  1. i mean, i honestly have no idea if roamers ever really group up on voice. maybe some thief or other roamerguilds (yeah, those exist afaik) do that even. i'd not wonder if ones like Envy, SA, ninja asura club, are on voice. ExYu probably is, and i think to know that they only recently entered Wvw, while beeing spvpers originally. they run with 20-25 ppl sometimes of full roamerbuilds (guess spvp builds). and then there's this infamous thief guild of NA i think, who do or did paid comm sniping? doubt that works without some voice coordination. would be a slackery if they'd do gold-paid "work" without voice coordination. last point: it works probs good against a pugzerg, but not anymore against a pug blob. size matters, and if only 10/50 get spike dmg off, that's enough to sevenshot the thief zerg.

  3. guardian has some important skills that aren't FB exclusive. we would simply have to find a working build, but it makes no real sense to think about it. the complaints about sustain are just from smallscale players and ppt'ers... everyone who knows how to press their damage gets a firebrand down like anything else. @"Jugglemonkey.8741" the first problem there is that thieves are usually having no experience with coordinated movement. half of them would attack too early, and 10 more would die in the first enemy bomb fields.... we had a 15ish enemy theif group trying sth alike (not only DE i think), but they wiped completely for 2-3 kills constantly. they killed some pugs during blobfights... impressive. or nah, those woulda died anyways. @"ugrakarma.9416" old misleading thing, u can get exotic minstrels extremly easy in Wvw. currently hoarding 17+2 triumphant warlords armor boxes and even some ascended armor boxes that would be possible to convert stats. weapons are provided by the obsidian boxes. rune of the monk takes way longer (reward track) than the minstrel gear for new players, but on pluspoints, after u got those, you can equip two supports likely ;P @"Dawdler.8521" just that the swordsoJ are meleerange. if not herald disappears as well, that's not gonna end too well for the dh's. and kinda, that's what dragonhunters are used for yet. and it worked way better when all traps had full dps. two zerker dhscould down a mounted player with traps ;P
  4. @"LetoII.3782" looks like maguuma is that one server that has some guilds that can fight, but not too many as well. the greens and blues in this matchup look a bit like lemmings... that is simply their classy t1 ppt behaviour these days... "drown them in bodies! for nothing and nothing, but we'll do it bc we think we win anything that way while irl we only provide them a way better farm than they'll ever know!" however, notsure which site u use for kdR count. it's the highest in the matchup, but not that big (unless that was kdR in like 1 specific hour) - and after gw2mists, also only positive kdR in EBG (while RBG isn't that bad either) @"manu.7539" try to read the argumentation line then. crazy ppt leads to unlinked, transfers off of strong fighting people and to dying servers. nothing tells better than Desolation, the server been #1 in t1 for years, until people decided to break this boring system. (legit, when i started playing, i was confused to be not green color as we got #2 once in several weeks) about eight guilds left, few others dissolved, within the last three years. ppt'ers make the biggest population now and expect to be carried by the few remaining players. ___ this "MY game, not YOUR game" mentality is weird. i rarely read this that directly like here. unless u own the company "Arenanet", then no, it's not your game. and wdym, you paid for it? everyone who has the expansions did sorta pay for it, some even bought the core game back then. some even buy gems now and then, idk. active guilds provide content, on all sides. and they don't waste space really since playtime/hours count. ergo, you have no point, and u repeat that "no point" a bit too stoically.
  5. condi is even pretty overtuned atm. since the pdps isn't hitting that hard and cleanses got nerfed, condi is at a FAR better stand than in the last 3 years ever... which is rather bad than good. condi is a quite stale and only in smallscale working thing, there's no real need that it's good. and man, if u really choose condi and feel bad bc the engis cleanse it off easily, then u may consider picking your fights better. tempest, scrouge/reaper, spellbreaker, engis have all pretty good natural ability to get along with condi and use it even against you all the changes u suggest on FB, necro and tempest are absolutely unnecessary. you wrote _"All the Work Guilds put into fighting outnumbered is thrown by the wayside by someone using med kit 1 healing his raid like crazy!"_ which is questionable... guilds who use condi as dmg are just doing it fundamentally wrong. because condi is simply not reliable, and every solid comp has one scrapper per party... and additionally the firebrand and one secondary support. unless someone sleeps hard, guilds are basically immune to condi... and if one big cleanser would get too hard nerfs, just another one would take its place... anet would need to destroy like 5 classes to make condi really good... then it would be just a odd pirateship meta... notsure why anyone would want that.
  6. i'm even transfering out of t1 , bc it's after all dead boring. and our open ppt tag runs for like eight to twelve hours on some days... and another one bandwagoned to the server lately even. ppt is just out of hand, if the score would mean anything, they would need to limit the off-hour ppt score worth. (sadly cannot fight the posters here, since in EU... but it seems the issues are the same. absurd ppt by all the newbies and old newbies, who believe dpsclouds, supported by extrastats and siege are fun to attack into... or offhour-ppt-swarms. currently, EU has probably a stronger t1 even, still is the epitome of "no content"... people gone on weekend fighting into EotM overflow maps bc the other servers started straight clouding everywhere. and clouds in blobsize are just equally boring and way more toxic to way more players than tanking ppt could ever be, i feel. @"manu.7539" u'll just ruin your server in the end... it may get stuck in tier 1, but that's not hard since nobody really wants to be there, just don't complain afterwards if a unlink happens, or if u get a very small link, which sorta kills any hope of big ppt score. certain people (guess who i refer to) provide a good farm, but siege cannot win u a battle. if a fighting blob would be interesting in taking your precious keeps, it would do that. of course, smaller guild groups won't be able to, if u have a cloud of 50-60 full dps pew pewing from the walls, suicide bombing into siege and using a ton of siege themselves constantly... then again, at this point nobody would tryhard about it. @"SweetPotato.7456" i'm not sure what point u try to make there? participation is rather easy to get, even without tryharding at least on monday or tuesday u should have it. participation only needs to stay over 4 for this. u get participation of anything by just killing a single npc outside a keep, if your group flips it afterwards etc.. there's enough helping sites for builds and infos about mechanics online, so i'm not sure what the big problem is. ppt is a bad participation provider anyways, flipping camps and sentries is only good for bridging participation (so it doesn't drop if a tag makes 5-10min break or hasn't started yet etc)

  8. normally guild leaders don't randomly kick people. persons that moody should not lead guilds anyways. and would not manage that, bc the other member would likely just wander off to other guilds, where the comm doesn't roleplay stalin. even at the hardcore fighting guilds, you can criticize your comm. good comms also reflect constantly what went wrong. strong fighting groups contain mostly experienced players, so you normally know what u messed up. therefore, real drama isn't very common. and most guilds aren't fielding more than 25-30 people on their guildruns, so not sure what u refer to by "giant guilds" @"Svarty.8019"
  9. to add some options what @"len.7809" wrote: blob = 40+ zerg 25-39 (roughly) guild groups fighting guilds = 18-30 normally, a few bigger are guildzergs yet; guild roamergroups = 2-15 completely random, some are more like roamerpacks, depends heavily on the guild scouting is just ... not a real role anymore, imo.
  10. desert border needs to be flattened more. and all "ruins" and this borderlands bloodlust thing needs to get just removed. _plus, the spawn is just placed the worst way possible. imagine the alpines had their spawn BEHIND the nc ... lmfao, u could never defend garri in time. just freaking trading nc and spawn locations would help desert to be a lot more playable._ outside of that, DBL isn't that horrible designed. the elite mobs like the wyvern have still no use at all, but yeah, idk. if we just upgrade EotM to full map (real map with participation and ppt score contribution), then it'd help to have the players stretched out more also.
  11. i mean, often the siege is placed so bad, that enemy barrage/meteors just delete it. or the user gets cc'd and pulled within seconds. same for all the "heroes" on the walls, who watch the attacking zerg and try to pew pew without having stunbreaks and stability up. makes no sense at all to even try that really. pull and burst in 1v30 won't ever work. since the damage nerfs, u just cannot burst stuff down in one second. and self sustain + group sustain got heavily nerfed yet, compared to the last years. @"Voltekka.2375" because scrapper is the best cleanse+healer sorta, esp after tempest nerfs. there won't come anything that outperforms this class at this job (maybe in EoD but not before)... also all the scrapper utilities combined with the sustain are just too good to replace it, just bc some nerfs, that no other class can do equally anyways. @"XenesisII.1540" still, the point stands; the "balance" been mostly plain nerfs, without a real filter. instead of trying to buff completely unused things (weapons, traits, skills) like what do people expect? nerfing firebrand and scrapper to unplayabilty? and then? all will just become a huge pirateship, probably healing rev and tempest would sorta take their place. and people would cry about "rev meta"... and here we go again (i mean, they do complain about rev yet... but eh. remove all classes so everybody is unhappy? idk.)
  12. @"Naxos.2503" pretty legit view imo. just you get fight guilds to support defenses, you just need to have the pugs supporting them and not beeing uncooperative. like also defenders should watch their movements, and strike after the guild and do the cleaving (if small numbers), or bait the enemy blob (if its like 20-30 defenders). @"Zok.4956" and this is very much the point. Wvw cannot be really balanced, as the mode as such isn't. some people say that also the numbers of people on server vary, some open showcase of numbers from Anet years ago did apparently show this. (and on EU; everyone knows BaruchB is artificially open) like even if we map map caps to 40, then your big group is 30 now. and if u have only 10-15 ppl to defend, things aren't much different, bc u still will have several trolls or afk piphunters or duelers on the map. stuff would just flip slower, maybe? maybe also not, bc 3 experienced players easily flip keeps alone. with one 30 ppl group at garri, you'd have all defenders there, and 2*3 people could steal hills and bay in one go, very likely, even if those'd be tier 3 and fully siege up, i guess. giving people more space to play would help. update and upgrade EotM to a real map with pips and upadate red border by flattening it a bit, make it less clunky. also, nearly everyone i know hate the "borderlands bloodlust" buffs... just remove those and maybe put a "baby Stonemist" on each map instead. if possible not the same on every map. also a bit more rotation... who gets which border as homeborder and who gets which starting place of EBG should be randomized. the only way ppt would become really a thing ever again would be sorta "seasons", where u get legit amounts of gold in the end. and @"manu.7539" Wvw is the only mode of this game called GUILD WARS (2), where guilds actually have a crucial role. in pvE they are more like farming communities, in spvp they are barely important (from what some good NA streamers said sofar), only in Wvw the strongest guilds have still reputation and lore amongst the community. guilds are a sign of a group who shares some identity, and enemy servers tend to notice and take more care, if they see specific guild groups running around. without guilds, you'd just empty out Wvw. trying to "get them off Wvw" won't work either ways i think. guilds comms carry the fighting groups always, and if they openlead (which most of them do), the core of their guilds still also forms the core of that blob or zerg, which is important, so the comm has a group that comes on the right builds and is just a reliable force. u only know u can trust pugs' fighting abilties if u know them long enough, or if u know their guilds. nobody just prejudices roamers, and as long as the group isn't full, most people don't even kick non-meta classes.
  13. just that tiers have absolutely nothing to do with "skill". the old ppt commanders that have mostly quit the game anyways after gliders, mounts have been added, EotM killed and tournaments ceased, are still good fighters. ranks have also only partly, ofc, since in earlier days there been bugs to abuse which allowed you to farm a lot of free ranks and free "ultimate dominator" title.
  14. i meant new players simply. the hardcore ppters of old are very few, they just do what they always did. but people burnt out from this kind of playstyle, which was the official reason Anet provided for not making Wvw-tournaments anymore afaik. nobody should be " sacrificing their own fun for the team"... okay, we roleplay war, but this isn't that serious in the end. we also ppt, if we want another matchup next week, but that gets discussed in the discord. people who don't participate in the servermeetings just don't "vote". if they can argue, about "why" ppt, then it'd be another thing. the whole ppt system isn't competitive anyways. it's about the biggest off-time crews. but it's always only for 2 months = one link duration anyways. if u motivate your ppl to become extremly active in ppt, you lose your link for the next 2months following and as unlinked, you cannot get over t4 or t3 max.
  15. @"WWWWWWWW.6742" just that we're quite far away from structured fights, a bit more often than not. experienced groups vs inexperienced end in one push. it's all the elite specs beeing really strong since several years. the nerfs feel rushed and are just that: nerfs. not exactly balance. aspects like fast dmg and some traits or skills don't even get looked at. mobility isn't counted it. weak weapons don't get buffs to create kinda "balance" that'd be the "aim" of this. therefore ... eh.
  16. guilds are usually actually even at a size, where lags do not happen normally. the bigger groups are, the more lag does happen. which would be blobs, but then again, Wvw was designed as largescale-format. the lags have been getting overall better even. the fights crimson describes been threeway-blobfight, with each server having at least 50 ppl fighting of green border keep, inside it. means 55*3 + siege... that's a lot of klicks for one single objective. also, the lags still seem to be serverside. (therefore a tech issue)
  17. guilds take basically not space in what makes servers full. fullness is created by playtime per player, and every play hour of a person who is used to largescale is like 50 times as effective. therefore, despite some people have the illusion that it does, the 2 hours in ~3 days a week of GvG , does not affect the ppt score at all. in that time even many blobs are not going anywhere, bc if three 30 ppl groups of each color fight, there's just no space for real zoneblobs of 50+, not even 40 normally, on a map.
  18. @"manu.7539" strong guild groups of 20-25 can alone wipe blobs of 50-60 people. the ppt gets done by small ppl groups or single ppl. most people don't commit to this "hardcare ppt" mentality, bc it's boring and stale. of course, everyone starts alike, bc that's what seems to be the "aim". but the only reward is that u get unlinked and struggle to get out of t5 in the end, if u ppt too crazy. winning t1 is just 24/7 player number coverage, at the very off times, even 20 ppl groups are "big". and some servers have zergs even till very late night. like really, the "win" in tier one requires absolutely nothing other than that, really. our server been for years #1 ppt in tier one of EU, and this only destroyed the whoel server. big parts of the community wandered off, and ppt-hungry newbies took their places. by now it lost any identity it once had, and most people that originally been here (talking about ~3 years past from now) @"Valelutra.9128" sounds more like the problem, that guilds often don't work together too well. comms are all a bit special, and i see a lot of guild commanders who heavily overestimate their groups, despite getting farmed over and over by groups triple their size, openfield. (the 20v60 win only works if u stealthpush, kite off, full disengage, and repeat, takes a while and a lot of fast AoE damage + cleaving downed)
  19. i have absolutely no clue where i should put these celestials to.. are those the HoT storyline elemental monk guys, where the zephyrite ( also still have no clue what those are really) backpacks been related to? so that hammer was supposed to be looking like some old chinese style (while hammers are surely no classic chinese weapons afaik).... that's super random, but as good as any explaination, i guess. but yeah, at least there exists some story on that then. many Wvw parts either have no story infos, or those got removed. like, some NPCs have dialogues. and i saw a video from ~2012/13 where early Wvw's EBG had a special loading screen description **"Deep within the Mists lies the Eternal Battlegrounds, a place of mystery, where worlds collide and legends are born. Stonemist Castle lies at the center of the conflict, a silent witness to the chaos of battle surrounding it."** i found that incredibly cool, and have no clue why they removed the loading screen message, honestly. so long, #allianceswhen

  21. yeah, i'm aware of those... raged enough about it on teamchat when i was playing more casual. i only commented on that bc the % of the people who do it to "break Q's" is far smaller than accident or other fail-alert pulls, from my experience at least.   22. btw did anyone think about Wvw when they brought the hammer skin "hammer of the THREE REALMS" into the gemstore? thaha. i was slightly amused, but i miss on pretty much every item more lore descriptions, so no idea to what those "three realms" refer. pvE has way more realms, for every faction even, i think. so that cannot be it. also, happy #allianceswhen
  23. @"Dawdler.8521" i'd have smallscale sets rather ppt instead of dying left and right and rallying the enemy. or giving out the squads position, most are not doing the cleaving downed part also. pugs place is assistance dmg and cleanup to avoid rallies, even very old servers knew this. there's some funny videos on youtube about it, which are dated back to like 2013-14 i think. if a border is full and you still have 30-35 only only on the squad, and people panic-post on teamchat "blob garri" ten times, then yeah, it'd be nice if everyone not interested in largescale but interesting in keeping the ppt would leave the border. 2-3 people per close camps are enough to keep those safe, which is roughly 10 smallscale/70, but not 30 who afk or camp towers... that's not directed against anyone, but don't expect 30-35 people to wipe blobs of 45-60 size for you. esp since its random who enters the maps then, since everyone can press the borderbutton. means u may get some more roamers even in, and your firebrands or scrappers are stuck in Q. and yeah, if the support is in Q, it is very difficult to break through bigger sized squad, if not full impossible. (and we talk of similar button press levels, which u can never now - Wvw is simply the definition of unblance. which is why more balance funnily only will make it feel worse and worse) @"Strider Pj.2193" that fake-EWP pull is mostly done without any note by the numerous weirdo trolls. sometimes someone randomly notices and spams it on teamchat. other times people just want to clean another border, which semi works (bc it won't work often, many ppl don't take those EWPs bc baits alike are known), but well. many don't take EWPs anymore bc it's 30-40%ish plainly trolls pulling and randoms spamming them on teamchat. i also often wait too long, bc i gotta check the (usually very unprecise) reports before, esp if i am on a border where the Q will be huge after we killed the attacking group. and i don't help 5 defenders against 10 attackers when i gotta wait then till a 20ish Q pops.
  24. @"manu.7539" and, tell me, what do u get for "winning" t1 ppt score? probably less than i get for 1800 kills, since kills fire into Wvw rank (asc box drop options, just lately got a zerker asc weaponbox on rank 2140~), bags (heavy loot bags have chances for ascended mats like deldrimor steel ingot even) and other rare random drops like BLchest keys or precursors. these rules u claim to have make no sense at all. there is no honor in ppt, as there's no rewards. it's a nice thing to roleplay, maybe, i don't know. guilds carry any bigger fight. without strong guilds, you couldn't defend anything ever. two 20 ppl guildgroups that work well together can push most 50 ppl blobs quite fine. if u only had this ppt-lovers on any server, you'd be not going anywhere. you'd be ending up getting spawncamped, bc u cannot win a single fight. like, for 1 undefended keep u need 2-3 people that know how to klick their buttons, that's all. lords are crazy weak. another point... t1 #1 = staying t1 t1 #2 = staying t1, both get an alpine border at next matchup... so the rewards here are 1:1 the same. bit more pips maybe, but that just fills your monthly participation bar faster. which is either way maxed out after the weekened, if u play a bit and have gold rank or higher.
  25. mh, i'm convinced its ppt tags or random people who go to the walls / hills in front of SM and mass-die there, honestly. u can watch that for hours sometimes. @"LetoII.3782" kdR is a bit off... this reset, we had 0,7~ kdR on three maps, only on GBL where our main fighting group was, 2,5... lol. that one map had a 60ish queue initially. cannot tell why no other map got a real group together but well. @"DoomyBaby.3167" u'll for sure find fighting guilds in EU as well... i'm nearly sure we have way more than NA has. probably stuff is just "better stacked", so spread out to less servers in NA, but idk really. check gw2mists page for guilds, killcounts of them... the best guild fighting groups have pretty big killcounts every week. and most if not all relevant do by now use the site of gw2mists. u can also often see raiding days etc for those on that page.
