  1. my fav was the engi that got downed and stopped taking dmg (from six people on dmg classes hitting on him) at 20%ish HP left in downstate, gaining invuln trait ("determined") till he was healed up again. in mid of outer SM. ah, was probably only skill.
  2. with the current amount of water in the maps, that's not a big deal. weird tho, bc exact of that fact. most water fighting happens in Bay, but that's mostly cleaning up

  5. skill is knowing what u klick when. it got "nerfed" by stripping a billion of dmg of everything but kitten roamerclasses.. but it's still fine. i can still drown a small pepeguild with my wells... we good. yet, skill should be rewarding. it's absolutely annoying how many people think they can dodge the meta stuff and bring the most random of sh*ts to one of the most endgame formats that gw2 has... and then complain that they get rolled. it's fundamentally wrong to think u can "chill hide afk farm" in a blob, if the enemy also has one. rather, with that kinda stuff + clouding in kinda situation, you basically help the enemy and kill your own people indirectly (examples: group stealthes and jumps of a wall towards enemy... kitten glides and reveals everyone or is mounted up and does the same stuff). also, if u dont actively fight u'll get less loot... this isn't openworld metas. the "reward" kinda is to gain levels faster, and with increasing rank u gain more pips = reward track loot faster. (surely the system is a bit flawed, bc old player have a massive advantage from the EotM farm times. some very high ranks seem to come from metas very long ago. hard to imagine how fights even looked without revenants and firebrand and all other elite specs. @"asterix.9614" i mean, core guard even has immortality for a short time :bleep_bloop: @"Henry.5713" also nailed it. exactly that... balancing chaos, what for? i'd say let's make it more chaos. fractal styled events happening (not 24/7... maybe 3 days a week, randomly 2 different effects) would make the whole mode more interesting again i feel. the new e-specs will shake up everything nicely as well. will be both, scary and funny. and hopefully we get a new map as well. a far bigger one would be nice with a more openworldish character. the closer part of queensdale for example would make a great map, if u just put gates into the fortresses (and broaden the walls surely). plus, the "temporary solution" named "links" needs to be dropped sooner than later. so many people are currently really annoyed by Wvw. might be bc we play so much and therefore all the problem are even more visual than normally...
  6. i agree with OP also, while snoow has a point surely. just that amount of tactics u just don't get while laddering from silver, gold on... people there often won't take close and mid even if u bind three enemies on you for some time - because it's maybe and ele and a reaper/necro and they cannot handle the combo of stunlocks and dps the best are the ones that run around like headless chicken, add in yet won 1v1s and mark random players as target. like marking the bulkiest kiting classes for targets is such a odd thing. kinda wish the target-calling would be deactived in spvp.
  7. siegerazor just runs to the keep and drops a ram at the gate, then stays to help capping the objective and byes. afaik has nothing but a small buff/heal aura, won't be too much use if ur only two players. additionally i think if u own your close towers + garri, it won't even do anything.
  8. all dmg is a ton lower today. traps got nerfed hard, before they did hit into groups with a notable impact. some people do still use dragonhunter, it's nothing compared to the power of a weaver if we talk about puglife. still far from the usefulness of a scrouge or herald tho. i think dragonhunter has a good stand in 1v1 spvp rather than in wvw.
  9. out of interest, what do u need mystic clovers even for as wvw'er... i'm over a full stack of them now :dizzy: @"Lan Deathrider.5910" i also sold this year around 750 mystic coins, all from 2 years wvw. only kinda you get them every week i guess either way. i would trade GoBs for skirmish tickets and memories of battle tho, surely. notsure if a daily vendor wouldn't be too easy tho. also where do badges have a gold sink lmfao? lately someone told me also that spirit shards have kinda "grey market" but idk, never read that elsewhere. the afk pipfarmers or other pvE *****s, who just lurk around and try to leech for participation, are yet there. the rewards i'd see would need to have organized fighting servers, forcing people to organizing into guilds and using good stuff, so that the server performs well. it should be either weekly, monthly or (if we need to have this link system) link-wide rewards. i'd see grandmaster mark boxes and ascended choice boxes for weapons and armor as good monthly rewards. outside of that i'd want an option to get Wvw-legendary weapons. i don't see conflux as having big use, since the mistbands with 3 slots are not very expensive to get... both it and the legendary armors are imo too expensive for their use. like, for normal legendary weapons u gotta do so much stuff that most of us do not really want to do (including myself).... should i ever want one, i'll have to buy it, and that's 2k gold or more. who of us has that amount of shinies? @"imadethistoplayGWtwo.9365" well, i deleted some yet simply. would indeed great to be able to use them. @"Infusion.7149" made some good points as well. while don't forget, you need to have to level crafting stuff as well, and i personally stilll only have weaponsmith maxed, and only on one character ;P after 3 years. u miss that u can get the backpiece with blood rubies (have two of those yet, each simply 200 rubies = roughly 4 times the respective reward track, ez)... okay they have only 1 slot, sucks, but upgrading them is imo not worth the price. and a 32 slot siegemaster satchel <- THIS would be so big time needed. there should be substitutes at least for quite some comfyness things that pvE offers as well.... and as said, the farmbots exist yet. the serverguild of DC has like "farmer A, B, C, D, E" within their ranks, idk. at the moment, the system is kinda soviet communism... nothing special but everyone gets it easy without doing much for it. but everyone knows it won't be like that forever, bc the system eats up itself. like honestly, i only cringe when people complain how hard it is to get one silly gift of battle.... but running through the whole crazy pvE maps ten times for nasty JPs, missions, itemdrops and world completiation just bc the legy receipe says so is fine? we do yet metas to get acchievement points... is that not enough :P

  11. thief can have a portal.. but walls should block out all kinds of portals. this porting-inside-keeps is a pretty lame thing. i'd care more if ppt had any meaning to be fair, still. and the overall class balance is NOT the issue. the overall system is. servers had their time, server identity is dead anyways in most cases. guilds have still identities, but when a server loses like 180 people u cannot even talk about it as the same server it has been in the past. we need the "temporary solution" named links to finally end and make way for a new matchmaking. and time adequate leaderboard rewards.

  16. btw @"Strider Pj.2193" did / how did your view change about this? you been here at page 1, about three years ago, from a seemingly roamery perspective? __ also... reading the old stuff tells where we gone and why it was fundamentally wrong. only way to make your matchup is to buy a transfer. some people in 2018 misunderstood Alliances and claimed it would "kill Wvw". the realists saw that rather the too long missed fix of the toxic link system would be way worse. okay, the warclaw probs also did cause quite some players lose interest due to easier ganking but yeah. my server is, after beeing pretty strong/stacked in the past, finally done. flooded with newbies, impossible to play as a group, you get like 30/70 on a squad, rest just clouds around and rallies +20 sized enemy groups. i never wanted to, but i will 97% ish abandon the server i picked on day 1 randomly, because it was simply killed. idk how many stopped playing, but like 180~ players transfered off over one single year. the link system has ultimately failed, and it killed yet two of the biggest servers of old times, vabbi and desolation. (WSR is kinda swinging state)
  17. @"Deganation.9604" "I would assume that the purpose of WvW is to be in the T1 as the winning server, other than that, what would be the purpose of defending or taking over towers/keeps/camps/smc." and here we have the issue. tier one is worthless, it seems as the "goal" but in the end ur just stuck in a matchup with barely changes (since #1 + #2 stay t1) next, you get no better rewards in t1 than in t4 (because t3-4 are still alive enough to get similar amounts of content plus less queues) further, taking keeps is easy, since defending bonus is marginal. only very casual servers will continue to go the the same keeps to get ganked over and over again, for hours (which is the best and easiest farm for defenders, just not extremly commonly happening) farming bags surely is a nice thing, but in the end you need good fighters for this, which u only find rarely in t1 (bc they like to pick their matches, with a too strong ppt you have rookie players + too much queues to be mobile). killing other groups also is the fastest way of leveling, another thing probably most people miss out. and your participation barely ever drops below the rubicon of 4. (which is a "problem" at pugging + afk pipfarming)
  18. while i think using ascended food outside of organized groups is luxury, i think you should always have at least some of the normal food (just get the core stats of the good foods) and basic oils on. like, if you cannot afford any other, use the stuff that u can buy with badges of honor, the currency is anyways worth nothing in any other way. (older players have like 100k of them, and even i gathered over 20k... when i don't have eventfood to use, i use just that) ideally, u can also have the utility and food primers activated, just i often have them stored in bank when ascended food gets dropped somewhere :P
  19. @"Ayrilana.1396" not zergfights, but three way zergfights it is. if anyone or two of em use stealth, for me that makes the ping/fps and rubberbandings even worse but yes, it does not always happen, just very often. works better if u split them up and keep distance, plus fast kill/cleave.

  22. @"kash.9213" fundamental error there... i don't smallscale at all, but i killed several roamers with bombs of my largescalecharacters. i help people defending camps if i feel like it, and nah, i don't adapt my set for that. drop dmg, dodge incoming dmg... that's doing it mostly. idk if y o u build for ganking. thieves maybe do kinda stuff, surely. that has absolutely nothing to do about beeing in Wvw. the pvE people in there build even for nothing at all. some run likely the same sets they used for completing their storymode. when i run in a big group, i do that bc i expect other big groups around. if u think u'll not get bombed as roamer trying to poke that, that is not ganking. that's punishing cockyness. zergsets are not built for ganking. they are built to be effective, either dmg/heal/strips/cleanse, and to do their job in a big impact. @"Gotejjeken.1267" stab gets burnt away if too much cc comes in (or its duration ends). that's why even minstrel FB can get cc+entagled/dazed etc

  24. @"Demon Puppet.6873" thing is, if done right they can stealth from barely out of sight, so u cannot possibly counter that other than necro marks or a target painter trap (but that works only if u place either a ton of em or smell the way they will come, which is again a bad execution of a stealthpush) like if u don't lose at least 5-10 people, the stealthpush was just slow or someone attacked too early and the rest slept. like the only option is to let some ppl die and bomb the inc group asap + stab up and dodges. but they have the first strike. __ the stealth tries i see often is setting stealth up in plain sight, and also there only babystealth, leading to every not totally slow eyed group beeing able to predict where and when the push will come from. the good ones still push from spots where u cannot spot them.
  25. i overall just disagree with the nerfs since 2019 in general, it gone far too far. cc got just plain nerfs, cast time was never taken in consideration. therefore fast and slow cast ccs on all types of weapons lost dmg, equally without consideration if the weapon was even used. (for example, guardian hammer... think i saw not one since three years, still its dmg got dropped as well. (while nerfing superquick waterweapon dps was forgotten...yeees) @"Demon Puppet.6873" someone was stealth pushed a bit too often lel. keeping eyes open still could avoid this. good/full blast routines still give 20ish groups a pretty long stealth option. we still killed 60 people with 20 in 2020. surely, not top tier "blob", but well.
