  1. Housing should not be just something pretty that you can put crap in and decorate. It should enhance other features in GW2 and be an actual play game "mode" in some way. Two things come to my mind. First, it could be huge boost to the sorry Loot-system in this game, where no Loot is truly exiting since all loot basically only represents a Gold-value, some AP or a title, except maybe the silly Infusions(also a Gold value mostly to many people). The Powercap is the reason for this, so anything beyond Ascended and level 80 has to be in the "shiny, showy and flashy" department(I'm Rich you know). Thousands upon thousands of Housing items, recipes and mats can be added to bosses, mobs, collections and quests in both sellable and accountbound form, from common to ultra rare. And the Powercap never is in danger. If Triple Trouble had a small chance of dropping some cool account-bound recipe for a dresser, I might actually do that content again. Right now, most people stop doing that sort of content once they have the Mastery points from it. Also, a nice stuffed Wurm-head on my walls would be cool. Let the Raiders have their own Trophies to show on the wall I am fine with that. Secondly, with solid Housing, people can actually become creative and bring shiny, showy and flashy to whole new levels, also for others to see. For instance, make it so that people can create entire Jumpingpuzzles in their instanced houses, for others to visit. I am sure we would see the most amazing stuff. To be honest, I think Anet is actually the company that could pull of such Housing (that is an extra game in a game), just like they did the best Mount system in my opinion. But it could be too great an endeavour.
  2. Strikes are a bust, only a few hardcore peeps fell for them, and now they have been elitized, like mini-raids. ( Li-nonsense and exclusion of classes included)
  3. I have been trying a few other major MMO's lately that I played some in the past but never really got into. Star Wars the Old Republic, The Elder Scrolls online and even Everquest, which I spend the first 10 years of my MMO life in. Everquest is just TOO antiquated now, even though it just oozes nostalgia for me with every corner I take. The star wars MMO is just so ugly: I bought the collectors edition at release, was really hyped for this MMO but it was the biggest bust for me of all MMO's that I anticipated. I like the combat in SWtOR but the character models and world are all just so plain, it is a pity. No amount of funny Star Wars creatures and references could compensate for this, I found. The old fashioned Quest system is also something that I can't stomach anymore. Teso has the best chance but the models here are also terrible. The world is ok-ish, nothing like GW2's minutely crafted World off course, but OK. In Teso I really dislike the combat and clunky tab-targeting. Does this game even have a target window? Maybe I should look into that more or learn about UI mods or some. But in the end I can not be bothered, it's just not drawing me in. So back to GW2. The reason I keep trying the other MMO's is because sometimes the fact that my powercurve basically stopped at level 80/Ascended Gear in GW2 gets to me, and I feel a craving for that race to the top. Then I realize that I was never really good at that race, so. :) Oh, and I miss housing in GW2. I guess when the next expac has Housing, there is no reason anymore to try other MMO's. :)

That's not a Katana. THIS is a Katana.
  5. I assume you mean New World and Ashes of Creation? Better marketing would suit Anet, I certainly agree with that. For me though, those two games are not an alternative. So I am not sure if Anets lousy marketing will drive a lot of people to other games. Also, the great thing about GW2 is that you can always come back after having cheated on it with other games. ;)
  6. If you can be online at eurotimes, GotD (Guardians of the Dutch) frequently do(or at least did) a tier 6 Dry Top run. They advertise in the LFG tool so no problem finding them if they do one. Nice commander too, he does a lot of Meta's. If you have a lot of Alts, do a Dry Top map completion with them, this will yield you a 100 geodes per character. Completion is pretty fast, since no Hearts. I had a hard time getting those Unidentified Fossilized Insect to drop from the Buried Locked chests, but in the end got them all. If you like WvW you will have a much easier time getting them since they are a reward in the end chest of the WvW track for Dry Top (Maguuma Jungle or something). It is my favorite weapon collection, I love the idea of each weapon having a unique insect imbedded in it, and they are pretty visible too. Love the unique names too, one of the best collections in my book. It's just that opening 30 Buried Locked Chests and getting zero Unidentified Fossilized Inects sometimes got to me. :) And geodes are pretty hard to come by (as opposed to for instance Bandit Crests). You will live for a while in Dry Top if only for the Geodes (recipes). Good luck!
  7. I know the Expansion will be about Dragons again, but I agree with the OP: I am done with dragons too. Joko was actually a refreshing change of Villain. We killed Balthazar too and that was ok, but here's hoping they do not change the tune from Dragons to Gods in/after Cantha. I guess killing entities like Dragons and Gods is more "epic" but we are not 12 anymore and I think most of us can invest just fine (actually better) in less divine adversaries. Just make the dialogue and story great.
  8. I think they should add 1 Elegy Mosaic to regular Bounty rewards, that could make them more popular. Loot has always been a weak spot for GW2. After you get associated Achievements, a lot of content has a very low reward/effort ratio. At least make it so that such content allows you to accumulate something worthwhile in a predictable fashion.
  9. > @"Shadowmoon.7986" said: > There is only 2 items in the games that requires Funerary Incense, Vision and Coalescence. All gen2 legendary weapons can be gotten using the HoT path using crystalline ingots. This is a non issue. Also can we stop this trend of "I personally hate X, so it should be changed for the Steam players" excuses. Yes, after I saw what a pita those Funerary Incenses were, I went with the HoT path. And Dragons Stand meta's are still kinda fun, and done a lot in Euro time zones. Definitely the way to go here. So I guess the OP has a bit of a point that they could make the Incenses somewhat easier to get. I do quit a bit of content in PoF, but even then Elegy Mosaics and Trade Contracts come in too slow for the harsh exchange rate to buy Incenses. So maybe offer 3 incenses per day for doing a Heart instead of one.
  10. I once bought 25 Black Lion Chest Keys, that was a thorough lesson. I think I got 2 uncommon items that I both did not care for. I don't think I would buy these anymore even if I was a gazillionaire. Best buy: every utility item I bought, my Dreadnought.
  11. I hope you didn't expect a lot of yes votes from this poll. I get visions of a kid holding his breath because he didn't get an ice cream from mum.
  12. In the first years I used to hoard Exotics of any stat-set in my Bank, thinking "hey, I might need that for an Alt maybe someday!" With my bank space pretty tight by now, I just immediately Salvage anything that isn't Berserker or Ogden Armor (for my many Condi Scourges, since I am too cheap to make them all Vipers). Yes, GW2 is missing the mark on a few things. The uselessness of any item or consumable lower then level 80 is another such wasted effort. Oh, and craft skills.
  13. Season 4 had Rollerbeetles and Skyscales and some pretty nifty Mount Masteries and that alone makes it 10x better then Icebrood Saga. The Masteries of the Icebrood saga are the biggest disappointment, the maps are ok-ish, I do kinda like Drizzlewood though doing the whole thing is quit a slog. The story is about Charrs and Brahm, nuff said (Do not like either). Also the game is suffering from Loot-fatigue. Mats, more mats, and then currencies(that you need a billion of) that buys you yet another ho-hum weaponset. Grindy and boring. And did we really need another Hub?
  14. So far the whole Factions thing is a big disappointment for me, since it is restricted to yet another instanced, niche gameplay mode. Also, the help you get from the NPC allies plain sucks. I was hoping we would see battles pop up in the Open World, and that our new Masteries would make us stronger and better in dealing with those Battles, in the form of NPC allies coming to our aid (and actually making a difference). Like a battalion of Dwarves suddenly popping up. But I guess the latter is hard to balance, since the skills/DPS-gap between different players can be so large. So I am hoping the OP is right, and this is a prelude to a truly new interesting feature that involves factions and Allies. And choices to make! But I guess that will never happen, not an Anet thing.
  15. > @"lummuss.6850" said: > I believe that this (minuscule) change in the drop chance in three game infusions is simply a strategy to be able to attract the old or discouraging players back into the game. I personally have been playing for four years and after I heard about this new update, I was eager to enter the game and play the Tangled Depths goal. But I got discouraged right away and stopped playing the game (again). > So I think that's it, it's a strategy to keep the game moving. It was a good strategy for the beginning of the year, but the drop chance still remains, let's say "impossible". Do not give up, yesterday for the very first time there actually was a guy who got the Chak Amulet from the Chak Gerent. There still may be 21 players offering 10k for the Egg sac right now on the TP but that will change. I am considering selling mine now, exept that I do not need the gold. :( So I guess I keep the silly soapy bubbles Aura.
  16. Something new that changes the way I play the game, just like HoT and PoF did. In my opinion, Housing which could finally refresh the Loot/Reward system in GW2. Kinda sick of the entire Loot/Reward system being based on how you look (on a mount). Since there is no place in GW2 for rare loot that will enhance a players Stats and Combatlevel(fine with me), I would like to see a new feature where people can earn loot again and flaunt it in their ultra cool (instanced) mansion. Basically, expand fashionwars to include Personal Housing and make it a deep system that ties into (ultra)rare and common materials, rare and common recipes, new tradeskill, and balance it all through accountbound/sellable. I do not care about infusions that much but would love to loot an ultrarare recipe from the Chak Gerent, so I can craft an account-bound Clock that barely anybody else has. :) Mat-sinks could be stuff like wooden panelling, masonry and such. This would change the way I play the game because Bosses, DE's, simple mobs and also instanced content becomes more interesting for me again, since their drops can now enhance my House.
  17. Well, I had to do some WvW and Fractals for my Legendaries, but I am still not a fan of those. I guess getting the most bang for my buck means that I prefer to spend my time and money towards the mode I like best, which is Open World PvE. I will admit that this limits the amount of content but I have solved that by leveling up Masteries on Alt accounts. :p I.e. just do it all again on another account and get the feeling of progress. Since I still enjoy the immersive World immensely, this works for me.
  18. I am also wondering why they do not put a Noxious Pod in our Home Instance, never made sense to me that we have the other three but not that one.
  19. The meta certainly isn't dead, but I wonder how many people are actually doing the events before and right after the Meta, which actually yield the Machetes. I feel that most people leave the map right after the Meta.
  20. Fishing would be cool, but there is so much that can go wrong. The mini game is boring, the feature is implemented in a superficial way, it is not rewarding in any way. I think Fishing would need to at least have Trophies that you can then actually put up on a Wall, i.e. we need a real Housing feature. If Fishing is just going to be a few more AP's with some hohum minigame, then bleh.
  21. Yesterday I did the Chak Gerent and there was indeed someone who got the Chak Amulet. :o I already have it from way back, just after HoT was released, and since I am a total slacker otherwise I always felt a little special having the most expensive item in game(through pure luck, got it first CHak Gerent I did)). Interesting to follow the TP on this item: there are still 23 people who have a buy order for 10 k for the egg sac right now. Used to be 28 a week ago, then dropped to 18 after the announcement, then went back to 23 yesterday. I am sure it will drop though, unless the drop yesterday was a total fluke. Have never before seen anyone announce a drop and I have done the Gerent quit a few times over the past few years. So if you want to sell, best do it while there are still 23 buy orders for 10k. Unless you want to go through GW2 exchange. I agree though that prices for this item are silly, none have been sold through TP in years I think. That is not how it should be.
  22. There are some classes that have extreme burst damage for sure, you see a clump of enemies, then some flashy whirlwind attack and 2 seconds later they are all gone. But I guess they can't keep that up forever. :) I am doing ok tagging mobs with my scourge and sand shades, it must be a lot worse for other classes.
  23. I would love this. I recently bought Glyphs of Reaping for all my tools, and ever since then I have been harvesting my Full Home instance daily. Before that I could not be bothered, it took way too long. So Anet already has implemented stuff that makes farming your Home instance so much easier (that it in fact changed my behaviour) and it did not break the Economy. I do not think a butler that needs you to zone into your Home instance daily would either. I do think 400 gems is a bit too cheap though. That is like a 120 gold, that makes it too affordable. 3x Glyphs of Reaping would cost you 1000-1500 gold, I think the gem price for a butler should be in the same range. Like 4k gems. I would still buy it. Maybe 2-3k, since glyphs of Reaping also work outside the instance.
  24. Skins are a very personal taste indeed. The weapon skins I like best in the whole game are the Fossilized Insect skins that you can earn in Dry Top. I love the idea of each weapon having a unique Insect trapped in Barnstone somewhere in the weapon. I like Geology and Paleontology, the insects are well visible, and they have unique names too. I like them better then all of my Legendary weapons, exept Verdarach, that horn is way cool and so over the top. :) As for the vote, I would vote for both Medium and Large, I think truly small weapons are simply not visible enough. I could see how a roleplayer would beg to differ on this.
