This. I've heard mesmer is awful to level, so that could be an option.

Guardian is my favorite class for PvE.

Revenant is pretty diverse, but not the greatest at any one thing.

Warriors are always a good choice, wanted in both PvE and PvP, high health, diverse weapon choices.

Engineer is a well rounded class as well with their kits. Both of their elite specs are pretty fun, too.

Necro is great in OW and PvP, but not the most sought after for PvE.

Edit: Sorry, forgot you already has a mesmer.

You don't have time to make a new character, and take them into the PvP lobby to mess around with them for a few minutes? It is all playing a game, what is so important at level 80 that you can't test a few classes?

Which he prob won't, his shtick is mmos in general, don't think he would sacrifice that for a single good mmo. Look at WP he is arguably one of the best gw2 content creators and he survives partially because of Anet BUT also because of his patreon donators.

He started out as a WoW streamer, so it's not out of his range to stick with one game, but at this point, he has moved to reviewing new MMOs for the most part. I like his videos, it I do t think he would make a good partner. He has three GW2 videos since he started years ago. Yeah, he has followers, and his last video on GW2 was positive, but he doesn't have the content for this game, and I dont think he wants to stick with only one game. His most played game in the past two years was BDO, and he doesn't really have THAT many videos for it.

I assume you mean in MMOs, because I can think of hundreds of games that had great graphics, and awesome gameplay.

Everyone is taking the OP too literally. I didn't take away that he really thought peon should be a partner, it seemed more like a joke, while also pointing out his latest GW2 video, but I could be wrong.

Lol, I guess we should only pay attention to players that devote all of their time to playing only GW2. Just because he found the game slow in the past, and because he will eventually play other games, doesn't mean what he has to say is moot. His channel is based around trying out new MMOs, and giving his opinion. Some of his older videos were childish, back when he was a child. If you took the time to watch his latest videos, like the one in the OP, you would see he is older, and more mature. Honestly, though, even when he was a bit annoying, his videos gave some good information about the game he was trying out.

  8. We dont need to force a new race for the sake of pretty human-like races. If you cant deal with human or norn, this game may not be the one for you. I don't think you should speak for others either. I have one human out of ten slots. I like the Sylvari, and my two most played characters are Sylvari. We do t have gnomes/dwarves either, but asurans fill that roll. I like the races we have in this game, because outside of humans, this game is quite unique with its races.

Before PvP/WvW reward tracks, dungeons were not optional either. Legendary collections require fractals so I guess all players are required to play fractals.

There's a big difference between rewards and content otherwise Anet can just release a massive collection instead of a living world episode and consider that content to last the next 2-3 months.

I am simply saying don't make jps requirements. Let's be honest here. Skins are pretty much the whole thing in gw2 and by requiring jps to get them Anet made platforming a whole lot more important than they ever were in the original game.

For example, I wouldn't want to play the first 3 dragon age games and then have the fourth turned into an assassins creed gameplay style. While not as dramatic, gw2 has increased the importance of platforming.

    >

It's no use arguing with this guy. Obviously completing things like collections doesn't count as meaningful content to him. We ask for a dial back to how launch was, he claims a huge chunk of content is optional. This game is more than just doing the story, as a matter of fact, the most popular portion of endgame is skin collecting, but that doesn't matter. I'm done trying to present another point of view while someone else solidifies what we already know, you should join me.

There aren't always mesmers, and some people might have a tick, requiring them to finish dailies. I've known a few people I could never game with, because they had to harvest/open/complete everything.

    >

    > So this is an honest question ... Do you believe that because a few people do not enjoy optional jumping puzzles, that they should be removed, so no one can enjoy them? Otherwise, what are you proposing?

I dont remember seeing a request for removal. It seems more like the OP wants fewer as dailies, or as part of fractals, or map completion. No one said get rid of existing ones.

I always follow the melee/ranged setup where I can. One example of its benefits, I've been leveling a new revenant, and when fighting level 35-40 bandit enemies, some of them have lots of explosives that detonate at proximity, so staying away from them is key. The most obvious is world events, and tagging as much as possible in order to get gold rewards.

Some of the coolest interactions I've had in any game came back in vanilla/BC WoW. I used to love running into someone from the opposite faction, standing there watching them watch me, giving a salute, then proceeding to help (and be helped) by that player. There was inevitable AoE damage given or taken, but it was almost always followed by a /sorry.

    > > For the record, I think that an option to scale a higher level party member down to the level of another party member is a good idea. But I think that it may be difficult to implement, and that Anet may question the need for it, as there is already another form of level scaling in game already. So it's good that you're working around the issue.

    >

    > This post wasn't about asking for solutions from the community but a general problem I've had with the game for a while that was exacerbated by having the new friends join. A thing that will remain a problem if they all make 3 or 4 characters and I join them as they level several alts over the next several months. But anet will never do anything if people don't talk ideas or make suggestions.

Even scaled down, you have more stats than someone else at the level you are scaled to. The zones below level 80 are made to suit the average player, wearing gear possibly 10+ levels below their own. The best thing to do is wear only body gear and weapons. If it's still too easy, drop to weapons only. After that, you just need to bite the bullet and suffer through the easy, or start a new character to play with your friends.

The only reason I was interested in that game was because it was advertised as F2P a year ago. Then it went to a B2P model at $30, so I decided to wait. Turns out they took two years to do nothing but a bad translation. No optimization improvements, basically no combat improvements. So glad I wasn't that invested in that game.
