somehow better than what it actually is. :/

I'm amazed that no one has replied to _this_ one.
As someone who does collect trading cards, I got tired of relying on RNG to get a certain card, so guess what I did. _I bought a single online._ For like the same price as a booster pack, I bought the exact card I wanted.

I agree that there should be options to hide obnoxious things that may even cause performance problems for some people, but you know the people that just spent $120 USD to get all the skins will make a stink because they Worked So Hard to get them.
-
EDIT: Nevermind
-
And apparently you can get the griffon skins even if you don't have the griffon, so I've been told. Just spent hundreds or thousands of gems and got a sweet griffon skin? Go pay 250g more and do a bunch of other crap in order to use it. As my partner said, "There's something particularly Heinous about that."

Well it seems like a lot of people are fed up and refuse to spend more money now, so although they may have gotten a huge chunk of money right away, they'll likely see a drop off that's greater than what they're used to.
-
Honestly I've always felt pretty loyal to this game since I first took part in the beta, but this is one of those things that makes me shake my head and actually consider (no matter how briefly) just leaving it behind. Making skins only purchasable in the gem store, sure whatever. But making yet another loot box/gamble item that's already overpriced? Black Lion Chest Keys are 150 each. These are 400? Why?
There's ways to make money with a cash shop that aren't morally corrupt. This isn't one of them. Extremely disappointed in ANet today, and equally disappointed in anyone that falls for this trap.
-
Actually I think it's usually around 8 their time, since it's usually 9 for me, and I'm in Mountain Time. But I guess it can vary.
-
It really doesn't make sense to have some pieces of an armour set be obtainable in different game modes. I can see how some sets can fully only be obtained in PvP or WvW (like the Triumphant Hero stuff), but not random pieces.
-
To be fair, some games have a "no enemies attack you" 'status', usually with some penalties. FFXIV has a stealth for gathering classes, that stops enemies from attacking them if they come within range, but the catch is that they can only walk and never jog or sprint. It's slow, but it lets you safely do non-combat things.
And doesn't GTA Online have a passive mode? I think you can still get run over or something, but otherwise enemy players can't kill you (but you can't kill them either). It does exist in games, but not as a "remove aggro" button but more like a "enable and don't get attacked by enemies after" button.

Do you.......... really only think one girl plays this, or are you just trolling so more people are more likely to care about your thread.

Are we... playing the same game? My partner and I queue up for dungeons every now and then for certain skins or whatever, and it takes no longer than 5 minutes to get enough people. Every time.
People don't need dungeon path dailies to get groups for dungeons. It's called LFG.

Well I don't know about you, but my hat doesn't automatically get replaced with a rebreather if I jump in a lake irl. Does that make me vain?
-
There hasn't been anything new to the dungeons in years, and they're the Group Content I prefer doing the most (I have no interest in raids, and only did fractals for a weapon skin).

"Guys and girl". There's only one.

Hi I've been playing the game since the beta. Is that long enough for you?

No offense m8, but you said "ANet fix it" so any response from anyone that isn't ANet probably won't satisfy you. Maybe open a support ticket or something, since us players clearly can't fix it for you besides saying "git gud" or "tough turtles".

Except it would be nice to, oh I don't know, maybe acquire them some other way by like, uh......... hm................... maybe _playing the game_? Instead of just buying them? Cut to early 2018 when ANet announces the new legendary weapons are skins in the gem store for 10,000 gems each. Why get those through playing when you can just chaching it into your inventory.
