The same is doubly true of the backpacks obtainable ingame (notice, by the way, how Bjora Marches meta backpack does not have color channels, even though it had to be designed when they already had the tech close to being finished).

The reason they are not going to is because it would take up development time where they are not receiving anything in return - those backpacks have already been sold to most people, any sales they make relative to the cost would be negligible. It does not make sense for them to do that, as much as we all would like it.

    > It's a stupid guess, i know, but i base it on how often i heard people not buying the combos because the combo wasn't dyeable

You can't really extrapolate based on what _you_ have heard. Anet has the figures on how many of an item they have sold, and how single gliders/backbacks sell compared to selling them as a combo, so I'm pretty sure they know what would be worth their time to develop and how they should sell it.

Yes, they would make _something_ but I'd argue they've already made the majority of potential sales already.

    >

    > Minions aren't used in fractals and dungeons because they mess with boss AI and can make encounters take 10 times longer in the worst case scenario. Basically, using minions in instanced content can be considered griefing.

I don't think this is the case. We took a new player from our guild into raiding on their minion master necro (literally every minion) and we were killing things fine without the AI going weird, I'm pretty sure they were even the tank at one point. Note: no, it was not meta, it was pretty low DPS and I don't recommend anyone trying to pug raids with it, we just really wanted to clear the bosses for her.

It was also meta to take Rune of the Lich on Scourge for a long time and the minions spawned by the rune were not bugging out AI. The only place in raids where I can think of it bugging is on Bandit Trio when you're trying to stack at the gate to pull the snipers down, but perhaps I'm forgetting something.

Also, I am pretty sure nobody cares if you are bringing your minions into dungeons. The same for lower level fractals. Honestly, play what you want there and ignore people like this - _as long as you are joining an LFG reflective of that, or start your own LFG with "anyone welcome"._

Edit: I forgot the point of this thread when I started replying, sorry! I think it could be cool to skin the minions but I don't know how it could be integrated. It could be interesting to have each race have its own different minion skin!

It does not make sense to dye the skull.

They absolutely can (read: are able to) make the old backpacks dyeable. The reason they are not going to is because it would take up development time where they are not receiving anything in return - those backpacks have already been sold to most people, any sales they make relative to the cost would be negligible. It does not make sense for them to do that, as much as we all would like it.

    > It's almost impossible to trust Jormag at face value though. For someone speaking of alliances, Jormag isn't exactly acting in good faith to that end. We really have to get in touch with Aurene and away from that voice.

    >

    > I really liked this episode, Bjora Marches was well done.

I absolutely agree that we can't trust Jormag... but I'm just so tired after all the recent struggles... I just want to rest...

  5. I like the Rampage changes, warrior is still in a good spot. A skill that gives you 3 hard CC skills should not be doing heavy damage. Rampage is also more than CC and damage.

If you can't win now because of the nerfs to it, then it's a skill issue not a nerf issue.

  6. I have max magic find and when I remember also have a banner boost and birthday booster, and I'd say I get at least one exotic a day and usually several. I play a pretty even mix of WvW, PvP, open world and fractals (also raids, but those are guaranteed exotic so I won't count it here), and I'd say they all give fairly even amounts of exotic, maybe open world is slightly lower than the rest. Most exotics come from opening all unidentified gear or from champ bags, very very rarely do they drop on their own.

More often than not, it's cheap and useless exotics, but occasionally one might have a good rune or sigil. I've only ever had 3 or 4 precursors drop (over 9000 hours) and none of those have been recent. The majority of precursors I've had are from the forge (around 20), with the best success rate from forging exotic weapons.

And lastly, if you are farming one place over and over then you are getting hit by diminishing returns, so I wouldn't expect to be drowning in loot if that is all you do.

  7. I think you shouldn't be able to duo queue after a certain rank, say plat 1.

I also think there should be an automatic kick from base so that people can't just afk there, e.g. if you spend longer than 30 seconds in base it ports you outside.

I don't think that chat should be restricted in ANY way. If someone is being toxic, you can just block and report them and move on. Censoring everyone because of a few toxic people is not really the way to go.

Pretty sure they'd have just called it Guild Cape and not Basic Guild Cape then. They also called it "the first cape" in the patch notes, it hints that there will be more.

    > what is this thing with "only PvE"-players that hate on WvW, i really don't get this. had lately one of them crying on reddit around too, with zero argumentation... WvW got literally nothing since the warclaw dropped, and the warclaw did rather make the entry for newbies more difficult, bc they cannot walk with zergs efficiently often.

    >

    > btw that is kinda the questionable part of links - they can pretty much render u unable to do anything. even if you can win 10 vs 30 battles with solid coulding by veterans, that isn't fun on longterm. but how to fix this is over my head. people dream of alliances, but wouldn't that be just this exactly^10?

    >

Literally no idea why you quoted me to complain about "only PvE" players. I play WvW.

    > Not everyone has mounts and/or gliding. If you bought the core game but not the expansions (for whatever reason) then you're stuffed; it's a bit pay-to-win imo, or at least, pay-to-not-be-frustrated-when-you-don't-think-a-fall-will-kill-you-but-it-does. Just roll the FDR into the lower tier minor if it 'complicates' trait selection, that way nobody loses anything. Or remove fall damage from the game.

Except for core maps were designed to not need it. It's not pay to win.
