    > There's literally no difference in personal bags with and without trinkets. With trinkets on though, only the first 5 people to hit a mob get loot. So really, you're just saying 'I'm going to be a quaggan and kitten everyone else, to no personal gain'

No, not that. I'm too slow to stay in the front getting the loot.

What I'm saying is that the theory is crap, because A: there's no way to enforce it, and B: it's in every player's self-interest to let OTHER people do it, but to personally choose to NOT do it.

It's a very similar problem to the one communism and socialism have as economic philosophies: they only work if everybody lives to the ideal. But, human nature gets in the way, because there will always be people who will abuse the others' good will.

    > They didn't always work like this, so if you're coming back to LS3 maps with characters that played there when the were "recent" there may be some hinkyness, but it will fall in line as hearts are completed.

The third bullet isn't correct. Every zone I've been in that had repeatable hearts flashes them if I need them again today. Hero challenges are inconsistent, but hearts are 100%

  3. I've given a little thought to the "take off your trinkets" thing, and it would seem to only work if EVERYBODY does it.

Further, I don't get any different results when I'm in a squad or not. I get less if I follow the rules. So, I'm calling the whole lawyered-up squad thing bunk.

If I'm in a squad, I follow the rules. But, none have ever said "no trinkets". (And, I will immediately leave if one ever does. I'm playing for ME, not some commune of players.)

    > So you don't do too much damage and kill mobs too quickly. This way you are giving other people a chance to tag mobs as well, it's way too common for people to use mounts to go ahead of the rest of the group and use engage skill. Irritating as hell if you want to tag something and get loot.

    OK, thanks.

I have such slow reaction times that I'm always at the back of the pack anyhow. (I just started my seventh decade on this planet ….)

Except this would be trivial to implement. Just have some of the instances run at different rates.

In fact, not only is it trivial, they probably have already done it! They had to originally find the right tuning to make it the difficulty it is now. It's a near certainty that they didn't guess at the right speed the first time they tried; thus, that must have already created instances with different timings.

But, my question you answered in the second half. I would phrase it differently, but that wording might get me infracted. So, let's just say that I don't think of them very highly.

  6. It only makes sense to check the squad commander's map for fullness, because there could be many people in the squad on different maps.

So, how about a border around the squad leader's square that's colored red or green? That would also make it so you don't have to hunt for the squad leader to right-click/join map. It could be updated whenever a map's population changes.

    That's an absurdly wrong statement.

I call them mains if they're not mules. And, I'm active on all of them at least a time or two a month each. But, I will say that I'm not ready to buy any more character slots just now. :)

Nah. I just spend a lot of time playing.

  10. There are no new (PvE) achievement points to be had in festivals for people who have been here a long time. We're already capped.

Clearly there's a huge problem when not a single person in the world is able to get a whole armor skin set in over six years. They're not rewards any more; they're carrots hanging on the end of a stick, hoping to get us to stay the course, with no real intention to give out rewards. It absolutely stinks to high heaven. Even if I had the best skills in the world, there's no way I could have earned those rewards.

What promise is there for an average, but extremely loyal player? Our loyalty is stepped on and squashed to a pulp. But, at least I thought there was a reason: all the pro-cap people kept telling us it was so new players can catch up. I knew it wasn't right, but at least it sounded like a valid argument. But, that is now proven absolutely false. There is no hope whatsoever for a normal player to EVER achieve a full radiant set.

No wonder ANet has never made a statement on the subject. It sickening, and they know it! But, they don't care.
