ANYTHING is better than nothing. But, to drop by 90% all at once is too much (IMO). I think they should drop it progressively from 10 down to 1, rather than all the way at once.

But, I would also try to do some math and figure out what that means for veterans who've been capped for a while. Perhaps make the first cap at 5000, dropping to 9 per day. Then @ 8000 drop it to 8, 10,000 drop to 7, etc.

Then, when it hits one, make a higher number of dailies be required in order to get the 1 AP.

  2. Oh, and (thanks for the idea, AgentMoore) it would be a good idea to add more dailies when this happens. Give people more options (and require more of them), so that more maps can get better populated than now.

For example, add the daily LS maps to the daily for-reward "dailies". Metas on certain maps (like, rotate through the HoT and PoF maps as well as LS maps). Put the dungeons in the list more often. Have 20, 30, maybe more things in the list, rather than just the 12 today.

Another way my diminishing returns idea would work is by requiring the capped to do more dailies. Takes 4 or 5 or 6 dailies to get the laurel reward rather than the three that other folks can do. In fact, just keep giving out the (uncapped) rewards, but keep raising the amount you have to do to get them once you hit certain thresholds. It's like diminishing returns from the supply side.

  3. Living Story Season (LSS) 3 map currencies can get you all the trinkets, back armor, and breathers. Difluorite Crystals (Sandswept Isles) and Mistborn Motes (Dragonfall, mentioned by another player above) in LSS4 can get you trinkets. All of those are stat-selectable. (Inscribed Shards from Domain of Kourna also get you trinkets, but only plaguedoctor stats, and those aren't very useful.) The other three LSS4 currencies don't grant any ascended gear.

Doing the 10 swimming missions every 10 days for a few months can get you a breather.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_armor has a list of places you can earn some of the armor pieces. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_weapon can point you to places for weapons.

But, crafting and Fractals are the EASIEST ways.

  4. As I've said dozens of times, diminishing returns is how they should have "capped" it when the cap was first instantiated. A flat cap cannot be justified either mathematically or in game terms. I support ANY rise in the cap, but I would recommend diminishing returns rather than a flat rise in the number. Unfortunately, it would be really hard to implement either a raised cap or even diminishing returns now, due to the large time-gap between people hitting the cap and now. So, I don't think it will happen, even though it absolutely SHOULD happen.

Right now, it is physically impossible for me to attain a full set of radiant armor, something I strove for early in the game's life. The cap almost got me to quit, but I stuck to it because I still like the game. I'm sitting somewhere near 29,000, but still need more than 7,000 to get it, and there aren't 7,000 even available to me (I never touch PvP or raids, and only do limited WvW.)

It saddens me that that armor set is out of my reach, but I'll continue to play the game anyhow. (I will say that it has caused me to spend slightly less money in the gem store, though, if anybody from ANet cares.)

  5. It turns out I am running out of things to spend those currencies on. I have ascended trinkets on all my twenty-seven characters now. So, I would like to request that they add more things to buy, like minis or novelties.

But, I also support your thoughts in principle. I think there should be a cost though. The candy corn node is a great example. Get the basic one for one set of actions, and get the larger one for another set. Collections (or other sets of actions) with upgraded nodes as the reward would be a welcome addition.

  6. She has all Yassith's gear (viper) and soulbeast (condi and power) runes. She uses dagger/dagger primarily, and wields a shortbow for distance stuff. The character will be doing some limited other PvE, but no WvW or PvP at all. Mostly she will be dedicated T4 (and maybe CM) fractals.

Some of the details are questions for me:

On the daggers, your thoughts on the first sigil being agony (bleeding) vs. venom (poison).

How about the other sigil: bursting or malice?

    Or, maybe some other combination?

On the shortbow, thoughts on agony vs. bursting vs. malice? (Poison is only on one skill on the bow, so it seems a waste.)

Should the infusions be all condi, all expertise, some combination of those, or something else?

Finally, with the party having both alacrity and healing specialists already, is it worth putting on a couple of healing runes for myself or not?

  7. I have 27 mains. Only about half of them have even one elite at this point. 6 have both elites.

I tend to play elites if that character has earned one. They're all significantly more powerful than the base profession. I wish that weren't true, though. I would like to see the base professions buffed to match the power curves of the elites, but without changing the nature of the profession.

  8. Three things related to luck:

First, give us more ways to get rid of luck once we're capped. Is there a reason there isn't a luck buyer during all the other festivals?

Second, give us a way to turn in the 50 luck letters received when a character finishes the last tier 1 storyline mission.

Third, give us some new recipes for 500 luck (2 for 5 exotic luck). Higher amounts would be appreciated as well, as long as number one above is changed as well.

  9. I'm hoping for the ability to craft cosmetic upgrades, similar to legendary effects, but from a more canned list.

Also, it would be nice to be able to craft infusions. Currently, you must do either fractals or WvW in order to obtain them.

Then, restore them to their original values when the character leaves the mission. That would allow all characters to know that their message at least got to the recipient.

    >

    > I turn chat off specifically to avoid getting spoiled during story missions, which this is. Got the ending of All or Nothing spoiled because some guy felt like yelling the ending out in map chat, and since then, I just decided to turn all chat off during my first playthrough of all story missions.

I can see that, but which is the lesser of two evils? Potential to spoil or failure due to people having chat turned off?
