If I imagine I was playing shortbow renegade instead of reaper... ridiculous! That's like punching 5 year old kids. Pick a target and blew it up. And the difference between those setups is that one group pewpew from range while the enemy group simple res whoever is downed and the other group do so much AoE its impossible to get close to a downed thus securing the kill (and probably killing anyone ressing while they are at it).
  3. It's not a great source of ascended drops because we already have all ascended/legendary armor and weapon and trinkets :(

  6. > @"Jski.6180" said: > Massive nerfs to wvw conversion both for boons to condi and condis to boons. There just no good reason in wvw even spvp where you can have every condi and boon type just because you have an conversion effect. Boon trains with all boons for an eternity was meta before scrapper boon conversion was meta. What makes you think nerfing it would change anything?

The matchmaker is doing a good job in most cases. Which really doesnt matter, because the scoring system is still fucked up. Its the primary reason people quit sPvP - its been the reason ever since ranked was added. People can whine over classes on the forum all day long, if the mode itself is fucked it doesn't matter. You can have a *good match* that was a hard fight between equally skilled opponents and... loose so much points its unrecoverable unless you win the next 3 matches in a row. Given that many won't even run that many matches in a row if they are into more casual PvP, whats even the point of **trying**? Loose 2-500 or loose 498-500, same thing the game says you suck heres equal penalties for it.
  8. Well dungeons, raids and fractals are basicly the same thing too. I also find them boring, but they are only tedious if there are people not bringing PvE builds. Or a brain for that matter. 2 people with good dps will breeze through a DRM... I've seen 5 people take 3x the time to kill things.
  9. Both classes are meta zergers, condi rev is one strongest roamers due to torment runes. Necro has seen a *massive* revival as of late in smallscale too, reaper + lockdown tempest seem to be the new small guild meta. So pick your poison. You want all classes for WvW anyway.
  10. > @"Messenger.7450" said: > Agree to disagree, my position is that the Snowden Drifts DRM needs to be re-examined and tweaked to match the other DRMs. The other DRM CMs provide an adequate enough challenge IMHO to be worth their achievements, but Snowden Drifts DRM goes too far in difficulty. I find snowden to be the easiest. The mob groups melt, the halfway "elite" isnt even a threat, ryland is extremely basic (dodge/block the big circle and stand in melee range in front when it rain) and the 3 champions cant even be classed as champions. But I suppose CM make it a little harder.
  11. > @"Konig Des Todes.2086" said: > It likely that in small scale joint operations, a centurion would take temporary command over another legion's legionnaire (and by extension, a warband or two). Unless that legionnaire is a lone survivor, I think the warband would seek out one of their own legion centurions for orders rather than listening to another legion, unless already ordered by a superior officer to follow the commands of that legion. The only way I see a Charr "taking command" over other legion warbands in battle would be if they have alot of respect for that Charr as a warrior... so we are probably looking at tribunes or above to begin with. A random centurion from another legion wont be well known. But then again anything can happen on the battlefield. Hell even Rytlock became the commanders bitch.
  12. > @"Crono.4197" said: > Also you expect a 2012 game to have 2021 games graphics? Well to be fair on that part, ESO isnt a 2021 game. It is however a few years newer than GW2 vanilla and I would say that a more fair comparison is GW2 HoT vs ESO vanilla, or GW2 PoF vs ESO later expansions. ESO was definetly backed by more funding from the start too. Guesses has been somewhere around 50%+ more money than GW2 development pumped into it, I think.

One thing that we do agree on is the flashy luminous colour nonsense that always seems to creep into MMO's. Also I personally hate pet's in MMO's. You find yourself in a boss fight and it's more like a pet scrap. > > Maybe this was why you needed to explain yourself. So you dont like the style of GW2. That's fine. I dont like the style of ESO. In particular I found Cyrodiil poorly made with completely wrong scaling/proportions on pretty much all assets (its like the devs put a normal sized character next to a normal scaled bridge and said **"This doesnt look EPIC enough, make it BIGGER and GRANDER!"** *sets scaling to 2.0*) and the overall visuals seem to vary between greyish brown to brownish grey. And that's before you get into janky animations and laggy combat ruining any kind of immersion. > > Nope. My original post was about GW2 graphics in general. What you quote is a spinoff. I'm not saying GW2 should look like ESO, they are two different art styles and belong where they belong. My original post was basically saying that GW2's graphics are showing their age. What you're doing is deflecting. Your original post is saying *how you feel* and that post where you "dont need to explain yourself" says everything else. Do you have any actual examples how GW2 graphics is showing it's age compared to eqvivalent things in ESO? I mean aside from the art styles being different since that obviously doesnt matter, as you say. Or the fact that ESO is a slightly newer game with a much larger studio backing it.
  14. I'm sure a Blood legion centurion could *try* to lead some Iron and Ash warbands. You'd just never see him again as you ask his Iron and Ash legion replacements what happened. A centurion is a fairly low ranking Charr. Keep in mind a warband is only like a dozen Charr. Tribunes command the centurions, imperators command the tribunes. An imperator would be the only one that can *ask* another imperator to send his warbands somewhere. And if they agree maybe a tribune could lead different legion warbands, but I'm fairly certain each centurion would be from respective legion. Only the ~~Charr Jesus~~ Khan-Ur would have the authority to command all the Charr.

  16. ... We already had broader trait selection at the cost of depth. Anet changed it to the current system where you have less options but get the full tree for free. They aint gonna change it back.
  17. What does your territory has to do with someone revealing/marking you?
  18. Imagine if you bought a $50,000 car, drive it for 10 years, buy a new car and go back to the first dealer arguing *"I want my $50,000 refunded, this car is worthless to me now that I have a new car!"* Pretty sure you'd get laughed out the door.
  19. > @"vicky.9751" said: > For some reason the graphics in this game can have a **pixelated** look to them, and i am not running on low or anything. I have turned off depth blur as well. Not sure what the issue is. I suspect the issue is that the screen you have is using pixels to show the graphics.
  20. > @"ArchonWing.9480" said: > Oh sorry, I actually think being rage whispered is funny because it usually means you did something right. Usually? Was it ever *not* something you did right? My favorite ones are the *[90% of the times whispering thieves]* players that are pretty damn good or bring a very good build, the type of player that anyone have a problem 1v1 against and you basicly **need** 2+v1 to confidently beat... and then they go on a whisper tirade about how everyone is a noob and you need others to beat them and all the insults under the moon, etc. Absolutely zero perspective and respect for their own skills. That just makes us have zero respect for them and every following encounter we will do our utmost to CC them to death with overwhelming numbers.

Seems sylvari is the clear winner, so now I just have to fiddle around in the character creator for ages until I can get a color scheme I'm happy with... * Remembers how many colors are available for the mixing and matching * This...might take a while. Given how cheap it is to change the look you dont *really* need to get your character perfect the first time. Asura is the master race though. Playing a walking cabbage, bleh. But then again it beats human I guess. Not everyone can be born with excellence.

Koda is basicly the original Kodan man-bear-thing. > > > > Now, whether that bear kittened a spider and made dragons I'll leave to your imagination. > > I don't think Koda is ever gendered in game is he? I know they refer to them as a he in the The Wisdom and Power of the Kodan which they wrote before the game even released, but I'm pretty sure much like Jormag they dev's avoid ever gendering them in game and use they/them. Some random dialogues: *Deep Song: Koda's will is rage! Koda's will is destruction!* *Kodan Defender: Koda tests the Voice. His rage consumes her. The Time of Trial is upon us.* *Flamebearer: Fire made other spirits sad, and Koda was not pleased. He demanded that we guide the spirit, teach it where to go.* But the most telling IMO... *Player: Who is Koda?* *Watchful Moon: Koda is the primal spirit who guides all kodan. His representatives, the Claw and the Voice, are chosen to receive and interpret his wishes. In this camp, we have no Claw, no Voice. We are just ourselves.*

You can say yes... the server can say no. Desync happen constantly. My best example is still pulling someone in, trying to hit him and then hitting air, followed by him teleporting 2000+ distance. As I proclaimed *"wtf I pulled him?!"* my guildmates was like *"eh no you didn't, he ran off"*.

Thank you. Well then, aside from testing then there is another tiny problem with it... I dont think think those speed buffs stack. Which means that most of the time (in particular keeps) you already have +25% speed in friendly territory, exceeding your +20% speed.
