Our wonderful systems team never did get around to part 2 and 3 of walking back some of the power creep. I suppose the influx of WvW participants has convinced them stand-in-a-clump meta is super popular.

But the point was, it was impossible to get out of them with clenses or damage. Damage did work, but by the time you destroy the roots with minstrel's damage, you're already dead.
