But you can still use existing items and accounts you have, you just need to only purchase through either steam or the retail you cannot do both.. Which is still better than what we have here.

    > For me, it would be fine if they had to restrict gem purchases through the gem store only and not through steam if the percentage cut that steam takes is not worth it. Other MMOs that I have played through steam do this. However, all of those allow existing accounts to login to the game client through steam still, so it seems odd that they can't allow this option. Maybe it's something to do with the way the game client has been coded. The only MMO that I have played so far which hasn't allowed existing accounts to play through the steam game client also is FFXIV.

No a few Jrpg mmos have also tried this route to block existing customers and did very badly in Steam because of it, Maple Story 2 died..

As i said to another the store web pages sell currencies straight through steam, in the customers own currency, not USD, so it bypasses the conversion rates. So in turn its cheaper on the customers outside of America to use the steam version. It has no effect on which launcher you use.

    > Why would the Gem Store differ just beause you are launching the game via Steam instead of via the ANet game launcher?

    >

    > Are you expecting Gems to be sold outside of the game, on Steam? If so, Steam knows where you are located and you still pay in your own currency, i.e. more than Americans (I know this from tons of other Steam online games).

Steam sells currencies of mmo's on the games store page, which has to be put on as the countries converted currency, which bypasses the games, which in turn bypasses the conversion rates. All mmorpgs have it on steam you buy subscriptions and mmo currencies..

Yep seems strange to me to limit so many customers because of Gems, i assume its a steam Gems thing as Fallout 76 has that issue.. 5. Also the reason i prefer jackal over raptor is its survivability its almost impossible to die on a jackal.. enemies attack teleport through them, fall off as high as you want teleport just before hitting the ground.. the distance it teleports is almost as far as the raptor jumps and jackal can teleport multiples times..

I have no idea what people see in that slow helicopter mount, when we have a jet plane mount..

    > The demo skyscale must not have all of its abilities unlocked (I don't remember!). Either that or you didn't give it a chance. It is very clearly faster and more versatile in every possible way with the only exception being the griffon's dive maneuver. If it can't use that, the skyscale is simply better: faster, higher vertical flight, ability to hover and fly indefinitely, ability to climb walls. And as I said, the skyscale's ability to do all of that actually compliments the griffon, even while it replaces it. If you want to get to higher ground to make better use of your griffon, the skyscale is generally the best way to do that!

    > But enough talk. Here's a video that will quickly demonstrate the basic idea of the skyscale and make it immediately obvious that it can do things that the other mounts simply can't.

I can do all that with my Gryphon and bunny just as fast and not spend weeks farming like a Korean e-sports nut to get it.. Honestly imo the Gryphon out performs the Skyscale 100%, yes the demo had less skills but it was still atrocious to use..

    > The test skyscales have a really poor set of skills around dragonfall. No cliff jump. You really dont get the full functionality. I would often times default to Springer it was so much better for climbing around dragonfall. Once I got Skyscale fully trained is when it really starts to shine.

    >

    > It's interesting, because I have never gotten the griffon. Partly because of the huge price tag, but also for the same reason as Dante... that test version of the Griffon that I was flying around spearmarshals refuge sucked! I could not get the feel for it. Some of these comments make me reconsider getting it...

I must say though the test versions were bad on both but the Gryphon was less poor than the skyscale.. The quest for the skyscale imo was 100 times more pain than my Gryphon and to be honest now that i've mastered my gryphons flying mechanics its so amazing what i can do with it, HoT maps are breeze with the gryphon. Also you can stay in the air for ages if you flap at 75% not 100% stamina.

  7. Also my second most used mounts are the Jackal and Bunny. I have all the other mounts..
