Now I don't know how much time is going to pass between Episode 4 and 5 (with Caithe's cliffhanger considered), but I have a pretty strong feeling that anything more than a week would be maddening. If at any point we recover the golem body and try to restart the higher functions... we might not get Blish back.

That should be easy enough since he was an anorganic machine now (magnitudes easier than turning him into a golem in the first place). If Blish is so smart they should have just build thousands of golems with his neural network data and go for a technological singularity.

What makes you think it'd be easier to make a sapient consciousness from scratch rather than transfer souls in a setting like this? It's confirmed that Inquest looked into putting people into golems and the reason regular Asurans don't do it is because of how unethical it is. IIRC golems themselves involve binding souls of elementals into them to begin with. Remember it's magi-tech not sci fi.

    > On the "unique weakness" with Jormag v Primordus, we also have Mordremoth v Zhaitan weakness (as seen via Unstable Abomination and strongly hinted at in a dialogue at Siren's Landing), while Taimi still says Mordremoth's weakness was his own mind. This suggests that either a) Team 3 messed up twice, or b) Elder Dragons have two "weaknesses" and one is... explosive. The more likely possibility would be the later, as this would explain why we don't see any destroyers imbued with both death and plant, and we see no branded imbued with both death and plant either; it would also mean that Novans either didn't know this "opposition" thing or didn't include it when talking about "unique weaknesses" (since Taimi mixed this up, the former is more likely in this scenario), and that Primordus and Jormag have a still-undefined weakness. Would also mean exposing Kralkatorrik (and by extension, branded, Aurene, etc.) to the DSD's magic would be explosive, and can hint that maybe Taimi is wrong about "one more ED death makes The All unstable" and it was "using opposite forces to kill two Elder Dragons makes The All unstable".

    >

    > As for calling "magic as we know it" to be the same as "dragon magic": Throughout the core game and Season 1, "dragon energy" and its various other forms of calling (draconic energy, dragon magic, etc.) are the corrupting magics that Elder Dragons use, each one being unique to the respective Elder Dragon, and not some widespread spectrum which "magic as we know it" (e.g., profession magic) can use. That is to say, necromancy != Zhaitan's death magic. This was part of why Jormag's ice has a distinctively blue and black appearance to it, it's even brought up by a norn PC to a sylvari NPC as being unique to Jormag. Some places where it was talked about being the asura C3 PS, Whispers C5 PS, SE and CoE story, and Thaumanova Fractal (and, more specifically, Ellen Kiel's dialogue during Fractured release after doing the Thaumanova Fractal story instance).

    >

    > Divine magic is also distinctively made out to be different than normal magic throughout the core game (Priory C4 story, Orr temples), Season 2 (Divine Torch stuff), and S3 (Livia's redundantly repeated "god magic" repetition of redundancy in the last instance of One Path Ends). So again, it's different from dragon energy, while being within the scope of "magic as we know it".

    >

    > And, as mentioned, the Cosmic Power stuff which paints dragon energy as being distinctively different from both Mists magic and Tyrian magic (for lack of better dubbing).

    >

    > As for your second note: that's what a fire&water/ice elementalist does, though. Mixing two opposite magics at equal portions. One would think they'd cancel out, but they instead blend. Sylvari necromancers would also be canceling each other out.

One thing to note, magic is shown to be able to be filtered to some extent. The dragons seem to be able to eat any source of magic and adapt it to their own unique type with the exception of magic from other ED's. I get the feeling that all magic has a shared core source. Might be what the spectrum comment by Taimi meant.

Oh I must have misread, yeah Rytlock is a herald.

We only see instances of time echoes and not real time travel, so we don't as of yet know if that's even possible.

    > The energy we handed over was a mix of Bloodstone, Jormag, and Primordus, not actual "god" magic. But it was still Balthazar's, and he was a god.

He had enough left over to make mist portals though so we can assume he had -some- god magic or mists magic left.

I had a similar skepticism about Blish when he was introduced, but his particular combination of knowledge and traits just proved to be central to the plot twice over. If I had to guess, I'd say we're not done with exploring Balthazar's shenanigans, and someone who was actually tied to them is a good pick to help us navigate them.

I'll get more into that tomorrow, though; for now, the one thing I am well and truly miffed about, that hasn't been brought up- why didn't Zojja get to be there to see Snaff?

It was pretty emotional with female Asura too. The voice acting for this whole episode was phenomenal. I do have a minor gripe about how damage spongey she was which detracted somewhat from the weight of the clashes with her IMO.

I mean, from Mordremoth we have seen that ED are not just some mindless forces of nature incapable of thinking, so this part leaves me confused

Maybe if he eats the mists then reality just collapses and he becomes reality itself. Just a theory though.

Honestly the gen 2 shortbow is silly too, I mean it fires tigers. A bow that shoots tigers is something I'd expect in Dr. McNinja or Axe Cop IE: an over the top setting that's tongue in cheek about how over the top it is.

I don't have any problem with that kind of thing being in Guild Wars 2 though.

So to put it simply, a sword would be more commonly used with unarmored people. Although there are Sword techniques that can be used against armored foes, such as half swording or the murder stroke. But for its expressed purpose of cutting and stabbing the class I feel would fit that tight quarters city fighting would be mesmer. Misdirection and controlling the field in order to prevent death against an Armored foe. At least Mesmer would be my opinion.

    >

    > Maces dont crack armor(maces were used against armored targets to "ignore" the armoe and crack the bones beneath)...all your post is nonsense.

There were some mace adjacent weapons made to puncture or dent armor though like warhammers, it might not start cutting into skin or puncture it etc, especially with some stuff worn underneath but it will still cause blunt force trauma and maybe even restrict the wearers movement depending on where and how severely it gets dented.

Thought Tequatl was Aztec, also the Mayans died out before the colonization of the Americas so where would you get pronunciation from?

She's a cringey villain sue, we have Taimi, Blish and Gorrik for actually good characters who fit that. The inquest is also a thing if you want villain scientists. Scarlet was a mistake.

You're free to think that but it's one of the top legendaries for me personally. Along with Astralaria and maybe like the gen 1 shield and gen 2 dagger.
