  1. Addon? I know GW2 has had a forward or deferred renderer cmd line option but I am not familiar with any selectrenderer.

Yes. It's the same as sPvP and people grouping. They get an advantage, they win. But then incidently... they are more and more likely to meet other such groups. We dont have the details because the system doesnt exist, but we know the idea behind of it and this particular aspect has nothing to do with what Anet is addressing or solving - it's all on players. And the idea isnt that players create just one supreme alliance to win over everything. It's that there is 20, 30, 40+ alliances. If you think players *wont* go creating a ton of tiny alliances because *they* think they are the best and everyone else suck, just look at the guilds today. Why dont they just leave their own guilds and create a single 500 man guild that dominate everything?

But there is a high risk that it could kill the game mode finally, instead of revitalizing it. Except what you describe as a critical flaw is... well... *competition*. Not even if only a single alliance exist would this be an issue - that's only 1 out of 4-5 matchups. And the worlds fighting them would still be the "best" among zero-alliance worlds by way of the matchup tiers (assuming the alliance world is top server).

(B) NPCs in WvW don't have active mechanics that can remove condition damage types like players can do with condition cleanse or when they use Resistance boon (which reduce time that an active condition will be able to do damage for each tick it is active) There are some NPCs can heal up again rather fast instead, but in general it is avoid (A). > > NPCs role in WvW is to act as for blocking taking objectives too fast in WvW and let defending players have some time to get there or at least to when there is a fight around an objective that defenders or attacker will need to kill NPCs and wait for timer to end before it is owned by the other server. If there is a group of players and all have increased percentage or damage reduction from Infusion this would also scale very fast to make NPC even less of an obstacle. Defiance bar block direct damage until it is broken, but condition damage can still tick even during phases when it have been locked (depending on source of attack being a projectile or a an ground based AoE for how condition damage are applied). Direct damage are much more depending on breaking a Defiance bar then condition based builds. Or an even simpler reason, that type of buff is incapable of adding condi dmg and Anet still hasnt figured out how to change it. Its either or. How do we know this this? Because of impact savant. It work on "strike damage" ie the same "damage" this infusion does. When Anet deleted the condi scrapper build, they promised they would look into a way to fix it so that it could generate barrier from conditions too, not only power. And here we are, 2 years later. **BECAUSE PURITY OF PURPOSE**. Now, if there is a skill that does this on another class, we know that instead of Anet being incapable of fixing it, they're just giving the middle finger and a kitten you to scrappers.

  7. It'd be funny if everyone switched to DH and relied on other sources for support. Can you imagine the meta *hell* of zergs with ~15-20 trappers dumping spinning swords everywhere? Oh look an enemy zerg lets pu**FWOOOMP** *25 people instantly died from traps the enemy zerg already has off cooldown*.

For example Intel's Atom, with latest release around 2012. Also, the main "problem" with that is the operating system, not the CPU, as Microsoft still releases 32 bit OS, so someone might have a perfectly capable x64 CPU but cannot run a native x64 application because they use 32 bit Windows 8 Well Windows 8 doesnt support DX12 either. Yet I'm pretty sure there are still people running 32bit Windows 7. As I said, obsolete tech rarely go away fast. At some point, developers have to say... "acceptable losses".

Fun slightly related fact: The last x86 desktop CPU released in 2002, but in 2012 GW2 still didnt have an x64 client. It wasnt until 2016 that they released that. So yeah... "obsolete" tech is rarely going away fast.
  10. Oh please, this is GW2. Every PvP match should be preceeded by a random jumping puzzle. Problem solved.

Looks funny and harmless, but in a game with PvP that is a bannable offense as it can easily give an advantage. Not that we need glowing skins since everyone already look like walking glowsticks but you get the idea.

We can't buff our team with 25 stacks of might nor do we have powerful boons like alacrity or quickness to share. I think an elite spec focused on boon support would be a great addition to engineer so we can finally fill the space of the healing support in these environments. Great addition to the engineer, horrible addition to a game where AoE boon support is destroying balance in WvW and making PvE a hollow shell of just having all the boons all the time. But I digress.

I enjoy WvW for what it is - the strategical aspect of holding or sieging objectives, the tactical aspect of combat both small and large. If you want only fighting then nothing is stopping you. But it doesnt seem like you just want fights, you want fair dueling no matter the size of forces. So I will refer to my original reply far above.

Healing modifiers got cut in half. Yes that includes purity of purpose, which saw a 50-75% reduction in boon durations. And yet the scrapper is more common than ever. This alone should tell you it is a global problem. Even deleting it would do nothing, other classes pick up the slack because they are equally as strong or stronger. > Purity of Purpose is a problem. Even when the boons it creates have only a 1 second base duration, the group mechanic of this trait is too strong. > > Scourge has a similar mechanic, but it works only on the scourge. Image how ridiculous scourge would be if it could share the effect of Feed from Corruption with its group (even at reduced durations). > > Long story short: Purity of Purpose should just work for the engineer itself, but not for the group. The boon durations should increase slightly as a compensation of course. And what I said earlier was *"what should happen is blanket nerf on AoE boons and boon duration for all classes, all sigils, all runes"*. Which is again why its silly to focus on purity of purpose and engineer. Yes it includes purity of purpose. They could delete pop for all I care. But need to happen for **all** classes. The reason meta boonballs are practically immune isnt at all because of purity of purpose, its because AoE boons is pumped into the zerg from other classes like a firehose gone rouge. Comparing the scourge too since the meta scourge traits a baby version of pop, where they remove a condition and grant might to allies. Why does that exist? Why does it remove a condition *and* grant might? Just another example of Anets machinegun design to skills - a skill cant possibly do 1 thing, it has to do 2 or 3 or 4 and preferably be combined with another trait to do 5. This is the core flaw of GW2 combat and has been since they powercreeped HoT to hell.

  18. > @"Sansar.1302" said: > Wonder why you cant have 6 vs 5 in spvp... No I dont wonder that since sPvP is all about outmanouvering your enemy so you can win points (more often than not by outnumbering them on that point). Should we wonder why the winning team never forfeit the match because they are dominating the enemy and a win would be unfair and dumb?
  19. > @"Sansar.1302" said: > i rather get destoyed in 1v1, 2v2 etc than win a 4 vs 3 as winning with more numbers is dumb and realy not a win at all Yeah, you go do you then. I'd like to see you meet a melee weaver, condi rev and support scrapper top-of-the-server guild group and still somehow argue that yes, together with xXLegolasXx over there as a core level 72 ranger in green gear and a dog pet as well as HulkBoy on the other side as a hammer firebrand in full soldiers, this is exactly enough numbers to fight them, anything else would be **unfair** so others should stay away or the fight becomes **dumb**. I find it an absolutely ridiculous statement thats rejecting reality so hard its unbelievable. Also, how exactly do you reconcile this line of thought if the fight is 3v4, then the outnumbered kills 2 and the fight become a 3v2. Did it become unfair and the fight is now dumb and not really a win at all if they beat them? How does that even work?

Yet the blob that wins is often the one that has 50 million necros so that they can bomb the enemy blob into oblivion in seconds. Even if they deleted the scrapper, you would either see: A ) More AoE healing, more stab and boons, about as much stealth (couple more mesmers, a portion of scrappers would be replaced by tempests again and others would be firebrands) B ) More condi damage (with less cleansing sustain, zergs would go more red carpet of death). Yay...? What should happen is blanket nerf on AoE boons and boon duration for all classes, all sigils, all runes. Add a blanket nerf to all passive and basic AoE healing as well and instead strengthen combo fields, like how it was in GW2 vanilla. But no. It's the eeeeeeevil scrappers fault! **Because Purity Of Purpose**. Lets just also completely ignore the kitten firebrand that *dominate* zerg support.

Imagine you run with a friend across the map. You find 2 players doing the same. What are these two players doing? Precisely! The run away. If it happens once, ok. I also sometimes dodge fights. But if this happens again and again, one may slowly ask "what the heck am I playing?". It gets weirder when I lose my wing-man and suddenly find myself attacked by the same 2 players who dodged us before. The biggest question is why people would ever consider this the biggest question. A player in WvW doesnt automatically equal another player no matter how much people believe it. There's been plenty of times where I've been running in a 2 man group and meeting 2 enemies that stand no chance, they just get crushed. And similarly there's been plenty of times where we've met another 2 man group that we stand no chance at winning against. Whether it be the perfect class or build counter combo or if it's skill is completely irrevelevant. And yes, *of course* the groups that we need 4v2 to beat is often the same groups that will whisper and go *"boohoo you kitten suck you come fight us with equal numbers you noobs"* because people have absolutely **zero** respect for their own skill.
